 “AAAUGH!”

Jamie felt a rush of pain moving through the center of his face as a three fingered fist gripping the handle of a pronged weapon collided into him. The blunt end of the weapon’s handle smashed directly into the bridge of his nose, and he could already feel something warm trickling down from his nostrils. He could even smell and even taste iron. If he had to guess, Jamie could swear that the Turtle had hit him so hard that he was bleeding from his nose, and it might even have been broken already. He moved his hands to his face, clutching as he worked to cope with the overwhelming pain that the red masked Turtle had inflicted upon him. Already the match had started off on a bad note for him, and he realized that he might have to fight harder than he expected if he was going to even have a chance at winning this match.

Raphael grinned as he watched his opponent leave himself wide open, and so he spun his sai in hand only to grasp them and positioned the handles to protrude from between his fingers. Quickly he shifted with a step forward and then turned with his weight, only to thrust his hands outward and firmly impacted the blunt ends of his twin sai directly into the Chinese fighter’s mid-section. Jamie widened his eyes in immediate pain and agony, now feeling the strength behind the Turtle’s strikes moving through his body as the wind was being pushed out from him. Jamie couldn’t help but lurch, almost feeling as if he had to retch. Raphael tensed up his leg muscles and he quickly pushed himself up, only to thrust his right knee directly up for Jamie Siu’s solar plexus. The Chinese fighter gasped out and again felt the pit in his stomach get deeper as Raphael’s knee drove itself forward, and he suddenly felt himself being thrown back. His rear hit the metal floor of the arena, and he writhed as his body worked to cope with the obvious discomfort.

“Jeeze! Raph ain’t exactly holding back here!” Michelangelo spoke, visibly cringing as he watched his hot-blooded sibling clearly dominating his opponent in the beginning of this match.

The red masked Turtle then tensed his leg muscles once more and pounced toward his opponent. He gripped his sai in reverse, now aiming for Jamie’s shoulders as he poised his weapons for a stabbing motion. Jamie widened his eyes as he realized the severity of the position which he found himself in, and so he fought through the pain and he quickly threw his weight to the left, rolling away from Raphael as the Turtle slammed feet first onto the ground, stabbing his sai at the metal floor of the arena with an audible clang. Jamie worked to get back up to his feet, placing his hands onto the floor and quickly scrambled to meet the challenge ahead of him. Raphael couldn’t help but grin, slowly nodding his head in anticipation as he once more spun his sai before gripping the handles, now positioning the pronged weapons forward while tucked between his palms.

Jamie just looked to the Turtle with a fiery determination in his eyes. He swallowed whatever saliva was in his mouth, tasting a mix of iron and was reminded of his injury. He put that in the back of his mind and focused on nothing but the reptile in front of him once more.

Raphael quickly rushed in, and he swung his right arm horizontally as he aimed for Jamie’s mid-section, slashing his sai for a lacerating strike. Jamie widened his eyes and hopped back from the attempted strike, watching as the fabric of his clothing now being shredded. Raphael then swung at Jamie with the sai in his left hand, again lashing with a horizontal slash and Jamie hopped back from the hot-blooded Turtle. Raphael moved in pursuit of his opponent, now thrusting his arms forward with his sai protruding out for Jamie’s chest and mid-section. Realizing the situation which he found himself in, Jamie moved his hands and slapped down Raphael’s wrist, working to divert the incoming sai away from him to avoid being stabbed. In retaliation, rolled his fists forward as he took aim for the mutant reptile’s face, but Raphael ducked and weaved, quickly avoiding the rolling punches. Jamie then quickly turned to his right, and he swung his left arm back across for the Turtle’s head. Raphael suddenly found himself being impacted by the young fighter’s fist but quickly composed himself as Jamie again turned and swung his right fist back across to the left with the same technique. Raphael widened his eyes, only to lean back and watched as Jamie’s fist moved across his field of vision. Keeping up with the offense, Jamie again rolled his fists forward after turning to face the Turtle, aiming for Raphael’s chest but the Turtle crossed his arms to block the incoming strikes. Jamie again turned, swinging his right arm back in a reversal swing and struck the Turtle directly across the face again, but this time, he turned and snapped his right leg out and impacted his foot into Raphael’s mid-section in a side kick, and followed up by shifting with a step forward and snapping his left leg out— striking and pushing Raphael back with his Freeflow Kicks technique.

