"Maybe I should go to the med bay." Omega muttered. He walked past a room with a plaque on it saying "FLIGHT BRIEFING ROOM". Omega peeked in. "Holy crap! Excalibur!" He exclaimed, a smile on his face for the first time in a while.

*Alice: The Commander visibly winces as the horn blares, that was going to take getting used to.

"Thank you for that Lt. Jansen..." she says with clenched teeth before glancing over the rest of the room. She waited for the salutes so she could quickly get that out of the way.

*Destiny: "Well that's something." Destiny grunts a she notes the horn blowing. She wonders who had that idea before turning and doing as instructed rather quickly. Best get it over with nice and quick.

*Larkin: The recruit stayed at attention the entire time. When the Major gave a stare in his direction, he didn't move a muscle, save for fighting a reflex to wag his tail. He was exited and anxious. He was expecting some ball-busting, or at least some order to do something, boot camp got him used to that. Of course when there were some talks bout some of the more veteran soldiers, his ears couldn't help but pick them up. It was a habit, but only a slight twitch of his left ear was a visible tell. He stayed still as he casually picked through bits of conversation. When Omega...relapsed is the best word Larkin would use to describe, he only looked in the direction with his eyes. After he left, he heard the other two share more conversation. When the larger daedalian leaves, Larkin is curious and follows him with his gaze. He was big, old, and scarred....worth looking into later. He watches the doo way for a few seconds before focusing back straight ahead. This was a little awkward.

Medical Bay: "Yes sir, thankfully the crew is practicing good hygeine and that always goes a long way." The nurse replied. "Is there anything you need from me right now?" She asked.

He shook his head.

"No, things should be quiet. I don't anticipate many emergency cases around here today, but do let me know if my expertise will be needed?"

And reaching for a military bible, he began to read from his bookmarked page.

Redfield

Jason smiled as Lonergan put his own personal touch onto the speech. He was hoping Jake would catch him teeing that up. After all, they had to keep the Marines in check. Too much confidence could be a bad thing. It wasn't so much a good cop bad, cop approach as always remembering to combine inspiration with discipline. The Marines would come to accept it in time and the discipline was more well-received from an experienced senior NCO like Lonergan that the troops could relate to than a commissioned officer like "Wright".

Jace caught Omega's episode out of the corner of his eye and moved quickly to control the situation. The last thing they needed was a scene. As the mercenary left, Redfield spoke aloud. "I expect complete professionalism and discretion from each of you in the coming days. I trust you won't let Master Guns or I down. Dismissed."

As the Marines began to file out, Jason saw the Security C/O, Higgins, approaching. "My goodness, I don't know which of us has the most imposing recruits," he said. Jason smirked. "Got that right, Lieutenant. It's a good thing they're on the same side," he remarked lightheartedly. "Should make a hell of a team."

"If they get along. Marines usually feel like the biggest kid on the playground...with good reason but still. There might be a few scuffles here and there, lots of bragging I predict but their hearts are in the right place." Lonergan noted.

It took a few seconds for Charles to put the pieces together.

Sphinx....Sphinx....

Then it struck him. "Bloody hell, you're Riddler and Shmirdra's kid aren't you? I'll be dammed. Last time I saw you, you were just a baby. I can barely beleive that Riddler allowed you...no no, that Shmirdra allowed you to enlist." It then struck Charles that his conversational manner may strike the wrong cord with some of the other pilots. Charles quickly corrected his pose before speaking, "Well then Mr. Sphinx, we'll have to catch up later, welcome to the crew. Who's next?"

It was then that he heard his name shouted. He looked around and saw the familier face of Omega. He completely ignored the last point he had made about remaining a leader.

Besides, he's an old friend. Charles reasoned.

"Omega! How are you old chap? It's been a while since we've seen each other."

Larkin was...almost disappointed as they were courteously dismissed. That was just weird to him. As everyone stated to leave, Larkin taps Satheera on the shoulder. Since the Major had started chatting up the other officer' he figure they wouldn't go unnoticed.

"Hey, whaddya say we stick around...see if we get have something interesting happen." he whispers enthusiastically while subtly gesturing towards the Major.

Matlock

Vincent raised his eyebrows. "Not at all," he replied evenly before casting another glance at the Marine C/O addressing his troops. He could see some of the security personnel getting restless in the face of the Marine's speech. So much for everyone getting along.

