Leonardo swung his ninjaken in his left hand across over from left to right in a double slash attack as he took aim for his opponent’s mid-section, before he then would swing Haohmaru’s katana vertically down as he set to strike down from the top of Blair Dame’s head. Blair immediately hopped back away from the incoming sword and then dashed to her right, quickly evading the katana with sufficient timing and speed. Leonardo then leaned forward, and he snapped his right leg out in a front kick to firmly plant and impact the white leotard clad woman directly in her mid-section, but Blair quickly raised her arms, and she crossed her forearms, blocking the incoming foot. In retaliation, the woman responded by jabbing her left arm out and pumped her right arm as she aimed her fists to move in for Leonardo’s face before she raised her right leg up and arced it across for the mutant Red Ear Slider’s head, and added to her combination by turning in a spin and she swung her left leg back across in a spinning back wheel kick for her opponent’s face, intending on blasting her ankle hard across his face. Leonardo quickly weaved out of the path of the incoming fists, only to sudden lean back away from the incoming kicks.

Spinning his swords, Leonardo then gripped the handles firmly in his grasps only to then turn with his hips and he thrust his left arm outward as he set on batting the blunt end of his ninjaken handle directly for Blair’s nose region. Following with this, the red masked field leader then jabbed his right arm outward— intending to strike at the woman’s solar plexus with the handle of Haohmaru’s sword. Blair quickly raised her arms out, using her forearms to take the incoming strikes and deflect them away from herself. Leonardo then swung his right leg horizontally across to the left, only to firmly impact Blair’s side with a solid roundhouse kick before he pulled his leg back and snapped with a swift side kick aimed for the white leotard clad fighter’s mid-section.

“Nnngh!” Blair grunted from the roundhouse kick as it impacted her but then gasped out when the side kick managed to land itself onto her abdominal region, causing her to widen her eyes as she lurched forward.

Leonardo then turned in a spin and he swung his arms down, slashing both his ninjaken and the katana vertically downward for the top of Blair’s head. Seeing this, Blair quickly pushed herself back and dropped into a roll as she evaded the two swords, quickly moving herself away from Leonardo.

The red masked ninja already was on a good offensive start, and he decided to capitalize on that as he pounced at his opponent. Leonardo raised both his swords overhead, now swinging his arms down and slashed his swords for Blair as if he were aiming to bisect her. The Monacan woman widened her eyes as she dashed to her right and dodged the swords, feeling the breeze the two weapons produced as they moved to the ground. Leonardo landed feet first, hunching upon landing as he slowly turned his head to Blair keeping a watchful eye on her. Blair quickly rushed in at Leonardo, now thrusting a fierce straight from her right at the Turtle’s face before turning to her right and moving her left arm across in a spinning backfist. Blair added to her assault as she then leaned forward with her weight and then snapped her right leg outward and firmly impacted the heel of her boot directly into Leonardo’s plastron, pushing him back as she proceeded on with her own offense.

Blair then swung her left leg down across to the right, firmly striking Leonardo across his knees before she brought her leg back across to the left while raising it, striking Leonardo across his face and then pulled back, snapping her leg down in a low roundhouse kick once more and raising it in a high roundhouse— kicking Leonardo at his mid-section and head, before she shifted forward and snapped her right leg outward in a side kick.

“SHOOT KICK! HIYAH!” Blair shouted.

Leonardo was taken off guard by Blair’s speed and precision as he suddenly felt himself experiencing several impacts, and now was sent flying back five feet before gravity pulled him down and slammed onto his rear. But the red masked field leader of the Turtles immediately pushed himself to his feet as he planted his hands to the terminal floor. Blair came rushing at Leonardo as she leapt through the air, now raising her right leg up as high as she could bring it only to make it come down like a violent speeding comet.