Having distanced himself from the hot-blooded Terrapin, Jamie reached for the flask which was strapped behind his hip. Taking the gourd, he popped the top open and placed the flash to his lips only to begin drinking at the contents inside. He wiped away his mouth with the sleeve on his right arm, and already could feel himself loosening up and once more assumed his Drunken Boxing stance.

Raphael quickly rushed in at his opponent. The Turtle pounced ahead, and he snapped his right leg out in a jumping front kick as he aimed to smack his foot into his opponent’s chest, but Jamie quickly spun to his right, and he rolled out several punches as he leaned towards the mutant reptile as Raphael was about to land his feet to the arena floor. Raphael widened his eyes, and he quickly crossed his arms in front of himself to block away at the punches before retaliating with a thrust from his sai in his right hand. Jamie widened his eyes as the pronged weapon moved towards his face, and so he dropped back and barely managed to evade the sai. During his fall, Jamie swung his left leg up and managed to strike Raphael’s chin with his left foot, causing the Turtle to be catapulted into the air. Seeing his opponent now open, the Chinese fighter planted his hands to the arena floor and shot himself upward as he snapped his right leg out in a rising side kick, only to impact the Turtle directly into his plastron protected chest. Jamie then threw his weight to his right, now snapping his left leg back out in an aerial back thrust kick, again striking Raphael in his mid-section and sent the reptile flying back as he managed to successfully execute his Arrow Kick technique.

Raphael hit the ground flat onto his carapace. He took a moment to register what had occurred as he placed his hands on the ground and pushed himself to his knees. So, his opponent had some modicum of skill. But he had already come so far in this tournament, even having fought competitors who could arguably be called something superhuman. The Turtle slowly rolled his tongue around before shaking his head.

Jaime focused on the flow of energy within himself. It came to him in the form of a powerful rushing sensation. Taking hold of this internal flow, he directed it to move through his entire body and channeled it into his arms and hands. Quickly, he shuffled towards the Turtle and leaned in only to thrust his right arm forward as he intended to blast an open palm strike onto Raphael— intending to execute and land his Swagger Step technique. A rush of white energy emanated from his palm, threatening to explode should the Chinese fighter’s palm contact the mutant Red Ear Slider. Raphael quickly side-stepped to his right, managing to evade Jamie’s attack but then he retaliated by swinging his right leg up high, performing a roundhouse kick which firmly struck Jamie directly on the left side of his face. Pain moved across Jamie’s head, and he stumbled to the side as a stinging sensation moved through his face, a red mark being left there after Raphael slammed his foot into him.

Raphael went onto the assault as he swung his left leg down across to the right in a low roundhouse kick, firmly striking across at Jamie’s knee on his right leg. He followed up by another roundhouse kick which was aimed directly at the Drunken Boxer’s mid-section, and his foot collided into Jamie’s ribs. The Chinese fighter gasped as he felt a stinging pain moving across his body, and he could even feel his bones compressing from the impact of Raphael’s foot. Raphael pulled his left leg back, as if he were preparing to deliver a side kick but then he turned and instead snapped his right leg in a spinning back thrust kick which slammed into Jamie’s solar plexus.

“GUUUH!” Jamie widened his eyes; air being forced from his lungs. He also felt something warm and acidic moving up from his stomach to his throat. A bitter, rancid taste brushed up along the back of his tongue, but he quickly worked to swallow it all back down and hold it.

The red masked reptile now spun his sai once more and he positioned the handles to protrude from between his fingers. Quickly, Raphael would thrust both handles outward and firmly struck it directly into Jamie’s chest. Jamie grunted and he stumbled back from the blow only to lose his footing before he fell onto his rear.