"Glad to hear it." Garrigan responded, his tone respectful. He briefly considered adding some sort of snide remark, but quickly thought better of it.

All of a sudden, blinding orange pain shot through Omega's vision. His head felt like it would tear open at the seams, "AAAAGH!" Omega yelled out loud. Images flashing through his head. The whole room dead. Blood everywhere. On his weapons. A massacre. Redfield, the Marines, the guards. Blood on his shirt. "AHHHHH!" A Sh'ra tongue flickering in front of him. Ingram, his head blown off. Blood everywhere. The floor. Oh my God. The Sh'ra eating the remains. Look down, find a claw through the chest. "AARRRGGGHHH!!!"

Omega fell back on the cases, the room flashed in between reality and a gory vision. Heads flashed from normal to skulls. Omega closed his eyes. Still there. Burning. After a few seconds, the visions blurred away, leaving only an intense pain. The same intense pain. He picked up his guns and looked at the marines. "The f*ck are you looking at?" With that, he left, heading down the hallway.

The commotion caused by Omega drew Garrigan's attention, eliciting a chuckle from the man. "Well, I wasn't aware the Alliance were enlisting lunatics now." he commented. "Has he been cleared for duty? What if he has another panic attack in the middle of a firefight?" he asked respectfully, the question directed towards Wright and Lonergan.

"Yes," the huge Pantheurian said in a deep voice with an accent denoting where he was raised, "this could become a problem." He'd stick around for a short time to hear Lonergan's or Redfield's response, then go to do a little bit of training if nothing exciting happened.

Naomi saluted the captain, using her human arm. If she was rather closely observed, she'd seem... older. Not in looks, but in mentality. "Naomi Wu, sir. No callsign." She'd say when the time was right, or when it was her turn.

"Not since we flew that escort mission together. Man, you remember that? You almost got your ass killed!" Omega noticed Excalibur's limp. "And don't you look worse for wear, huh." He looked at the pilots, "You guys are lucky. Best wingman I've ever had. Once you get past that weird accent. I might join you on some flying missions pal, just like old times, but I lost my 3 billion credit plane, and you can imagine how hard it is for me to fly a ship without laser swords on the wingtips."

"Eh. He's a private contractor. I'm afraid I'm just a humble marine, I keep my own in line. The big guys in charge surely must have cleared him, they hired him...but I confess I am a bit wary after that episode. In any case, I must get going. I need some chow. Gonna go find the mess hall, excuse me Major." Lonergan said as he started to depart.

Jason frowned at Harrigan's question, looking the contractor up and down. "I'm sure the higher-ups wouldn't have cleared him if they felt he couldn't handle the stress. He received the same psychological screening as everyone else."

The truth was, Jace was worried about Omega's relapse. Not only because he genuinely worried about the well-being of the man, but also because it was a firm reminder of what fate could befall Redfield. God knew he'd seen enough on and off the battlefield for it to manifest.

Matlock

Matlock approached Larkin and the Selurian from behind. His arms were crossed in front of his bulky chest as he cleared his throat. "Something holding you up? I believe you were dismissed, Marines. Unless there's something I can help you with," Vincent spoke clearly and without malice. His gaze, however, was unblinking.

Garrigan kept his eyes affixed on the Major's. "You have a point. Still, if the cause of the hallucination is psychological scarring, there's a strong chance that temporary bouts of insanity, like what we just witnessed, could occur... infrequently, at best. If he lost it while engaging the enemy, he could prove to be a major liability."

He paused for a moment. "I've seen first-hand what war can do to a man. I'm sure you have as well, Major. I don't doubt that he's a capable soldier - but it might be best to keep an eye on him... make sure he doesn't snap."

The Bridge: All of the other's would stand and salute as well, and Jansen took note of the ones that weren't snappy enough of it. "Lt. Commander Jansen. Reporting that all is well."

Meanwhile the Pantheurian across from Destiny seemed to have found something interesting, "Mhrr?" She said softly as she fiddle with controls. The pilot next to Naomi would sigh befire returning to his controls he was just acting like he was busy though he always hated it when higher ups came on watch, made him nervous.

