Maxima felt an overwhelming pain moving throughout his entire head. A singing sensation moved through his brain and penetrated through his eyes, and despite him shutting his eyes—he could’ve sworn that he still saw a white light flashing across his vision while at the same time; a blunt force impacted him from the back of his skull. Instinctually, Maxima moved his hands to clutch the sides of his head and he screamed in immediate discomfort and agony as he had been subjected to this kind of pain. As this had been happening, Donatello would take the moment o now strike at his opponent from behind as he immediately took a step forward and then snapped his right leg forward in a shifting side kick, taking aim for the back of the larger man and impacted his foot at the base of his opponent’s backside. Maxima was forced to stumble ahead as he lost his footing momentarily. The intellectual Turtle then spun his staff in a figure eight motion, shifting the weapon from right to left before he turned in a spin and hunched down, now swinging his staff across to the right as he took aim for Maxima’s ankles.

The large Canadian man felt something striking at his feet, and suddenly gravity took over as he now found himself falling back and hitting the ground flat onto his back. As he was preparing himself to rise to his feet, Maxima shook his head to ward off the cobwebs and the lingering pain which his head seemed to be experiencing. However, Donatello quickly seized the moment as he turned in a spin to move to his opponent’s left side and then swung his staff downward to strike at his opponent’s mid-section. Maxima grunted as he felt the metal staff striking at his stomach region, and the Turtle would repeatedly perform the motions only to impact the larger man three more times. Donatello rose his staff as he gripped his firmly, now ready to strike again and swing it down only for Maxima to reach out and take hold of the metal staff in his right hand.

Utilizing his enhanced strength, Maxima would pull Donatello’s weapons in an attempt to yank the Turtle in closer to him and managed to do so quite easily. The red masked genius widened his eyes as he found himself now moving in towards the larger fighter. Maxima then released his hands from Donatello’s weapon before clasping his hands together, and then he swung his arms upward as he took aim for Donatello’s mid-section in an effort to land a mighty blow. The Turtle felt a strong impact slamming into him, now feeling the air being pushed out from his lungs as he coughed in pain and now felt gravity pulling him back, hitting the ground on his carapace.

Now realizing the strength of his opponent, Donatello realized that it might be best not to take too many hits from this particular opponent. He took in several deep breaths, working to fight through the pain that was lingering in his mid-section now. Maxima then rushed in at the downed Turtle, and he drew upon the strength of his cybernetic enhancements, as he now turned in with his weight and thrust his right arm outward for Donatello’s face—unleashing the M4 Vapor Cannon attack. Donatello widened his eyes as he then threw his body to his own right; barely managing to evade the punch Maxima unleashed, and watched as his fist instead hit the ground and created a crater which was twice the size of the larger man’s fist. Donatello could only imagine what that could’ve done to him had that been his head, and he was quick to leave that thought and focus on the battle at hand.

Maxima kept his hands clasped, and he once more now moved to face his opponent. Quickly, the Canadian fighter then swing his hands down as he took aim for Donatello’s chest region but the Turtle then rolled out of the way of the cyborg’s path, and now watched as Maxima landed the hammer fist attack onto the ground, causing a minor tremor and cracks to form in the concrete. Again, Maxima chased after the intellectual mutant and raised his arms for another strike as he utilized the enhanced strength his cybernetics provided. Knowing that a straight up fight between himself and Maxima is out of the question, Donatello moved his right hand down to his utility belt and took hold of the smoke pellet in the pouch on his belt, then threw it at the ground in front of Maxima’s feet. A brief explosion of fire erupted from the pellet, causing Maxima to jump back as he was quite startled from the sudden eruption, and a waft of smoke now rose to obscure his vision.

Seeing his opponent now wide open, Donatello then kick flipped himself to his feet and now rushed towards the Canadian cyborg. Donatello quickly then swung his staff upwards and firmly struck Maxima directly in the chin. The cyborg’s head was forced to careen back and he quickly snapped his head down as he shot a glare to the red masked intellectual. Donatello again spun his staff in a figure eight motion before he would thrust his weapon outward, now firmly striking Maxima in the chest and then brought his weapon downward, bringing the back end of the staff to strike down onto the top of the large man’s head before he would swing with the other end moving up for Maxima’s chin, and followed up by turning in a spin and swung his staff across as he intended to strike it across the cyborg’s head as swiftly as he could.