Raphael took in a deep breath of air through his nose as he shook his head from side to side, expressing disapproval towards his opponent. All that confidence, all that big talk that Jamie had been spouting— all of that bravado now seemingly was gone.

“Okay. Okay. You’re…. a lot better than I thought, Froggy.” Jamie spoke through heavy breaths.

Raphael rolled his tongue around in annoyance at being called a frog. He watched as Jamie took hold of his flask once more, and popped it open again. The Drunken Boxer now took a large drink from the gourd, downing the special brew that had been a family secret for generations. He felt a rush of energy renewing him, and Jamie closed the gourd and strapped it behind his hip once more before rising to his feet. He felt looser, more fluid and he swerved his upper body in a circular manner, before stepping about and set himself in the Drunken fighting stance. He looked to Raphael, and then motioned his left hand, gesturing for the ninja to come at him.

“God, this is gonna be like putting a puppy in a woodchipper…” Raphael muttered under his breath.

The red masked ninja ran as fast as he could to get to his opponent. He spun his sai and gripped them, holding them in reverse before he thrust them down for a stabbing motion as he intended to strike at Jamie’s shoulders. Jamie, instead, turned to his right and spun out of the Turtle’s path. He swerved his upper body back and then leaned inward, now rolling several punches for the mutant Red Ear Slider’s face. Raphael quickly deflected the punches as he moved his forearms out, blocking away at Jamie’s hands but the Chinese fighter snapped both his legs out, intending on kicking his feet at Raphael’s shins. Instead, the Turtle fought through the discomfort and responded by snapping his left and right leg out in two front kicks for Jamie’s chest. Jamie swatted down at Raphael’s legs before he took aim for the Turtle’s face, only to thrust both fists out simultaneously. Raphael felt two strong impacts hitting away at his face, but he instead opted to fight through it as he widened his eyes and glared to the Chinese fighter. Jamie then decided to continue the offense with his Intoxicated Assault combination as he leaned forward and thrust his right elbow out for Raphael’s face again, but the Turtle blocked the attack as he crossed both his arms. Jamie followed up with the initial part of his technique by leaning forward and loosely swinging his arms upward for Raphael’s chin, intending to hit the Turtle with the back of his wrist.

Raphael kept his guard, taking the blows directly to the forearms before he swung his arms apart and broke through Jamie’s offense. Raphael quickly swung his arms across, performing two hook punches aimed for Jamie’s head, and successfully managed to slam his fists across the Drunken Boxer’s cheeks. The red masked ninja then side-stepped and circled around Jamie, only to now slip his sai into his belt and then reached out to wrap his arms around the Chinese fighter’s mid-section.

“Well, this is gonna hurt!” Donatello cringed upon seeing his hot-tempered brother get a hold of his opponent.

Raphael drew on the strength in his legs as he heaved Jamie up from the ground, he leaned back and allowed gravity to do the rest. Jamie widened his eyes and felt his lungs having the air crushed out of them as his back hit the metal floor of the arena as Raphael managed to suplex him. Michelangelo just winced as he witnessed the crushing power behind the drop and shook his head from side to side as he could only imagine how that must’ve felt. Donatello puffed his cheeks as he also winced as well, slightly turning his head to the right as if to look away.  Leonardo merely crossed his arms out in front of his plastron protected chest, not even so much as diverting his attention from the match. However, if he had to say one thing… it was that maybe Raphael might’ve been a bit excessive here.

Raphael released his grasp on Jamie, and slowly turned to his chest before pushing himself to his feet. The hot-blooded ninja now shot a glare down at his opponent and he shook his head from side to side. Jamie wheezed and winced as he worked to fight through the agonizing pain which Raphael had put on him and he slowly set his hands to the arena floor and slowly pushed himself up.

“Okay… this is just fucking sad. You’ve got some skill… But know when to quit.” Raphael spoke.

“And get beat by a guy in a Turtle costume? Nah, bro. Then no one would take me seriously. Not even the meathead which your friend beat in the first match.” Jamie replied.