Training Range: "What? Trying to cozy up to the command? Think that will get you promoted faster?" Satheera said jockingly and then Matlock would address them. "Oh sorry sir, we didn't realize we HAD to leave. I thought we might get some target practice in." Her tone was respectful except when she emphasised HAD.

Lt. Higgins meanwhile was listening to the conversation, "Perhaps we should take our concerns up the chain of command? I share yur sentiment, Mr. Garrigan. However the Major does bring a valid point, he must have been cleared for duty. Though perhap this is a new development?"

Flight Briefing Room: Deardra was actualy elated that Excalibur knew him, his parents always held him in high regard he was even best man at the wedding. He understood the need to stay profesional though. Then Omega poked his head again, and there they were TWO old comrades from his parents stories, they were older now and even battered but they were there in the flesh.

Cl'tin meanwhile looked on, Just great. A couple of has beens burning the fuel, a talking reg manual and a leader's pet. He thought to himself, he however kept his thoughts to himself.

Solus: The large Daedalian could smell scents wafting from somewhere close by, he probably didn't notice Maharil the pantheurian.

Medical Bay: Pastor would be left to his own devices for a time before the nurse interrupted him, "Sorry to bother you sir, but I think we have a hypochondriach who keeps insisting that there's something wrong with him. I've run all the tests, but either he doesen't beleive me or he thinks i'm not qualified."

Guest He who fights monsters

Anders was still oddly stoic. He was as weapon in the form of a human. Whatever was the order, he would take it. Anders was just waiting for orders. Still, there was grim determination.

*Alice: The Commander gives a nod before saluting back. She drops it when Jansen and the others appear satisfied.

"Excellent Lt., as you were." she says aloud so the others could get back to their business. She then looks right to Jansen. "So how has your morning been." she asks straight to him. The first while had been a little too formal for her liking, but he seemed like a good fellow.

*Destiny: The Warrant Officer quickly went back to her work, which meant waiting around and occasionally looking over to the Pantheurian's work. As tat happened, she caught the slight confusion on her face. Curiously, she glances over, making sure to whisper so no one was disturbed in case it was nothing. She also tried not to startle her or make her mess up as she worked. Destiny personally hated that.

"Something wrong?" she asks politely, trying to come off as someone who didn't have a stick up her ass. She glances back to Jansen as the hag get's her attention. "Anything worth reporting?" she adds curiously while looking towards the machine itself.

*Larkin: The Daedalian PFC takes the jest in stride. In all honesty though, his intentions were a lot more innocent. "Well, no it's ju-" he starts to say when Matlock takes some interest and interjects himself into the conversation. He turns to face the Master-at-arms, noting he was a rather big man. Larkin wonders how to answer, visibly clamporing up a bit, and is somewhat glad when Satheera comes up with one first. He grins widely when she I done talking.

"What my friend here said. Just hoping to break in this place, it's got that new room scent if you haven't noticed." he says, almost spacing out as he takes another whiff. Realizing that he, shakes it off. "...but yeah, simply wished to wind down, haven't really done much since getting on the ship...erm, sir."

Solus passed by Maharil with out a word. Just a quick glance. He headed over to the gymnasium for a warm up. Needed to make sure he was up enough to deal with any problems that might arise.

"A pity, good thing we don't have anyone to fight anymore, except for pirate rings of course. Anyways, I'd best get back to introductions with the pilots. We'll have to have a few rounds in the mess hall later and catch up." That said, Charles turned back towards the podium and announced, "Well then, we have Hellcat and Lynx. Who's next?"

OOC: If you don't wanna rp the other characters Merc, just let me know their callsigns or something and that'll be good enough.

Omega gave an informal salute and stepped back into the hallway. Damn, everything's brand new. I wonder how much this thing costs... Where the hell is the med bay? Omega rounded the corner and stepped into the med bay's waiting room. He hailed a nurse, "Can I see the Doc?"

Redfield

Jason grunted. "We'll cross that bridge when we come to it... if we come to it. Until then, we should keep from causing a scene. It'll be bad for morale if the men think they're sharing the ship with an insane merc of all things."

The Marine glanced around the bay. "I should be going. Good speaking with you, gentlemen," Redfield said, taking his leave. He caught a small collection of people off to the side of the bay: the large Master-At-Arms and two of his Marines. He didn't approach them, simply crossing his arms and watching the scene unfold from afar.