The red masked mutant hopped to his left and allowed Blair to pass by him as she slammed her heel to the terminal floor, causing it to briefly tremor. He flipped his swords, once again holding them in reverse as he gripped the handles in grasp before he thrust his left arm outward as he took aim at Blair’s forehead. However, the Monacan woman leaned to her left, but Leonardo swung his right arm across, and he firmly batted the blunt handle directly into the side of the white leotard clad fighter’s head. Seeing his opponent distracted with the brief stun she seemed to be experiencing, Leonardo leaned forward, and he moved his right shoulder out, now ramming into Blair and sending her crashing towards the ground.

However, Blair wasn’t one to stay down so easily.

The white leotard clad woman bolted to her feet, and she ran right at Leonardo, only to now punch her left arm out, followed by her right before jabbing with her right again. Finally, she swung her left arm across to the right as she aimed for the mutant Terrapin’s face with a mighty hook punch before she would weave from side to side, aiming to confuse Leonardo. The red masked Terrapin crossed his forearms out in front of himself, blocking the first few punches but then he quickly moved into attack— only for Blair to execute her Shoot Upper technique, as she swiftly brought her left arm up followed by her right in two uppercuts, firmly impacting Leonardo directly in his chin, sending the Turtle briefly airborne. Leonardo felt his teeth lingering with pain as he flew up, followed by a sense of brief weightlessness. Seeing an opportunity, Blair pounced forward as she thrust her right knee upward, firmly impacting the Turtle in his plastron, juggling him while in mid-air before she snapped her left leg out, her foot now striking Leonardo in his chin.

“LIGHTNING KNEE!”

Leonardo was slammed down by gravity as he hit the terminal floor with a resounding thud as his carapace contacted the surface. He threw his weight back and rolled back to his feet, firmly gripping his ninjaken and Haohmaru’s katana in his hands. This woman was tenacious, that much he had to give her, and she was skilled. But he had come too far for the journey to end here.

“That girl is good, really good!” Michelangelo exclaimed.

“Yeah, she’s a focused one! Definitely stronger than she looks!” Donatello responded.

Raphael on the other hand kept his fiery gaze on Leonardo, curious to see how he would cope with such an opponent as Blair Dame. The Turtles had realized some time ago that this tournament was full of surprises, fighters who were capable of utilizing superhuman feats and abilities tapped only by a latent energy from within. And all the brothers had were what evolution had given them as ordinary Turtles, the enhanced physicality which their mutation had granted them, and the thorough training which Master Splinter had bestowed upon them. And already they had taken down some exceptionally powerful opponents from the various teams they had come across.

Blair quickly ran at Leonardo as she swung her right leg back across as she performed a spinning wheel kick for Leonardo’s head, but the Turtle quickly hunched down and he thrust his right arm’s elbow out— firmly striking Blair directly in her mid-section.

“GUH-HUH!!” Blair gasped as she felt pressure moving through her stomach, and it took a bit of effort to keep her lunch down from how strong Leonardo’s elbow strike happened to be.

Leonardo thrust his left arm up, striking the blunt end of his ninjaken directly into Blair’s chin as he gripped it in his left hand. He snapped his right leg down in a low roundhouse kick, firmly striking Blair’s left knee from the side before he brought it up and swung it at her mid-section, impacting the Monacan woman onto her side— causing Blair to flinch and cringe from the lingering sting of the second roundhouse kick. Leonardo then turned in a spin and he pushed himself to jump, only to then snap his left leg outward in a jumping thrust kick as he blasted his left foot directly into the middle of Blair’s chest. Blair’s eyes widened in pain as she felt her heart skipping a beat, and then she clumsily stumbled away from the red masked mutant Terrapin only to slam back first against the steps of the spiral staircase of the terminal. The red masked field leader of the Turtles rushed before pouncing, as he gripped both blades in hand and then slashed down at Blair.

Blair quickly rolled to her right, and then pounced ahead of herself as Leonardo’s blades struck through the steps which she was resting upon prior, leaving behind two deep scars. Leonardo turned to meet his opponent, only to thrust his left arm forward— moving the ninjaken outward in a stabbing thrust. Blair hopped to her right, quickly evading the ninjaken intended for her. Leonardo shifted with a step, and he swung Haohmaru’s katana across from right to left, aiming for Blair’s mid-section but the Monacan fighter hopped back just in time— watching only as the front of her white leotard received a cut along the fabric.

