The ride of the eagles take some days with some rest stops in between, but on the whole its better then walking. They all come together at the gate of Moria and here, the eagles leave. Within, it seems dark and dangerous....A feeling that increases as upon the whole party, sniper dots appear. First one....Then many. A voice from the dark calls out to the hero's.

He was abruptly cut off by what sounded like an elbow in the ribs as a more gravely voice cut in.

And from the shadows, an old dwarf in battle armour appears. He is old, even by their standards but the grip on his ax is anything but weak. Though perhaps that could be attributed to the nature of the arm he had gripped with, a contraption of steel and mesh. An artificial arm, quite an anachronism in a world like this. He speaks.

 

"Sorry about that. We're just on edge here. I am Gimli, son of Gloin. Welcome to Moria."