Maxima was pelted by the Turtle’s staff, taking the impact directly in his chest but he shifted his weight down to his feet and leaned into the attack, resisting the Turtle’s attempt to push him back with the weapon. However, the man was struck directly in the chin and once more was struck on the top of his head, exacerbating the lingering migraine which his head was already unfortunate enough to go through. And again he would find himself being impacted in the head by the Turtle’s metal staff, and the blow was strong enough to briefly cause him to stumble to the side with just a step before the Canadian man regained his footing and turned to stare at the mutant Red Ear Slider.

In retaliation to the Turtle’s tenacity, Maxima quickly jabbed his left arm out for Donatello’s head and then followed up by swinging his right arm across in a hook punch before he would lean forward with his weight and snapped his right leg out in a front kick, before he again clasped his hands together and swung down for the top of Donatello’s head. The Turtle gripped his staff in hand, now positioning his staff in a defensive manner as he raised his arms up and used the weapon to deflect the wrists of Maxima’s incoming hands. However, when that downward strike came for him, Donatello then side-stepped out of the way only to now firmly plant his staff onto the ground and he pushed himself up, and threw his weight across only to spin on his staff as he kicked both legs out, striking Maxima on the back, and now sent the man stumbling before he spun the weapon in a figure eight motion, impacting Maxima’s shoulders, arms, back and his legs.

“HNNGH!! NNNGHH!” Maxima grunted as he raised his arms in a protective manner, doing his best to endure Donatello’s assault with the bo-staff.

“Don’s holding up so far… If he plays it carefully, he might win this.” Leonardo spoke.

“Yeah, dude… That guy was able to shatter concrete with his hands. I’m thinking this guy ain’t exactly normal, even if we count the people that do that Dragonball stuff with their hands!” Michelangelo replied.

Donatello would keep on spinning his bo-staff, striking away at Maxima as fast as he could with a decent amount of strength put into the bo-staff. Quickly, the red masked genius then tensed up his leg muscles and then he pushed himself as high as he could only to then snap his legs out. Successfully, Donatello managed to land the dropkick directly into Maxima’s face, causing the cyborg to stumble back from the blow. The Turtle landed flat onto his carapace, but quickly flipped himself onto his feet and now gazed upon the seemingly now frustrated Canadian.

“Alright, you’re pretty damn quick and annoying! But that’s all done now!” Maxima shouted.

Quickly Maxima then reached out with his right arm and aimed to grab a hold of Donatello by the head, but the Turtle spun his staff and raised it up—using the weapon to deflect the reaching hand upward as he managed to narrowly avoid Maxima’s aptly named Maxima Press technique. Quickly, Donatello again spun his staff and he pressed the button on the center grip of the weapon, activating the electrical charge and lightning surged from the ends of the staff as he then thrust it directly into Maxima’s chest once more.

“ARRRGH!!” Maxima screamed briefly.

Donatello turned with his weight as he swung his staff, bringing both ends horizontally as he then struck Maxima’s sides with the electrified weapon, delivering both blunt force and electrical shocks onto the cyborg. With each blow delivered onto him, Maxima grunted and yelled in agonizing pain. Had it not been for the cybernetics which he had been enhanced with, surely he would’ve been downed after a few strikes from the weapon. But the pain was beginning to pile up, and it already added to Maxima’s frustrations. Widening his eyes and putting on a vicious glare, Maxima yelled out as he now fired up the hydraulics in his cybernetic enhanced arms, opening the vents and quickly turned with his hips, now thrusting his left and right arm across as he again struck Donatello in his plastron with his fists as he unleashed the EX version of his M-4 Vapor Cannon attack.

Donatello was his in his plastron protected chest, and the red masked Turtle now found himself flying back some fifteen feet away from his opponent before he hit the ground flat onto his right side. Pain washed through his entire form, and the reptile coughed as he worked to fight through the pain and breathe to catch his wind.