That was close. A little too close for Blair Dame’s liking.

Blair narrowed her eyes before she growled, now running at Leonardo before she leaned and dropped to a roll—only to kick her right leg out while essentially baseball sliding towards the red masked Turtle.

“SLIDING ARROW!”

Leonardo instead pushed himself forward and up, taking to the air before he threw his weight down and somersaulted over his opponent, landing behind the Monacan fighter. Leaning with his weight, Leonardo then snapped his left leg out for Blair’s chest, but the woman immediately crossed her arms out and took the brunt directly in the forearms. Leonardo pulled his leg back and shifted with his weight again before snapping his leg out in a side kick, again firmly striking Blair directly in her forearms once more. Quickly, the Turtle then thrust his arms forward, intending on striking Blair with the blunt ends of his sword handles. Blair widened her eyes as she then threw her arms up and disrupted Leonardo’s attacks as her forearms moved up against Leonardo’s wrists and created the opening which she needed. Blair felt a rush coursing through her body and decided to capitalize on it.

“MIRAGE COMBO KICK!”

Blair swiftly unleashed a series of quick jabs at Leonardo’s face, moving her right and left arm out twice before she then turned with her hips and swung her fists across— firmly striking the Turtle’s face. Blair shifted forward, intending on pushing Leonardo back with each impact which she had made. Afterwards, Blair then swung her left leg horizontally across to the left, firmly impacting Leonardo across his plastron protected mid-section before bringing it back across to the left in a reverse arc kick. She then snapped her left leg down across to the right, striking Leonardo’s knees with a strong roundhouse before she then snapped her left leg up in a high side kick, hitting the mutant Terrapin directly in the chin. Lastly, Blair turned in spin at blinding speed, and then snapped her right leg up and out, impacting Leonardo directly in the chin and sent the Turtle flying across the terminal.

Pain moved through Leonardo’s chin and rang through his head as he found himself hitting the ground. He took in a deep breath of air through his nostrils, now keeping his eyes open as he worked to fight through the discomfort. Blair was good, better than what he had anticipated. Leonardo wasn’t one to underestimate an opponent, but he certainly had been taken surprise by her.

The Turtle spun his swords, moving Haohmaru’s sword down to his utility belt and now slipped the weapon into the strap around his mid-section. He raised his left arm up and slipped the ninjaken back into the sheathe which was slung over his shoulder. Leonardo clenched his hands firmly into fists, and he readied himself as he watched Blair come running at him once more.

Blair quickly jabbed her left arm forward, intending to strike Leonardo’s face but the red masked Turtle moved his left hand out and slapped down at Blair’s fist. The white leotard clad woman thrust her right arm out, but like before, Leonardo would slap her fist down, deflecting the strike away. Blair leaned forward and she kicked her right leg out in a front kick, but the Turtle shifted forward and he immediately swung his left arm across in an inside outside fashion, his hand opened and flattened as he performed an intercepting ridge hand block and took hold of Blair’s ankle only to pull her in towards himself. Shifting to a side straddle stance in a fluid motion, Leonardo fiercely thrust his right arm out and blasted his fist directly into Blair’s center. The Monacan woman gasped and grunted in discomfort and pain as the pressure began to pile up inside of her, and she worked to fight the urge to retch.

Leonardo now drew upon the strength which he possessed as he tensed up the muscles within his entire body. He took in a single breath before he turned with his hips and unleashed a quick barrage of punches at his opponent. Leonardo’s fists were moving at speeds unprecedented, almost appearing as a blur to the eye. His fists would impact Blair’s body and face, and the Turtle continued with the assault.

“AAAAAAH!” Blair yelled as she was sent flying across a fair distance.

Blair’s body hit the floor of the terminal. She wearily blinked her eyes open and slowly moved to her knees, placing her hands onto the ground for support. With labored breaths, she tried to rise to her feet but found pain throbbing through her arms, shoulders and body. Blair continued to defy her body’s pleas as she worked to get back up to meet the challenge, but instead found herself to be slumping back onto her rear. Eventually, the effort proved to be too much even for someone as courageous as Blair Dame as she dropped onto her back and now laid on the terminal floor.

