  1. Great story @Boratz. "Fish Stick"! 😄😄😄 Unfortunately I don't really know enough about Starkiller, but as he's not aware of Wolverines powers (I assume from the setup) then I think that puts him at a disadvantage and Logan could strike unexpectedly if he's down.
  2. Really enjoying this arc - a 5 from me! Looking forward to the next ones (and in case you're taking requests, Nightcrawler v Quicksilver could be fun 😁). Agree with @leroypowell3, whilst Forge definitely is unappreciated and undersold given his range of talents, Cable is just too much, and above all is an accomplished fighter.
  3. POLICE REPORT – EVIDENCE FILE 1 Case No: 21604918 Date: 30th April 2024 Reporting Officer: Captain Luke Hawksley Prepared By: Lieutenant Ellen Flately ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Details of Evidence: Final message exchange between Steven (“Steve”) Goodwin and Alexander (“Alex”) Stein on April 10th 2024. Following messages pulled from phone of Steven Goodwin. All messages timestamped and grouped by conversation. Following message pulled from phone of Alexander Stein. This is the final message from victim, Steve Goodwin to Alex. His body was discovered 3 days later in what remained after the fire of the residence of Mr Norman Nordstrom. The Goodwin's residence, where Steve had come from that night, was also burnt down. No remains were found of either Ms Coleman nor Mr Nordstrom. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There you have it. Trying something a bit different in story telling, so hope you all enjoyed. Esther vs Nordstrom. Esther can try and use her charm and persuasion, but ultimately is going for the kill with an element of surprise. Nordstrom will be on the defence and will have the advantage of the dark house that he knows. Poor Steve is unfortunately the victim of whoever is the winner of this ultimate game of crazies.
  4. Am getting an image error when trying to create a new character (https://www.comicbookuniversebattles.com/index.php?/gallery/image/7687-f5uqmzfwgaecin01jpg/) I've tried logging out and logging back in and clicking the Control Panel before and after. Am I doing something wrong?
  5. Nicely played, and a well deserved win. I'm going to take some small comfort from the fact that for those voters that voted for both of us, it seemed to sway my way - but the singular votes hit me hard. Good luck with the rest of the tournament - keep it up and you'll easily be within reach of the trophy.
  6. Loved this setup. Man, I feel so sorry for anyone up against you in the first round of this Tournament! Wait, that's me! I meant to say this is absolutely awf.... nah, I can't - it's awesome. Well done A fun read, and an interesting matchup. Great style and rhymes, I'd have liked a bit more of an intro but that is nitpicking. I think that Din has other weaponry and too much maneuverability which will help him take this fight fairly easily. Not sure I can vote against the competition, but you get a 4.9 from me.
  7. Easy to read story with good brief intros to the characters. There was a sense of menace throughout especially from Lucy. Unfortunately I don't know much about either so can't comment as to the winner, but the story gives me the impression that Lucy is the more dangerous of the two and that Koro is not going to be able to talk her down!
  8. I liked the setup! A bit surreal and unpredictable, which is always good - hope you do continue this story as it could be one that gets more and more crazy. Some more explanation about what is happening would be beneficial in the future, but this is enough to wet the appetite.
  9. Awesome setup and echo the comments on the layout and pictures. A fun story as well, which captured the vibe of the character (although I don't know much about her). Can't really fault it, apart from perhaps wanting to see a bit more from Two-Face (he's always a fun character) and maybe some detail around the army of goons (weaponry, numbers etc) which may impact the outcome of the fight.