Maxima glared to his downed opponent, and now opened the thrusters in the back of his shoulders as he now leaned inward and allowed himself to be propelled. He zeroed in on the Turtle as he moved quickly thanks to his Maxima Charge. When he got in close to the Turtle, Maxima moved his right arm out and took hold of Donatello by the head, and now looked ahead to the nearby steel beam of the unfinished building ahead of him, only to extend out his arm as he aimed to slam Donatello’s head against it with another attempted Maxima Press.

“LEO, DONNIE’S IN TROUBLE!!” Raphael shouted as he reached down for his sai.

Leonardo then moved his right arm out, barring his hot tempered brother from interfering with the battle. Seeing this, Raphael turned his gaze to Leonardo— glaring at his brother for stopping him from helping Donatello from what could potentially be a serious injury or worse. The more level headed Turtle now turned his sights to Raphael, and then shook his head from side to side in a disapproving manner. Despite the situation, Leonardo wanted to help as well but he recalled the rules of the tournament.

“Raph… We can’t interfere when a match has been started or we’ll be disqualified.”

“But…!”

“It’s Donatello’s match… He’ll have to come up with something to get out of that bind!”

Both bothers now looked to Donatello and Maxima as both were moving in towards the unfinished building. Donatello then moved his left hand down to his utility belt and then took hold of the ringed handle of the kunai that was strapped there. The mutant Red Ear Slider didn’t hesitate as he then raised his weapon and thrust it down to the wrist of his opponent as hard as he could, and with the strength which he could muster, Donatello managed to pierce the kunai through the cybernetic wrist of his opponent. Maxima widened his eyes and grunted in discomfort, and released his hand from Donatello’s head, dropping the Turtle onto the ground. Maxima was forced to deactivate his thrusters, now slamming his feet to the ground and was skidding to a halt.

Donatello scrambled to his feet, and he watched as Maxima moved his free hand to the kunai which was lodged in his wrist, and was distracted with pulling the weapon out. The Turtle then rushed in and he quickly then spun his staff in a figure eight motion before he turned in a spin to generate the needed momentum as he then swung his staff across to the left, now striking Maxima hard across his face. The cyborg was forced to turn his head as pain moved through his skull, and the lingering migraine from before was only further exacerbated. Donatello then moved the back end of his staff upward, firmly striking Maxima in the chin again before he catapulted himself forward and snapped his right leg out, now striking the man in his solar plexus as he performed a jumping side kick. Maxima stumbled from the impact and grunted as he felt the air being pushed from his lungs.

Knowing that one hand was compromised, a result of the damage which Donatello left on him, Maxima knew that each hit would have to count at this point. He then swung his left arm across for the Turtle’s head, but then watched as Donatello hunched from the incoming strike, only to swing his left arm back in a reverse swing but again, Donatello evaded as he ducked underneath the path of the incoming blow. Choosing to ignore the damage done, Maxima did his best to clench his right hand into a fist, and he thrust it out as he took aim for Donatello’s chest region. Instead, Donatello would pull his staff back, turn inward and use the weapon to divert the incoming punch away from him as he moved in towards Maxima.

Donatello then snapped his right leg diagonally upward to the left, performing a high roundhouse kick and firmly struck the Canadian man hard across the face, leaving a red foot imprint onto his skin. Again, the migraine which Maxima was dealing with seemed to worsen and he grunted in agony from the lingering sensation. The Turtle then continued with the motion of his spin and he swung his left leg back across to the left, now performing a spinning back wheel kick as he took aim for Maxima’s head once more.

