Fantasy Draft: Season Eleven

Welcome to Season Eleven! All suggestions from you folks!

Numerology says that number 11 is an intuitive and spiritual number with charisma!

 

CBUB Fantasy Teams is kind of like Fantasy Sports games.  You draft a Team and they get thrown into matches for a "Season" which is typically several weeks.

In case you need a refresher on the rules, here you go :

When the draft is open visit your CBUB Control Panel to draft your team.

 

This season's competitive slots...

SLOT 1: The Team's Coach

A non-combatant character whose specialties include motivating and training people.

Base Line Examples:

• Doc Lewis (Punch-Out!!!)
• Mickey Goldmill (Rocky)
• Eric Taylor (Friday Night Lights)

 

SLOT 2: The Team's Medic

Doctor or Healer types who compete in medical challenges. 

Characters with magic or powers that heal will likely be denied unless they are street level.

Base Line Examples:

• Bones McCoy 
• Mercy from Overwatch (as a doctor)
• Doctor Gregory House

 

SLOT 3: The Team's Ninja

Must be a character that is really a Ninja. The character must be trained in Ninjutsu.

Try to stay in the tier 8 - 9 range on Vs. Battle Wiki.

Base Line Examples:

• Elektra
• Storm Shadow
• Scorpion

 

SLOT 4: The Team's Thief

Baseline human characters with limited or no powers who are are skillful thieves.

Base Line Examples:

• Catwoman
• Robin Hood
• Aladdin

 

SLOT 5: The Team's Disney or Pixar or Dreamworks Princess

Because you demanded it! Hey, everything here is from user requests, so grab your Princess and get in the ring!

Base Line Examples:

• Fiona
• Vanellope von Schweetz
• Snow White

 

SLOT 6: The Team's Location

A unique and well known Land, City or Area typically associated with danger and adventure.

Can be very dangerous but not so deadly that a human or human-like character could not survive it. At least one character must have survived it, anyways.

Base Line Examples:

• The Land of Oz
• Gotham City
• Mordor
• Hogwarts School Of Witchcraft And Wizardry

Note: Slot 6 will be matched in battle against Slot 7!

 

SLOT 7: The Team's Comedy Sidekick

A character that is the comic relief sidekick.

Is the show a Comedy? 

Was the character a Side-kick?

If you answered "yes" to both, then you may have a contender!

• Patrick Star ("SpongeBob SquarePants")
• Penny ("Inspector Gadget")
• Brian Griffin ("Family Guy")
• Agent 99 ("Get Smart")

Note: Slot 6 will be matched in battle against Slot 7!

People tend to instinctively vote for characters as their most powerful baseline, so no.

Not unless this specific de-powered, thief version of Storm is unique and non-baseline enough to have their own CBUB Entry. (e.g. "Cosmic Spider-man") .

Nope. The request was for a Disney Princesses slot. 

I added Pixar (which is still Disney) and Dreamworks (Shrek - loosely based on Disney) to ensure there's enough Princesses to go around.  Thematically, I think it is congruent.

So this films princess would be off limits? The Swan Princess - Wikipedia It's very much a Disney style film. But Anastasia would be allowed because Disney owns fox now.

Super interesting topic. 

Disney Princesses are given Official status by the blessing of Disney Executives.

So, officially, Anastasia is a Princess that Disney owns the rights to but is not a Disney Princess.  She has not been conferred that official standing by the powers that be at Disney.

There are only 12 Official Disney Princesses!

Too few Official Disney Princesses to choose from in the draft.  We have to expand to the Forgotten Disney Princesses, and other non-official Disney Princesses such as Elsa from Frozen.  Pixar gets you the Princess from Brave and Dreamworks gets you Fiona.

That might be enough.

Fox Princesses?  I'd say only if @Movie-Brat approves it.  It's his Slot pick.

Well, Anastasia is a gray area since yes, Disney technically owns that movie now but I'm going have to say no, she doesn't count as a Disney princess. They're not doing anything with her as opposed to their actual lineup nor inducted her. Nope. I'm sorry but she's disqualified.

Also in addition, I think at least the obscure Disney princesses like Calla or Eilonwy or even Kida at least should get a fair shot since they are literal Disney princesses. They're not in the line up but they count on a technical status.

One more thing. Elsa and Anna do count for the Disney Princess slot especially considering they were counted as such in Ralph Breaks The Internet. Remember this?

I guess he was the primary coach in Rocky 3?  Seems reasonable to me.

The ask would be that you add an image of Carl Weathers from Rocky 3 looking like a trainer.

I believe Rocky himself was also a coach in one of the later films.

I was going to ask that considering Rocky Balboa coached Adonis in Creed.

IDK, man. Excluding a princess owned by Disney because of technicalities seems kind of limiting, especially since there are only 12 "official" Disney Princesses and there may possibly be over 20 people competing in the Draft. Sure you could extend the options to Disney-created shows and lesser-known films, but beyond that, it feels kind of limiting IMHO.

I did say Calla, Eilonwy and Kida I'd allow since they're literal Disney princesses despite not being in the line. Plus, Anya is 20th Century Fox first. The Fox owned stuff does not count despite new management. Plus as I said, Disney is not doing anything with Anastasia besides distributing it on Disney Plus.

Also, it occurs to me Melody from The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea would qualify as a Disney princess as well. Unofficial yes but a literal one nevertheless.

Turns out there's quite the bounty of Princesses from the House of Mouse.

Now, what you need to know is that Disney has been tweaking the Official List for years.  Princesses get removed with the times.  Did you know Tinker Bell was once an Official Disney Princess?

Raya I completely expect anyway. Just waiting for Disney to pull the trigger. But yeah, I'd say adding Calla from Gummi Bears and that's the list for you. Though Giselle counts too.