  10. "Have the ghosts of justice Brought you here to me to taste The barrel of a loaded gun" - Bon Jovi
  11. Last Stand at Fort Destiny Nestled in the dust north of the New Mexico desert stands a town unlike any other. Fort Destiny seems nothing more than a haphazard array of buildings, sprouting from the earth as if to defy the hard unforgiving land, but it is so much more. The sun is relentless, beating down on the wooden sidewalks and casting long shadows across the saloons, stores, and dwellings of Fort Destiny, which bore the mark of time and toil, much like the hardy souls that inhabited them. The town was a key nexus between places, a beating heart in the web of trade routes that linked the bustling cities of the east to the wild, untamed lands of the west. Traders, adventurers, and those fleeing past lives came through Fort Destiny, each leaving something behind and taking a piece of its spirit with them. Below its sands, veins of silver threaded through the earth, untouched and ripe with promise, a secret kept safe by the town’s unassuming facade. The importance of Fort Destiny was not lost on the eyes of power, who saw its position as a gateway between territories as a possible stronghold of resource and influence. That potential would bring about an alliance unlike had ever been seen, and would shatter the relative peace of the once peaceful town. ***** In the main street of Fort Destiny, a man lay slowly dying. The echoes of the gunshot still rang out about town, and under the blazing sun, three figures stood and cast a long shadow over the soon to be corpse. At the fore, a Yakuza member, his suit as black as the shadows he wielded and his eyes cold. Beside him, a figure from the Peaky Blinders, cap tilted just so, a sharp edge to his stance that mirrored the razor hidden beneath his sleeve. And completing the trio, a man from the Mafia, dressed in a suit that spoke of expensive tastes, his expression unreadable under his slicked back hair. The Mafia man called out to the eyes watching in terror behind the town’s windows and doorways: “Let that be a lesson to you all! When we return in a few months, we want no problems, no backchat, no resistance. This town is ours now, and anyone who doesn't fall in line will end up like the good sheriff here. Capeesh?“ Without a backwards glance at the body, the three walked away, mounted their horses and rode out of town. Three young women burst out of a house where protective relatives had been keeping them, skirts billowing as they rushed to their dying father. He was the sheriff of Fort Destiny, a man who had kept the town safe for many years. “Pa!” Despite the pain, he managed to hold their hands and give them a sad smile. He whispered words of comfort with his final words, but also of a plan that could save Fort Destiny. It was a desperate plan, a nearly impossible chance that the town needed if it were to survive the coming storm. In that plan were three names and locations; the sheriff’s daughters needed to seek them out and explain the town’s plight as well as what the gangster’s plans were. They were the last hope of the town and indeed maybe the West. As the light flickered out in his eyes, the sheriff’s daughters nodded in grim determination, their eyes set with steely resolve. There would be time for mourning later, they had to act quickly. Three names that could maybe save Fort Destiny and avenge their father. Adams. Earp. Billy. Three names whispered by a dead man to his daughters; names that carried weight across the dusty plains of the West. Each man had once carved paths through wild, lawless lands and was a legend in his own right. Now, as the call from Fort Destiny reached their ears - a plea woven with desperation and hope - they felt the stirrings of duty and adventure in their seasoned hearts once again. Chris Adams, still a gunslinger, knew the time had come to rally the Magnificent Seven once more. In another town, Wyatt Earp, his badge still a symbol of enduring justice, gathered his brothers and the legendary Doc Holliday, ready to impose order on the chaos threatening the frontier. And finally, after a while as he was the hardest man to find, Billy the Kid called upon the Young Guns again, their youthful fire lit once again to ride out on an adventure. Together, these men of legend prepared to answer the call of destiny, to defend a town, and perhaps save the West itself from the encroaching darkness. As the sun dipped below the horizon the stage was set for a confrontation that would echo through history. The heroes of old were moving once again, drawn to the heart of Fort Destiny, where their final stand awaited. ***** A historic meeting happened three months later at a large farm house that stood on the outskirts of Fort Destiny. The leaders of the Peaky Blinders, the Mafia, and the Yakuza stood in a tense circle, the air heavy with the promise of power and the threat of violence. Their men stood a distance away, cautiously eyeing each other as well as keeping watch over their leaders. Tommy Shelby of the Peaky Blinders, eyes cold and calculating, broke the silence with his broad Birmingham accent. "We're not here to be turned away by a bunch of cowboys playing heroes. Fort Destiny is ours for the taking. We'll establish our operations here and expand further than ever before." The next to speak was Don Vincenzo, the Mafia boss, his voice smooth but laced with menace. He nodded. "Tommy's right. We've come too far to be stopped now. The Earps, Billy, those so-called Magnificent Seven—they're just men. Men bleed. We'll take this town and show them the true meaning of power." His fist clenched with anger as he spoke those last words. Kazuo, the stoic leader of the Yakuza, spoke with measured calm, his words deliberate. "Honor demands we face our enemies with strength and resolve. This town represents more than territory; it's a symbol of our reach and influence. We will proceed with precision and discipline. The shadows