“Tres bien joue, Monsieur Tortue.” Blair whispered.

The Monacan woman’s eyes closed as her body finally gave out from the fight. She soon found herself drifting off to a slumber as she finally gave out completely.

Leonardo eased from his fighting stance, but he kept his fists clenched if he needed to continue with the battle. He looked down upon his fallen opponent and counted down from ten. When he reached zero, Leonardo just gave a simple nod of respect to the unconscious Blair Dame. The red masked ninja hunched down, now slipping his arms underneath Blair’s shoulders and legs, lifting her off the ground and he moved over to a nearby bench in the terminal, only to set her down onto it so that she would be able to rest a little easy.

“Well alright, I’d say we pretty much have this one in the bag!” Michelangelo exclaimed.

“Don’t get excited just yet, Mikey… We’ve still got one left to go.” Raphael responded.

Leonardo turned and now gazed over to his brothers before he looked over to the last remaining opponent. The skeleton themed zentai suited man flattened his hands and he set himself into a dynamic pose as he spoke loudly in Japanese.

“I am Skullomania, the hero who fights for justice!”

The four siblings just stared at the skeleton suited man and blinked at the awkwardness which he had set in. They had never really seen a man with such an odd presentation and personality. Apparently, from the gestures and the posture, the man seemed to present himself as some kind of superhero.

“Is this guy supposed to be some kind of Power Ranger?” Michelangelo asked.

“I don’t think it really matters… Don! You didn’t go yet… Want this one?” Raphael gruffly spoke.

Donatello shrugged his shoulders as he moved his right arm up, now taking hold of his metal electro-staff firmly in his grasp and drew the weapon out. He spun the weapon slowly within his hands before he gripped it and positioned the weapon forward as he took a step towards the skeleton themed hero.

“Well, I have been waiting patiently.” Donatello chuckled.

“You! You look like you have the potential to be a great hero!” Skullomania spoke. Japanese, obviously.

“Umm… My Japanese is a little rusty.” Donatello replied.

Leonardo stepped over to Michelangelo and Raphael, still taking the moment to observe Donatello’s would be opponent. The way this opponent seemed to just assert his personality and even pose was… comical but Leonardo had learned that in this tournament… nothing was ever what it seemed to be.

Both Donatello and Skullomania now stepped over towards the middle of the terminal area. The two merely stared at one another, sizing each other up.

“So, uh… Don’s going up against a Japanese superhero! Who would’ve thought?” Michelangelo grinned.

“Yeah, that’s… something.” Raphael replied nonchalantly.

Donatello gripped his metal bo-staff firmly in hand before he spun it in a figure eight motion, shifting the weapon over from right to left as he now snapped into his fighting stance. He swung the weapon down, tucking it underneath his right arm as he extended his left hand out—gesturing for Skullomania to come at him.

Skullomania thrust his arms out with his hands flattened as he set himself into another dynamic pose, and he too set himself into his own fighting stance.

The final match between the Turtles and Team EX would be decided between the brainy Turtle and the skeleton themed superhero.

The next match in my Mirage Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles storyline and the final battle between the Turtles and Team EX. Writing out the recap regarding the match between Leonardo and Blair was relatively easy to do as Blair had a better moveset reference compared to Cracker Jack, who just seemingly had one move just reflavored over and over again. Blair Dame definitely had the more interesting moveset as she had a variety of kicks and even utilized good combinations making her pretty versatile, and if anything, I tried my best to work that in the recap. To my surprise, Blair had a decent number of votes-- better than I thought and I figure that maybe she would've been something of a decent fight against someone like Leonardo. Hopefully, that conveyed in the recap.

