CBUB Fantasy Draft - Season 8

[Fox]

CBUB Fantasy Teams is kind of like Fantasy Sports games.  You draft a Team and they get thrown into matches for a "Season" which is typically several weeks.

In case you need a refresher on the rules, here you go :

 

Season Eight is going leverage Vs. Battle Wiki tiers in 4 slots.  The other 3 slots will be themed.

Regarding Vs. Battle Wiki - we will be using the lower powered tiers.  Below Tier 5.  We will see how that works out.

I will look very hard at characters with different versions and tier ratings.  They may be denied.

 

SLOT 1: The Team's Survivor

A human character from a live-action Horror or Sci-Fi movie that survived. (Or maybe didn't survive but was still cool).
No super powers.

Base Line Examples:
-Lt. Ellen Ripley
-Sarah Connor
-Tallahassee (Zombie Land)

SLOT 2: The Team's Corporate Mascot

Corporate mascots either from fiction or real-life,  i.e. icons known for promoting and selling things.   Typically, these would be found in CBUB Pop-Culture section.

Base Line Examples:
- Ronald McDonald
- Burger King
- Michelin Man
- Captain Morgan

 

SLOT 3: The Team's Wacky Racer

A character that is a fictional car.  Preferably, one that races or goes fast.  The vehicle must not have teleportation or other powers which defeats the spirit and purpose of racing.

Help Topic: How to choose characters from Vs. Battle Wiki

OK, so we are using the Vs Battle Wiki website for some slots.  Vs Battle Wiki  lists characters ranked in power by their system.

For example, let us select a character for

SLOT 4: Vs. Battle Wiki Tier: Superhuman (Lowest Power)

We go to the link to see the characters Vs Battle Wiki has listed in their Tier 9 area.

They have 8,424 Characters Listed as Tier 9 in their system.

In their selection we might select, say, Oddjob - a James Bond Villain.

He is listed as Tier 9-B which fits the slot.

If Oddjob is not in the CBUB Database and you wanted to play him, he would have to be added.

Follow the same process for the other slots - selecting from characters in the relevant power range as listed in the Vs Battle Wiki.

Would we need to add the actual car/vehicle to the database or can we just use the driver that may already be in the database? Like Speed Racer is there, but not his car.

Requires the actual vehicle, yep.  Please add as needed.

Survivors and Mascots slot probably also will see some adds.

Awesome idea for the Draft! I'm glad I added some survivors type characters recently so hopefully they can get some use

Here's an interesting stat, and it goes to show how competitive these Drafts have been. Seven Drafts in, and while there have been several repeat semi-finalists/finalists, it appears there has never been a repeat winner:

OK, the funniest thing I've seen on VS battles is that Wolverine is low tier 8, but they say with his adamantium claws he's tier 4. He's a very popular and maybe viable character for tier 8, and that his claws are so over that tier is hilarious to me.

I like to imagine that it's just his claws that are tier 4 though. Like Wolverine is getting beaten down by the Hulk or something and then his claws go "I got this," walk off of his hand, and start knocking Hulk around

They have to be listed and tier rated in Vs. Battle Wiki.  I mean, that's kind of the point of it