will be our allies." Arthur Shelby, standing beside his brother, clenched his fists, his voice rough with anticipation. "Let them have their moment. When we're done, the name Peaky Blinders will be feared from here to the shores of England. This town's just the beginning." Don Vincenzo, turning to face the others, his expression one of cold determination, added, "We've dealt with resistance before. We've always come out on top. This time will be no different. We'll crush them beneath our boots, and then, Fort Destiny will be nothing but a footnote in the future of our great alliance." Kazuo, his gaze unwavering, concluded, "We must not underestimate our enemies. They have come together for a reason. But in unity, we find our greatest strength. Tonight, we move as one force, unbreakable and relentless." The air crackled with the energy of impending conflict and, as they stepped out into the night, the gangsters' silhouettes merged with the soldiers of their respective organisations. ***** The sun was setting when the heroes gathered in the large saloon in the middle of Fort Destiny. Its name was aptly The Destiny’s Edge Saloon, promising much for the battle ahead. The air was thick with anticipation and the scent of dust and whisky. The room was still, all the West’s finest gunslingers sitting or standing and awaiting the battle that was to come. All had faced countless battles before, the those stories were etched in the lines of their faces and the grips of their guns. Chris Adams was the leader of the Magnificent Seven. He leaned against the bar, his gaze steady and was the first to speak. "We're not just fighting for this town," he said, his voice low and firm. "We're fighting for what it stands for. Freedom. A place to call our own. They think they can just take that away?" Wyatt Earp, standing next to him, nodded in agreement. "You're right, Chris. This land was built on principles. Principles these outlaws don't care about. My brothers and I, we've faced down the lawless before. We'll do it again." Doc Holliday was sitting at a table with a large whisky in front of him. His demeanor was relaxed but his eyes sharp, and flashed a grin as Wyatt spoke. "Gentlemen, it seems we are all dancing with the devil tonight. But if we are to dance, let's make it a waltz they'll never forget." A lighthearted and almost manic laugh split the somber mood, as Billy the Kid stood up. "I like your style, Doc. These fancy gangsters won't know what hit 'em. We'll show 'em how the West was won, again." Vin from the Magnificent Seven clapped Billy on the back. "That's the spirit. We might come from different places, have different methods, but we've got one thing in common. We don't ever bow down to tyrants." Chris stepped forward, his voice rising just enough to carry to every corner of the room. "Tonight, we ride as one. Against a common enemy. For a common cause. We stand as the last line of defense, and if we stand together, we will not fall." The room fell silent, the weight of the moment settling on each man's shoulders. Then, as one, they nodded, a silent pact forged in the fading light. Each ready to give his life in what lay ahead. As they filed out of the saloon, the clink of spurs and the cocking of guns were the only farewells. Under the starlit sky of the wild west, these heroes marched towards destiny, united by a bond as indomitable as the land they sought to protect. ***** There you have it folks, hope you enjoyed it! This is the big showdown at the Fort Destiny which sees: The Defenders: The Earp Brothers & Holliday: Wyatt, Virgil and Morgan Earp + Doc Holliday The Regulators (Young Guns): Billy the Kid, “Doc” Scurlock, Chavez, Stephens, Bowdre, Garrett The Magnificent Seven: Chris Adams, Vin Tanner, Chico, Bernardo O’Reilly, Lee, Harry Luck, Britt + 20 gun bearing townsfolk The 37 defenders have plenty of pistols and rifles and have had 2 weeks to fortify the town with traps and have placed people in strategic positions. Traps can include some limited dynamite, as well as trip wires and holes that have been dug. Versus The Gangsters: The Peaky Blinders: Tommy, Arthur and John + 15 Peaky Blinders Mafia: Don Vincenzo (made up for this story) + 25 Mafia soldiers Yakuza: Kazuo (made up for this story) + 1 senior advisor (with an assistant) + 5 kyodai (seasoned professional yakuza) + 10 Yakuza soldiers. The 61 attackers will attack at dawn. They’ll attack from the north and the east (as the other areas are heavily walled or have cliffs). They will be mainly on foot, although 5 of the Peaky Blinders will have horses. The Senior Advisor of the Yakuza is a non-combatant but will be able to keep an eye on the battle and his assistant can help coordinate the attack. All other members of the Gangsters are participating in the attack and are armed with guns and rifles (no automatic weapons). The “Kyodai” will also have some stealth training and will be armed with katanas as well as guns and are ordered to attack the key members of the defenders. Can the gunslingers and the townsfolk save their town in an incredible last stand, or will the West be transformed forever by this deadly Gangster alliance. Fort Destiny is in your hands.
  12. A completely random encounter between these two powerhouses of destruction.
  13. I mean... fair enough but that kind of scales sups automatically to above one of the most powerful DB characters ever. True, but he has casually survived a universe destruction of his own making, and beings who are planet busters and beyond (and who I'd argue are perhaps comparable to sups) are terrified of him. Not here to defend DB though - just the whole thing feels a bit odd. It's like the question being Goku goes to the Marvel universe and kameyameha's the face off The One Above All, now how would he face against the rest of Marvel. Anyway, am leaning towards DBU - but not sure as this version of Sups seems like he could take it! PS, 5 rating as I can't wait to see where this goes from here!