Raphael couldn’t believe the persistence and perhaps even downright arrogance of his opponent. He had to give Jamie credit where it was due, as he managed to land some strikes onto him. Had the Chinese fighter taken more time to practice and maybe take the fight more seriously, then maybe things would’ve been different. But that arrogance would cost Jamie, and Raphael had thought that he got that message across. He was wrong there.

“Alright… Your funeral.” Raphael spoke.

Jamie then stepped forth and now ran in towards the mutant Red Ear Slider. He tensed his legs and pushed himself to leap, now taking to the air before he threw his weight forward and to the side— performing a corkscrew trick flip only to then throw his weight down and he snapped his right leg down for Raphael’s head, now coming at the Turtle with his Luminos Dive Kick. Raphael moved his arms up and blocked the kick with his forearms, tensing his muscles to withstand the force of the kick. Jaime rebounded off from the Turtle’s wrist, now landing feet first onto the arena floor before he came in at the Turtle once again with a series of rolling punches, before turning and swinging his left arm in a reversal backhand and followed up by arcing his left leg up and across in the same direction in a crescent kick.

Raphael shuffled back, blocking away at the rolling punches as they were coming for him as he positioned his forearms vertically, swinging them inwards to divert the punches safely away from himself. Jamie focused on the energy within himself, now feeling it in the form of a rushing sensation and directed it to flow through his arms and hands. He turned with a pivot and thrust his left arm out, unleashing a burst of white energy as he intended to slam his palm into Raphael’s chest. Again, he turned in another pivot as he shuffled on and thrust his other hand out imbued with the same energy, now performing his Swagger Hermit Punch technique. The red masked ninja moved his arms down, crossing them in time to block the palms of the Drunken Boxer.

Jamie now took this energy burning inside of him and channeled it through his form once more, and he turned in a spin only to plant his right hand to the ground. He now kicked and parted his legs, performing a dance like spin as he aimed to kick at Raphael’s body as he intended to execute his Breakin’ super technique. The Turtle kept his arms crossed, enduring the blows which Jamie intended to land onto him. And as soon as the Drunken Boxer was seemingly about to finish, Raphael parted his arms in explosive fury.

“RROOOOAAAAAGGHH!!”

Raphael quickly turned with his hips as he leaned into the motion, now thrusting his left and right arm out in two quick punches which landed for Jamie’s solar plexus and his forehead. Jamie grunted with each impact and stumbled from the strength of Raphael’s blows. Then the red masked Terrapin quickly swung his right arm up in an uppercut, firmly striking Jaime directly in the chin, and this caused him to shift back as his senses were jarred—his head now ringing with overwhelming pain from the punishment Raphael was piling on.

Tensing up his leg muscles, Raphael then pounced toward Jamie and threw his weight down only to now plant his hands to the ground. He somersaulted forward and then kicked his feet directly into Jamie’s chest, causing the Drunken Boxer to wheeze out before he would be flung off from his feet. Jamie hit the ground, flat onto his back and he writhed in discomfort and pain while clutching at his chest. The pain and the exhaustion were too much for the young fighter and he closed his eyes and allowed himself to drift into darkness. Raphael stood over his opponent, and he looked up at the screens which zoomed in on him as the countdown started.

Jamie didn’t make a sound. He didn’t move.

The countdown was finished.

Raphael threw his arms up and proclaimed his victory in a mighty yell. Michelangelo just pumped his fists in celebration of their team achieving another victory. Donatello could only nod in acknowledgement of Raphael’s victory before he gave a brief clap. Leonardo… simply stepped his way over to his brother and gave subtle but respectful nod to Raphael.

The audience had cheered for having been treated to another spectacle of a fight. The Turtles were a team that no one had taken seriously but after having defeated some of the most powerful teams… it seemed as if they were becoming the favored underdog group.

All four brothers realized how far they had come, and yet… there was still more to accomplish. Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello and Raphael stared at one another.