And I know in the previous match, I said that I would have to make it up-- and I will but I need to finish the battle between the Turtles and Team EX before I do that. I already have two teams in mind, perhaps three teams had characters from EVOGA's Rage of the Dragons been added. But right now, we're going to look at how a fight between Donatello and Skullomania will turn out to be. I could've had Blair go up against Donatello, but I feel like as if Donatello and to some extent... Michelangelo, tend to fight more female opponents rather than male, not that there's anything wrong female fighters as they're just as capable as their male counterparts but I wanted to change it up a bit by having Michelangelo and Donatello fight a male opponent. That probably explains the awkward turnout with Team EX. But in the meantime, hopefully this match up will be an interesting one... and hopefully, the next team will be a better challenge for the Turtles.

Remember-- ENVIRONMENT IS ALSO A FACTOR IN THIS BATTLE! Something I feel like people need to seriously consider.

For new readers who are just hopping onto this storyline here, I suggest you look at the Mirage TMNT Respect Thread to see what the Mirage Turtles are more than capable of.

Donatello (Mirage) is low tier superhuman in terms of physicals. Think Above Peak Human due to his mutation.

Donatello (Mirage) possesses a new Electro Bo-Staff, Electro Shurikens, Explosive Shurikens, Kunai and Modified Laser Equipped Roomba.

Skullomania is in Peak Human Conditioning due to his training.

Skullomania has his moveset from the Street Fighter EX and Fighting Layer games.

I believe he's one of the most popular characters but I never got into Skullomania (even though I'm the one who added him).

Donnie has this with a bit of difficulty. Skullomania really isn't beyond a good Foot Soldier in my opinion.

Wow Leo really took the wind out of her sails, it is almost surprising how effectively he put her down when he got serious. Blair did give the Turtle some difficulty though,  so it really isn't too surprising as to why he had to take her down so quickly. Slamming him down on his plastron had to hurt quite a bit, and likely would have forced Leo to face the impact his opponents faced on his own body, not a good feeling to say the least.

All in all though, very well written Rakai, and as always I appreciate your attention to detail and ability to maintain all these characters personalities and traits, utilizing them at just the right moments in their interactions it's shows your growing skills as a writer Rak.

Donnie is going to have trouble with Skullomania in some ways, as his aerial attacks, double axe handles and chest based jabs will make him a tricky one to counter from certain perspectives. Donnie does appear to be a master of Defense in certain ways however, and that can work to his advantage in defending himself against Skullomania's over the head techniques, while he awaits the moment in which he can strike back. In my opinion, Skullomania's personality in particular, will lead to his downfall, as his showmanship and knack for flair, might keep him off guard long enough for Donatello to gain the upper hand as he keeps attempting to maintain his facade.

Yeah, I was surprised at the number of votes in favor of Blair and I wanted the recap to reflect that a bit. There was also a nod to the SNES Tournament Fighters in the way Leo pretty much defeated Blair.

Yeah, that's a decent breakdown of how the fight between Don and Skullomania could turn out!

As always, thanks for commenting!

I don't expect Skullomania to win, but I have thought all along that he has the best chance to pull the upset of anyone on his team if for no other reason than he brings something to the table that no one else has that the turtles have faced thus far.  He has unique attacks, and his snapshot style super move is off the wall. I could see it confusing Donatello and perhaps throwing off his concentration. I think it could work once to surprise the turtles, but not twice. Either way I am looking forward to how you incorporate Skullomania's moveset in your recap.

I was wondering when you were going to comment.

Yeah, sometimes all it takes is something of an element of surprise to change things up. Skullomania here is the underdog, if only because he is more or less a seemingly ordinary person who just happened to choose to become a Tokusatsu themed superhero, even in the realm of Street Fighter and Fighting Layer, and from EX to EX3-- one of his super techniques does involve energy projectiles.

Great set-up as usual, Rakai. I kinda figured Blair could put up a decent fight against Leonardo, and the votes and recap pretty much reflected that.

As for the match, I had to look up Skullomania since I never got around to playing as him. It seems to me that despite being able to throw projectiles and whatnot, he doesn't have a lot of combat experience. His unorthodox style may trip up Donatello some, but Donnie's apparently superior experience should carry him through.

Yeah, you pretty much nailed it all on the head! We're in the last day of this particular match, and hopefully... others will comment.

And hopefully, the next selected opposing team will be better!