  14. Slightly leaning towards Pennywise as well. Whilst I think in terms of pure power and abilities Beetlejuice may have this, but he can't match Pennywises' pure evil and manipulation.
  15. "Superman fired his heat vision that causes Zeno's head to explode." Wait.... what?
  16. Fun setup and good matchup. Homelander's comments about Juggernaut are pure gold 😆. I think Homelander will make the mistake of getting too close, at which point Juggernauts superior strength and durability will come into play - Juggs for the win.
  17. I think that Kong has this one, mainly due to battle experience. He grew up on that island fighting all sorts of monsters whereas George grew up in captivity (if I recall correctly). Great setup and matchup
  18. The Green Death – (Interlude) – THE CBUB FANTASY SEASON 13 CROSSOVER Continued from: Part 1: Killer Croc vs King Shark Part 2: Zombie Spider-Man vs Vampire Batman Part 3: Brainiac vs Iron Man Part 4: The Tenth Doctor vs John Constantine --------------------------------------------------- When the apocalypse came, it came not from the skies or with a ranging fire as was prophesied. It came instead invisibly, transmitting from person to person, without any symptoms and without any pain until it was too late. The Green Death they called it; after the gentle hue of the skin of the infected, and our greatest minds could do nothing to stop or even slow it. Every mammal was infected, even the aliens. Human, Kryptonian, Amazonian, Asguardian or Mutant; they all fell. It spread quicker that we could have anticipated, seeming to transmit as quickly by water as it could by air or touch. Our leaders and heroes were gone before we even knew there was a danger, and the world seemed to turn on itself. Countries blamed each other, or pointed the finger at outsiders and what the virus had not ravaged, we destroyed ourselves. Nukes, lasers, and energy blasts levelled cities, and the skies burned red with the fires of destruction. And just when we thought it couldn't get any worse, it did. The Green Death wasn't finished with us yet. From the mass graveyards and condemned houses, the dead rose once again. They shuffled, walked and ran, driven by a primordial need to consume flesh. Mindlessly they hunted us down and dragged us kicking and screaming out of our hiding places and ripped us to shreds. About one in a one thousand of us was immune, and we banded together in small groups to see out this apocalypse. In the ruined husks of our great cities, we run, hide, forage, and die. This is our life now. --------------------------------------------------- Extracts from the diary of Kyle Hawthorne Most of us died in those first few years, but those that didn’t never put the trauma behind us. It lives with us every day as we hide in shelters across the world, daring only to venture out when the need for food, water or other essentials drives us to. We may never know why we few were spared when the very gods and heroes themselves were struck down, but we were. That must mean something doesn’t it? Maybe not, who knows! All I know is that I survive, I “live” – ha! If you can call it “living”, in this nightmarish world and I carry on. I’ve seen loved ones torn to shreds; I’ve seen heroes rise and defend the vulnerable; and I’ve seen death everywhere. And somehow – I survived. My latest brush with death was in an old, abandoned mansion, when a British man (sorcerer?) tried to drain the life from me to reach out to what he described as the cause of the Green Death. The Doctor arrived just in time and saved me, but not without severe damage to his Tardis. “I’m stuck here with you now” he had said sadly, then had smiled and winked and gone looking for some food. We made progress in those first few months, strengthening the mansion and turning it into a good base of operations. In time, a few more survivors joined us, finding their way through the madness. The Doctor built walls with gadgets in them around the mansion, using whatever spare equipment he could salvage. We went on missions to find random parts for him, to “keep those wee beasties out!” as he’d shout happily as he built more and more elaborate contraptions. But keep them out those inventions did. When a turned Namora had arrived at our gates, her dried up skin the putrid green of the life ending disease of our land, the mansion defences has flared to life and in an instant, she had disappeared with a snarl on her lips. “I’ve sent her to the North Pole” the Doctor had laughed as he checked his sonic screwdriver. “Anyone who’s infected that comes close enough will be sent to a random place far away. Hopefully to find a better life, just not near us!”