Impact was made as the cyborg was sent stumbling to his right, and now was firmly shutting his eyes as the migraine was getting too much to deal with. He felt like his head wanted to explode, he had never felt a headache this bad before and was wondering if the shock to the head Donatello had left him with had perhaps damaged his neural interfacing. And this left him wide open…

Donatello then again would swing his staff across as he took aim for Maxima’s mid-section and he pressed the button on the center grip of the weapon, again activating it’s electrical capabilities. He impacted the cyborg onto his body, causing Maxima to double over and at the same time sent an electrical current which caused the man to scream out in agonizing discomfort and pain. Maxima doubled over as he felt the air being pushed from his lungs once more while also experiencing his nerves streaming out from the electrical shock. Donatello then turned with his weight as he then swung his right arm across; intending on striking Maxima’s face once more and his knuckles would firmly impact the cyborg quite harshly. Donatello then lowered his staff, swinging the weapon from left to right as he then struck at Maxima’s knees, forcing his legs to part before he would swing up and strike at the large man’s nether regions. Surely, him being a cyborg didn’t have that removed— at least, that’s what Donatello hoped.

And much to Donatello’s reassurance, that definitely seemed to work out for him as Maxima moved his hands down to his groin region and doubled over, now widening his eyes in absolute pain as he shot a glare to the red masked genius. Raphael pointed out with the finger on his right hand, now hunching over as he bellowed out an amused laughter before he slapped his hand over his right knee. Michelangelo winced at the very sight of Donatello’s intended strike, cringing at how painful that could’ve been for Maxima. Leonardo merely blinked as he crossed his arms and tilted his head from side to side, seeing how Donatello was going to go about this.

“OUCH! That’s gonna be felt in the morning!” Michelangelo chuckled.

But a rising anger now swelled in Maxima’s thoughts, and he was now forced to deal out perhaps what could be considered his most powerful attack. His chest then opened up, revealing a compartment which seemed to be developing a glowing light from within. Donatello widened his eyes as he realized what was happening. Quickly, Donatello then darted to the side as Maxima then released a powerful beam of green energy from the chest compartment, now making use of his M-24 Atomic Laser.

“HOLY SHIT!!” Donatello yelled out as he ran from the green energy beam.

But Maxima turned, following after the Turtle with the beam as he intended to end the match right then and there. Donatello quickly moved and he tensed up his leg muscles and leapt onto the steel girders of the unfinished building in the construction side, and continued to scramble to move away from the beam. Maxima moved his sights and raised his chest, still chasing the Turtle with the beam. As Donatello ran and jumped, the beam would miss but burn through the steel girders, causing them to turn white hot and melt with a white glow. The red masked Turtle looked ahead to the crane which carried a few girders, and it was then he had an idea. Quickly, the intellectual Turtle moved his right hand down and he took hold of three shurikens within his grasp. He immediately set his aim to the cable which was carrying the load, and so he flung his hand and released the throwing blades from his grasp.

Maxima raised his chest, moving the beam to the direction in which Donatello had been but the Turtle then quickly turned to his right and ran off to keep his distance from the beam.

The shurikens flew through the air and then cut through the cable. The weight of the load put strain on the cable, before it would snap and now the girders were coming down upon Maxima. However, the Canadian fighter was too infuriated to realize what had happened— before he suddenly would be piled on with the first girder, then the second, third, and the next few which would stack upon him.  The beam immediately dissipated and died down. Donatello quickly dropped down from the unfinished building, and padded feet first onto the ground as he stared upon where his opponent had been pinned by the girders.

Movement had been made, as the pile shook as Maxima made an effort to attempt to move and lift the steel girders but seemingly was unable to do so. Maxima would strain his arms and legs, but then eventually gave in to the exhaustion and eased back before he would close his eyes. His energy reserves were depleted, and there was a good chance that some of his cybernetics might be in need of repair. Donatello looked to the downed fighter and counted from ten… When he got to the last number, the red masked genius breathed a sigh of relief.

“Thank goodness that’s over with… Damn!” Donatello spoke as he turned and quickly jogged his way back to his brothers.

“Kicked ass out there, brain boy!” Raphael grinned.

“You made a nice come back, Donatello… Excellent.” Leonardo nodded.

Michelangelo moved his hands out and placed them on Donatello’s shoulders, happily shaking his brother as he gave him the biggest smile which he could ever give. The brothers already had managed to defeat most of the opposition, with Raphael having defeated K’, Michelangelo overcoming his fight with Kula, and now Donatello seemingly managing to prove his worth against someone like Maxima.