Whether they come out on top or in defeat, they could at least come out of this experience all the wiser. They could only come out of this tournament stronger…

A few hours had passed since the Turtles had claimed another victory. The brothers took their time recovering their bodies and gathering their strength, taking the time to prepare for the next battle as they waited for the tournament staff to announce the next battle. In that time, the brothers watched the next few matches involving different teams, doing their best to assess the competition and figure how they could cope with the different skills and abilities of a potential opponent. Already they had come across wild powers and skills from the competition which they had faced. But if they could learn and adapt and take what they had learned from their experience in this tournament to make them better ninja in the long run.

It hadn’t been long for the next match to be announced, and the Turtles were informed that the next match was going to be set in the Fulton Center Mall. So far, they hadn’t really so much as had a match set in that particular environment, and the decision on the location seemed to be different enough for both teams to be kept on their toes. It didn’t take long for the Turtles to arrive at the designated fighting area, thanks to the tournament staff providing escort and transportation.

Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello and Raphael moved through the entrance and made their way to the fighting area. All four widened their eyes to see the futuristic aesthetic of the mall.

It wasn’t until Leonardo looked ahead and noticed the opposing team ahead of himself. Michelangelo, Raphael and Donatello looked ahead, also taking notice.

There was a red-haired man wearing a purple Karate gi and white hand wraps. Alongside with him was a blue haired woman with her hair done up, wearing a white sports leotard and black thigh high boots, and a pair of fighting gloves. Another man accompanied the team— but he wore a white wide brimmed hat which obscured his eyes and wore a buttoned-up shirt underneath a white jacket. He also appeared to be wearing a pair of white pants and had on a pair of brown shoes as well. And another was a man who appeared to be wearing a black and white zentai suit that seemed to have the appearance of a skeleton, while also wearing a pair of white gloves and boots. Complimenting his appearance would be a red scarf to give his attire some unique flare. If one didn’t know any better, the skeleton dressed man might have been channeling a Tokusatsu hero.

“Whoah! Someone’s a Kamen Rider fan!” Michelangelo chuckled.

Both teams then had soon gathered, each of them sizing the other up. The red-haired man simply flicked his nose with the thumb on his left hand as he stared at each of the Turtles.

“So, you’re the four underdogs that made it this far, huh? Well… I gotta hand it to you four boys. You certainly know how to fight, even if you are wearing weird costumes.”

“I wouldn’t take them lightly, monsieur Allen.” The blue haired woman spoke, with an apparent French accent.

“Oh, don’t worry Blair. As former United States Martial Arts champion, I don’t plan on taking them lightly.”

“So uh, who are you guys exactly supposed to be?” Donatello inquired with a raised brow.

“That’s a good question… I mean, some people call us Team Arika— others sometimes call us Team EX. But where are my manners? I’m Allen Snider. That lovely little lady there is Ms. Blair Dame. The fella with the hat over there is Cracker Jack. And the guy decked out like it’s Halloween? Well… he goes by Skullomania. I think he’s supposed to be some kinda superhero or something.” Allen explained as he introduced his team.

“I think enough introductions have been made. Let’s just get on with the match.” Jack gruffly spoke.

Allen nodded his head in regard to Jack’s comment. He stepped over towards the middle of the fighting area, and then did some quick isometric stretches by doing raised kicks and arc kicks, before he would stretch his legs and arms out for a minute. He stared at the Turtles before he snapped himself into his own fighting stance, which appeared to be a Jeet Kun Do stance.

“I’ll go first.” Raphael spoke out as he stepped ahead to meet his challenger.

The red masked Turtle moved his hands down and he took hold of the handles of his twin sai, now snapping himself into his own fighting stance. Both Allen and Raphael circled around one another, as if they were assessing their body language and stances. Both soon came to a stop and stared at each other with the intent to win. Allen would be the first to break the silence as he unleashed a powerful yell, his fist clenched as he was prepared to deliver the first strike to initiate the match. Raphael unleashed his own furious yell from within as he rushed at his opponent, his sai tucked within his palms with the prongs facing out.