. I’d almost like to call those good days, but it’s all relative isn’t it. They were tough days, for certain, but nothing compared to the terror filled existence we’d had before the Doctor and his mansion. There were nearly 60 of us at this point, all living in the expansive mansion hidden behind the Doctor’s technology. We even got back the internet! He managed to link the remnants of the Tardis into the remaining satellites and gave us back a world that we had all thought lost. Photos of busy cities, songs by our favourite artists, even emails from our long dead loved ones – suddenly we had a link to the past. I cried for nearly a week solid as I went through the pictures I could find online of my old life, of my old family. ----- Then one of the survivors, I don’t even remember his name, had a turn at the computer and it all went wrong. He described it as “CBUB” or “Magnetic Ferret” – something we’d never heard of. But it had been his passion before the fall of the world, so we listened to his tales of epic fan-written clashes between the heroes and villains we had known. Some of us tried to tell him to stop, especially those whose loved ones had fallen victim to the undead super powered beings who had succumbed to the Green Death. I had barely survived encounters with them myself, having run from the hunger of Killer Shark and a zombified Spiderman and the devastation of Brainiac. I tried not to judge as he rambled on, and showed anyone who was willing (which wasn’t many people) this website, but I did notice the Doctor looking at him thoughtfully. But finally, one of the group had had enough. Jake was a young man from LA, and had lost his brother when an undead Flash had torn through the city. Ten thousand lives had been lost in about ten minutes, all before anyone even knew what was happening. He had pushed the CBUB fan, shouting at him to stop talking about these monsters who had caused so much pain. But the guy just didn’t get it – he shouted back, giving as good as he took, about how great it had been. There had even been a competition, a great challenge where they got to choose a bunch of characters who were then matched off in hilarious scenarios. There had been the Wishmaster in a costume contest against Robot Santa Claus, the Doctor (here he pointed at the Doctor, who I noticed was now looking uncomfortable) in an invention competition against the Unstoppable Wasp, Drizzt the elf had hunted Discord the spirit of chaos, and even a Terminator had hunted the god Chaos but only with ACME products! He had laughed at this point, his excitement coming through. “STOP!” shouted the Doctor suddenly, silencing both him and Jake who had been about to retort. “You must stop – those beings you are talking about, it’s all making sense now!” I asked the Doctor what he was talking about, and he turned to me as he held up his sonic screwdriver. “Those beings, Chaos and Discord, they are real somewhere. There is a void that exists between parallel universes that normally keeps things nice and separate. It’s a dark empty space that is filled with nothingness, no matter, energy or time and no life can survive there. Except beings who are so powerful that they can ignore the laws of physics and time entirely.” The sonic screwdriver was now emitting a loud whirling noise and the Doctor was spinning as he spoke. “Those creatures you were talking about don’t just thrive on chaos, they EMBODY it. And this world has gone through so much chaos over the last few years with the Green Death that it is literally covered in it. Chaos Matter? Cosmic Conundrums? Wibbly-wobbly wonders? I don’t know what to call it, but it is overflowing with the stuff. And when you write or talk about those creatures, in a place like this – they take notice!” --- Suddenly the earth shook as something seemed to compress the very air around us. Rifts formed in the sky and impossible patterns seems to swirl all around us. Laughter filled the air as a cat-like being appeared, his eyes spinning in a mesmerising yellowish display. Next to him, with a chuckle, appeared a draconic figure who immediately started changing shape. They looked at each other and both instantly recognised the other from an unspoken knowledge that only such powerful beings have. Communication went between them, and it was only when the Doctor adjusted his screwdriver that we could make out their words. Chaos, inclining his head slightly, a gesture of acknowledgment and challenge, stated, "Let us then weave a tapestry of turmoil that this world will never forget." Discord, with a grin that split the air itself, replied, "Oh, I do love a good challenge. Let the games begin, and may the best embodiment of chaos win." They both looked down at us and said “Begone”. Immediately the Doctor’s defences turned on us instead of those infected by the Green Death, and we were all transported to separate locations far across the world. ---- If you find this diary, I am making my way across the border into the US. If you were one of the mansion survivors, know that I am looking for the Doctor. Look for him as well, and if we find him, we will rebuild the community as it was and hopefully return back to those happier days once again. Good luck. --------------------------------------------------- Summary Discord and Choas, in a competition of pure chaos. They can do anything to win – even if it means killing the other. The rules are anything they want them to be.
  19. Ah it probably has been done. I ran a quick search in the forums for Sportmaster and Jones and nothing came up, but seems an obvious matchup. Yeah, Casey is definitely an opportunist.
  20. Could Mewtwo's psychic abilities stand a chance against Beerus's sheer destructive power and skills?