“You four have come a long way in proving your worth… I have to commend you for it.” A voice had spoken out.

All four Turtles then looked over to the source, and now noticed the remaining member of the opposing team. It was the Kunoichi who had made her presence known at the very last minute when the battle between the two teams started. The woman now took a step forward as she then moved her right arm back and took hold of her own ninjaken and then spun the weapon in her grasp. She looked over to each and every one of the brothers, sizing them up and evaluating in her mind what she had seen each of them demonstrate in their own battles… Save for one.

“You four have done so very well to overcome opponents who possess superhuman abilities, whether they have developed them through intense training and years dedicated to the Martial Arts, or in some cases… being enhanced with scientific and technological means. Your sensei trained you very well… But powers do not make a fight. It has been a long time. And I suppose this has been a long time coming too.”

The four brothers looked over to the Kunoichi now who seemed to have spoken highly of their level of strength and skill. The Kunoichi then moved her left hand up and took hold of the bottom of her mask, then unraveling it only to remove it from her head and face. Shoulder length dark colored hair dropped down, her beautiful, Asian features now were revealed to Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello and Raphael— and all four brothers widened their eyes in complete and utter shock to see the one person whom they had never expected to participate in this tournament.

The leader of the Japanese branch of the Foot…

Karai.

The brothers turned and looked to one another. The last time they had seen Karai was when there had been a feud between the New York branch of the Foot and the Foot Elite, servants who had been handpicked and personally trained to be made the most lethal of Oroku Saki’s ninja. It was Karai who had intervened in the conflicts with the Japanese branch of the Foot, and formed a truce between the Foot clan and the Turtles.

“This doesn’t violate the truce between the Foot clan and yourselves. Your sensei had informed me that you four would be attending this particular King of Fighters tournament. So… I had to see for myself. Now which one of you will be my opponent?” Karai spoke.

The Turtles turned to look to one another, but it would be Leonardo who would step forth as he now set his gaze upon the Kunoichi. Leonardo moved his arms up and he took hold of the handles of his ninjaken and Haohmaru's katana, now drawing the weapons out before he spun them within his grasp and now proceeded to make his way to the leader of the Japanese branch of the Foot. Karai smirked, as if she knew that out of all of the brothers— it was Leonardo who would be the one to face her. But… then again, it was a challenge which she had been looking forward to for a long time.

“I expected you to be the one, Leonardo.”

“The others have had their fun… I guess it’s our turn now, Karai.” Leonardo replied.

The two ninja now looked to one another intently as if they were trying to read one another, analyzing their body movements as they now encircled one another. Karai wrapped her left hand around the handle of her black cloth braided ninjaken and she would position the weapon vertically as she continued to move, whereas Leonardo also raised his blades and set himself in a defensive posture as he too moved to mirror Karai’s movements. The two stopped in their motions, now staring each other down. For a long time neither one of them would make a budge, nor even so much as make a sound. The moment would stretch on into an eternity.

Suddenly, that eternity of stillness would be broken by the flash of moving blades and the clash of steel echoing through the silent construction site.

The final outcome would come down to Master Splinter’s most disciplined disciple and the leader of the Japanese branch of the Foot.

So I am momentarily back after... maybe three weeks of hiatus. There were many reasons for that because I had to figure out how I was going to write up the recap between the match up involving Donatello and Maxima, and I suppose I procrastinated on that. And the other being that I recently purchased a new PC which had a trial version of Word Processor on it but I never got the chance to use it, because the new PC turned out to be a defective machine which kept on getting BsoD'ed with the KMOD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED error, and I had to return the new machine-- so I am back on my old PC which I have had for eleven years... Which surprisingly.. still works just fine, it's just not being provided support updates anymore since Microsoft is now putting out Windows 11.