The first match between the Turtles and Team EX now commenced.

The continuation of the Mirage TMNT storyline has been posted and I have to say that this one was a bit of a challenge to write up.

It was difficult in writing out the recap between Raphael and Jamie Siu, primarily because I was referencing Jamie's style of Drunken Boxing from Street Fighter VI and I have to say that Jamie's moveset was pretty underwhelming and I didn't find his moves to be particularly impressive. And then seeing the votes between Raphael and Jamie being completely one-sided, which was surprising to me considering how popular Street Fighter VI happens to be-- left me quite flabbergasted. None the less, I felt as if I had to reflect the outcome of the votes in the recap with Raphael completely dominating and being... well, a little excessive in his fight against Jamie. I suppose you could say that Raphael rolled a Nat 20 when kicking this match off and scored some high damage on Jamie.

Then came the challenge in finding who would be the next opposing team for the Turtles. For the last couple of weeks, I was set on picking some more Street Fighter characters and then I remembered that Terry Bogard had crossed over into the Fighting Layer game series, and so I remembered the Street Fighter EX series. However when writing this match up, I wondered if there were other TMNT characters whom the Turtles could fight... be they from Mirage, IDW, the Fred-Wolf cartoon, etc... And none were coming to mind because I had to explain where these characters came from and how they got to the Mirage universe... or rather this interpretation of the Mirage universe, so ultimately... I decided to go back to the Street Fighter/Fighting Layer characters. And I figured... why not have one of the Turtles fight a Ryu/Ken Masters analogue with Allen Snider. It seemed to make logical sense, at least to me anyway.

Also, this match marks the CBUB debut of Allen Snider-- even though he's been in the database for eleven years!

Anyway, I hope this match is a good one!

Remember-- ENVIRONMENT IS ALSO A FACTOR IN THIS BATTLE! Something I feel like people need to seriously consider.

For new readers who are just hopping onto this storyline here, I suggest you look at the Mirage TMNT Respect Thread to see what the Mirage Turtles are more than capable of.

--

Raphael (Mirage) is Low Tier Superhuman in terms of physicals. Think Above Peak Human due to his mutation and training.

Raphael (Mirage) possesses his Twin Sai, Shurikens, Exploding Shurikens, Smoke Bombs, and Kunai.

Allen Snider is in Peak Conditioning due to his training.

Allen Snider has his moveset from the Street Fighter EX and Fighting Layer series.

Ohhh a new environment!

I like some of the characters from EX Fighters. Allen never impressed me though. Raph should handle this pretty decisively. I suppose a bit less easily than against Jamie.

Thanks for commenting!

Out of all the EX characters, I liked Allen! He seemed like a decent enough rival to Ken Masters and according to his backstory, his techniques were self-taught and developed to counter Ken's should they have fought again. So I was disappointed that he didn't come back for EX2 and EX3.

Yeah he seemed like a solid character. I think he was the only EX person in the database until I started putting guys in when I joined the site. I think JohnnyChanny finished them off.

But like I said, Allen didn't impress me gameplay wise and apparently he didn't impress players and or game developers either.

To be fair, Allen did return in the Fighting Layer games-- which is a separate franchise altogether from Street Fighter as the EX characters are owned by Arika.

And Capcom officially placed him into main Street Fighter canon when they were doing Fighter profiles on the Shadaloo Combat Research Institute website, which served as an in-universe information hub on SF characters.

So he definitely impressed a few people.

A brutal finish for Raphael, an outcome that I did not even expect to happen in such a powerful way. Jamie fought well, as well as he could, but Raph was too much this time, and in the process, the Turtle walked all over him as a result. Very well written, and while Leonardo didn't say or acknowledge the severity of the assault, it is evident from your writing that he is disturbed by it to a least a somewhat significant extent.

That right there however, is the perfect exemplification of their relationship however, as Leo can but doesn't often choose to go to the lengths that Raphael will in a fight, opting to avoid allowing his anger to get the better of him. Yet, I'm sure, there are times where Leo wishes he had the kind of raw energy and incentive necessary to end his battles in the same rushed pace as Raphael at times. He is calculative and collective, but those skills tend to keep fights dragging on for a bit longer, as opposed to Raphael's approach of landing heavy hits in rapid succession.