Matlock

Matlock raised his eyebrows. "Fair enough, Marines. Just trying to keep you out of trouble. It's my job, after all. Besides, those C/Os of yours don't look like the kind you want to get angry. As you were."

Larkin: "Thank you sir!" Larkin says quickly before anything else can occur, almost cutting off Matlock. The kid was enthusiastic, though whether or not Matlock took it that was up to him. Larkin looked around at the ranges themselves and saw plenty of rom, apparently everyone else left for other work. The Daedalian motions towards the range politely. He was just getting over the initial meeting that left him a bit nervous, and he thought it might be good idea to be nice towards the man he'd be working with most likely. Break the ice so to speak.

"Umm sir, if you don't have any other plans then perhaps you would like to join us in plinking some targets? Maybe put up a friendly wager?" he says with a wide smile. After a second, and not expecting a laugh from the Master-At-Arms, he quickly loses the grin. "Or not...." he says awkwardly. In his confusion, he is not aware of the Major keeping an eye on the scenario.

I've run all the tests, but either he doesen't beleive me or he thinks i'm not qualified."

*Thump*

Closing his book, he frowned and raised himself up from his seat as he sighed and adjusted his collar before waving a hand at the nurse mid-protest.

"Its quite alright Nurse, I'll see what I can do then. My compliments by the way for handling it best you can. Is he in the waiting room?"

If replied to the affirmative he would return.

"Please, send him to the examination room and I'll see what I can do."

Hank gave a courteous nod to the Major as he made his exit. "It could very well be a new development," he mused in response to Higgins, "maybe just being on this ship is eliciting memories of the Sh'ra war. He served on the original Starfire, correct?"

Bridge: Alice/Jansen: The question caught Jansen a bit off guard it was so informal, "Uh, my morning has been productive, touring the ship and such."

Destiny: The Pantheurian regarded destiny with a pair of gold eyes, "I'm not sure what exactly to make of it. Some kind of comm. signal. But it's not any I'm familar with, doesen't match any naval or merchant codes." The Pantheurian flicked her tail. "It's interesting."

Martyr: The Selurian would be left to herself though if she was paying attention she could hear several conversations.

Naomi: The Xyl pilot went back to his controls next to her, "So been in the service long?" He asked her.

Training Range: Redfield/Garrigan Lt. Higgins nodded at what the Major said, a crazy merc was something that probably needed to be kept hush hush for the moment anyway. Upon hearing Garrigan's question he frowned, "If i remember right her served aboard the cruiser Corsair the ship had a fighter squadron called Starfire which he served with, and this ship is named after the squadron." He glanced around at those who were listening, "I do my research." He explained.

Larkin/Satheera/Matlock: Satheera glanced at Larkin, asking an officer to hang out was a bit inappropriate at least that was what she'd been told. She kept her mouth shut though.

Tora/Anders: The large pantheurian and the quiet human were left to their own devices what they chose to do now was entirely up to them. If they wanted to use the range their was a line forming up at the rear to check weapons out with the armourers. Or if they chose to leave for another part of the ship they could do that as well.

Flight Briefing Room: The other pilots stood up, first was Cl'tin: "Ensign, Cl'tin callsign Talon. I've already got one kill to my name and I'm going to be the first to make ace." He declared proudly. Deardra flicked his tail in disapproval. The human male suddenly stood up then, "Wow, your callsign should be hotshot. As for myself I'm Ensign Lee, callsing Cutthroat."

The last pilot stood up then she was a young female human who appeared to be of asian descent, "Ensign, Lin. Callsign Lilly." Her manner and tone seemed to speak for herself she was a no nonsense pilot.

Solus: The large Daedalian would find himself in the gymn, crewmen were lifting weights, or running treadmills. A few were on mats practicing hand to hand combat. From somewhere else there was the sound of someone playing raquetball.

Medical Bay: The nurse went to comply when Omega stormed in, "Is this an emergency?" She asked him. Pastor would probably be able to hear what was going on outside.

Noting he didn't feel like shooting right now, he made his way into the gym, and noticing Solus, waved him down. "Hey, you feel like sparring?" He'd wait for the large Daedalian to answer, expectantly staring at him with his green eyes.

Naomi shrugged. "A while... you could say." She didn't really want to give too much away. Her superiors knew, the ones who had tested her, but no one else on board except the higher-ups, really.