Writing out the recap between Donatello and Maxima was... difficult to say the least because I needed to figure out how that was going to be done, and I also needed to look at Maxima's movesets, especially fro the newest KOF game. However... I can say that despite Maxima's cybernetic enhancements which push him to superhuman levels, his move set was quite boring and unimpressive to look at as most of his moves revolve around one technique. Also, I was definitely quite rusty when it came to writing out the combat scene between Donatello and Maxima. I felt like I had Donatello use his bo-staff too much, and didn't really have him use much punching, kicking or grabbing techniques. None the less, I had hoped that I would come up with something decent enough.

And now we have the next and final match up between the Mirage Turtles and Team K', and while Team K' didn't have a fourth member in their ranks who hailed from SNK's roster-- I decided to mix it up and throw in someone from the TMNT roster, and who better than Karai herself. Specifically... this is supposed to be the Mirage version of Karai, and in most media of TMNT-- especially fro 2003 TMNT when it was supervised by Peter Laird, and the 2012 Nick series-- there was always this rivalry between Leonardo and Karai, and I kind of wanted to play up on that since as far as I know in the Mirage canon, there really isn't much of a rivalry.

None the less, I hope this surprise of the mysterious Kunoichi being Karai is something people like!

Remember-- ENVIRONMENT IS ALSO A FACTOR IN THIS BATTLE! Something I feel like people need to seriously consider.

For new readers who are just hopping onto this storyline here, I suggest you look at the Mirage TMNT Respect Thread to see what the Mirage Turtles are more than capable of.

--

Leonardo (Mirage) is Low Tier Superhuman in terms of physicals. Think Above Peak Human due to his mutation and training.

Leonardo (Mirage) possesses his Ninjaken, Hoahmaru's Katana, Shurikens, Smoke Bombs, and Kunai.

Karai is at Peak Conditioning due to her training.

Karai possesses her Ninjaken, Wakizashi, Shurikens, Metsubushi Eggs, and Kunai.

Your not the only one back from a very long hiatus Rakai, been awhile since I was last on the site. Hopefully I can get back into the swing of things.

Leo vs Karai, as a TMNT aficionado I’ve seen countless iterations of their relationships; from enemies, to rivals with mutual respect, potential love interests, to even adopted siblings in the Nickelodeon version. It’s certainly one of the more interesting relationships in the show in that there’s been so many different ways to interpret and develop it. Can’t wait to see you write the recap of the fight and see how you plan to handle their relationship Rakai. I’ll be betting on Leo to win, occasionally Karai will get the better of Leo in certain settings but for the most part Leo is usually written as Karai’s better in fighting, stealth and most other factors.

I will say the Karai reveal certainly surprised me. I was thinking it was going to be a SNK connected kunoichi and had a few theories from there. That said, I always enjoy seeing Karai utilized, she is one of my favorite characters from the TMNT universe.

I was wondering where you were, or if you had left the site completely. Yeah, we've had a few new members come in and then they drop out, at least that's what I've seen in the... seventeen years I've participated on the CBUB. But it's a surprise that you're back. I've actually been back for a while but real life happened recently, a new PC I purchased and spent good money on wound up being a lemon and now I'm using my old set up again until I get a proper replacement.

Yeah, I am quite aware of the numerous depictions of Leonardo and Karai's relationships in the TMNT franchise overall but it's something that I don't think was thoroughly explored in the original Mirage continuity. At best, they probably had a mutual respect for one another-- but from what I know, they have never fought one another either in mutually agreed situations or even antagonistic.

So far, that's one for Leonardo but I can definitely see Karai not making this easy for him.

Considering that this is a TMNT crossover, I had to utilize a proper Mirage TMNT character and it was obvious that it had to have been Karai. As far as I know, aside from maybe... Aska from Tournament Fighters, and Shinigami from the 2012 Nick series, there has been no real other iconic kunoichi aside from Karai. Plus it would've been a nice nod to the 2003 4Kids and the 2012 Nickelodeon series to have the two fight!

But who wins in your opinion?

Karai! what a pleasant surprise! I think she and Leo ever really fought in the mirage comics so I'm not sure who would win here. the other mediums Karai is shown to be a little better then Leonardo but I'll limit my opinion to the Mirage version. I think in this version Leonardo wins.