All that being said, Raphael stands a pretty decent chance of winning here, if he can repeatedly find ways to keep Snider off-guard in their battle. Since Snider tends to perform above head and leaping moves such as kicks and drops, this should be relatively easy to do, but would require Raph to perhaps emulate more of Leo's maxims in order to make it happen. Rather, he will have to duck underneath or evade much of Snider's over-the-head moves by hitting the deck as low as he can, allowing his shell and plastron to take anything he can't avoid, and attacking only when Snider drops his guard before attacking again. In those moments, the ones before Snider launches his kicks and drops, Raph can take advantage of his momentary drop in protection, and try hitting him from the back, or evade his legs, and attempt to attack his chest while in the air. Either strategy, seems like it would yield great results against the enemy fighter in this scenario.

I felt that even Raphael had to pull himself back a bit and say "Okay, this has gone on long enough and there's no reason to kill you... Just quit while you're ahead" in terms of his thoughts to Jamie, and knowing how arrogant Jamie can be-- especially with how antagonistic his rivalry is with Luke, it only felt natural that he would try and attempt to hang with someone like Raphael, if only because he didn't want to lose to someone who he believed was a guy in some intricate Turtle cosplay. It also didn't help that Jamie was arrogant enough to throw some insults at someone like Raphael when the match was beginning.

I would think that Leonardo and Raphael have an ice and fire dynamic, with Leo being cold and calculating where as Raphael is temperamental but passionate. But there is a visceralness about what they do, as out of all four Mirage Turtles-- Leonardo and Raphael are the ones who are more than likely to try and get the killing blows compared to either Donatello and Michelangelo, not that the latter two aren't capable of killing (which they have done in the comics) but they're not necessarily as quick to make that decision unless the situation calls for it.

This is a very good breakdown to how this fight could go, and I felt that Allen would be a decent challenge against Raphael considering that he's pretty adjacent to Ryu and Ken in terms of his moveset and ability. After all, losing to Ken Masters according to his SF EX storyline and his profile on the SCRI archive, seemed to have inspired him enough to make his own techniques that emulate Ken's moveset. So I felt that Allen in that regard would give Raphael a challenge.

Very cool to see an EX team in your tournament, RakaiThwei.  It will be the first CBUB match for 3 of them and only the second for Jack. I'm very curious to see how they are paired off. I feel like I can usually tell, although at the moment there is only one semi-obvious pairing that I can see.

As for this match, Allen is an underrated Shoto type fighter in my opinion. However, in this tournament Raphael has already defeated Iori and Terry Bogard, who both outclass Allen, so he should be able to handle him.

Thanks for commenting, JohnnyChanny!

And Allen is definitely an underrated Shoto type, I will agree on that!

Great set-up as usual, Rakai. Good recap with Raphael and Jamie, too. I'd have though Jamie would fare a little better, but the fight pretty much reflected the final vote.

I think I remember playing one of the Street Fighter EX games back in the day, though I think I mainly stuck with the "classic" characters (Ryu/Ken/Chun Li/etc.). I don't remember Allen, but his style looks like a similar type of karate to Ryu and Ken. Given this and hearing that he gave a Ken a good fight in-canon, I have a feeling that he'll give Raph the same.  Raph's experience with tougher fighters in this tourney tells me he'd eventually win out, though.

And yeah, Allen did give Ken Masters (this is SF1 to Alpha in the SF timeline) a pretty good fight!

I got Raph winning this. Allen Snider never really impressed me, he’s pretty lame.

Oh, man! I swear I'm probably the only guy who likes Allen, especially finding out that his gimmick is that he's really Street Fighter's Chuck Norris and Bruce Lee mashup analogue character! Hah hah!

Now this is a pleasant surprise!

Allen actually managed to put up a relatively decent fight against Raphael!