Glad to know that you were pleasantly surprised by Karai's introduction into this storyline! I mean it was time for it to happen, but I had to decide if it was going to be Karai or Lotus Blossom whom Leonardo was originally going to fight.

Its good to hear that you're computer problems have been resolved Rakai, speaking from experience I know the troubles of a computer on the fritz, been there too many times to count heh. Not to pry too much, but if it is possible you should try to get either a refund or a replacement for that computer you got, as it being on the fritz had nothing to do with you and everything to do with them, but again that is up to you. I'm glad that your old computer is working too, even if it is working without the latest available hardware, if you need help finding other word processors let me know. I personally use Jarte for the most part, but I do know of others.

The fight between Donnie and Maxima was a nail biter in many points, and a far more brutal one than I could've even anticipated when you posted it a week or two ago, but the extra time did work to your advantage here. I felt that it was in all points a very well made write up for this match as it showcased much of what the characters both were and are capable of, Donnie utilizing strategy over brute force, and Maxima attacking with everything he's got, desperately trying to take down an opponent who was in some ways making a fool of him in front of his team are great elements to include. The steel beam was an intense scenario too, but it proved that Donnie is far from being the "weakest of the Turtles", and can certainly hold his own even when pushed to the limits of his abilities by someone like Maxima. You have a great grasp for each character's arc too Rakai, and it is kinda surprising to me, as it shows your skill as a writer improving through each effort.

Leo and Karai have fought over various media, with most encounters seeming to have the two being more or less equal in skill, sometimes Leo gets the upset over Karai and sometimes Karai gets the upset over Leo, but generally the two are close in their skills/abilities almost too much so to give one the ultimate advantage over the other. That being said, Mirage Leo seems to be a far more skilled fighter than most of his other counterparts, enough so, that I think he will have improved by leaps and bounds beyond the other Leo's being mentioned, and that improvement, in addition to the improvements he has made in his duels with the various SNK fighters, should in my opinion, give him the win over Karai this time, with slightly less difficulty. In truth, his experience and his adaptability from the previous fights, might just be enough to provide a pretty sizeable advantage this time, in spite of the skill Karai brings to bear.

I got the PC from Best Buy (they're notorious for their terrible return and customer service policies) but the PC I got wound up being a lemon, and this was an ASUS ROG Desktop, and it kept on getting the KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED BsoD for an unknown reason. Either there was something wrong with the hardware, or there was something going on with the software which I don't know about. But it happened five times in the couple weeks I had it, and that was more than enough to send it back. Of course, I couldn't get a replacement immediately, and almost wound up getting an upgrade until the manager shut that down, and I had to put in a special order to get a replacement shipped to another Best Buy location. So tomorrow I get the new PC... If something does go wrong with it, I'm getting a refund if I can.

Honestly, thank you for the kind words regarding the recap of Donatello and Maxima's match. I honestly felt as if it was a bit one-sided for Donatello because I think I wrote him getting more hits in than Maxima did, but whenever I had Maxima getting a hit in-- I made sure that Donatello knew that he was going to be physically outclassed in strength, and it also didn't help that Maxima didn't have a good moveset as far as the most recent KOF game is concerned. I wanted to also add something of an intensity when Donatello was using the unfinished building as a means of cover against that energy beam which Maxima was unleashing. So knowing that Donatello couldn't match that, he had to use the environment to his advantage. It's something that I feel like needs to be presented and played up more in matches.

Good assessment there, Z451! I think this is a way which could be played out!

Great set-up as usual, Rakai. Donatello definitely used his skills and smarts to overcome Maxima's massive strength and powerful weaponry. Good in a competitive sense to see that Donnie also didn't exactly come out of it unscathed, though.

I guess I'm the only one that saw the Karai twist coming. :D I meant to hint at it in your previous matches. As for the match, I predict Karai's going to give Leonardo a very good fight, but in every incarnation I've seen them match up, Leo more often than not came out on top. Both being virtual masters of ninjutsu, I could see them both using the terrain and their own arsenals to full effect. Leo may possibly want to try out Hoahmaru's katana here, but I think he'll eventually win.
