The battle between Raphael and K’ kicked off with an explosive start—and quite literally and figuratively as Raphael released a mighty roar from within as he rushed in towards the hot tempered man as he quickly swung his right leg diagonally up for his opponent’s head, performing a roundhouse kick and the Turtle watched as K’ swiftly leaned back from the kick. However, Raphael followed up by turning with his hips and he thrust his arms forward with the sharpened ends of his twin steel sai aimed for K’s mid-section. However, K’ immediately would turn and weave out of the path of the incoming pronged weapons and responded by hopping back, now channeling the energy within himself and focused on converting it to flame. His right hand erupted in a burst of flame, and as he padded his feet to the ground, he flicked his hand and a trail of flame rushed towards Raphael as it snaked along the ground as K’ unleashed his Ein Trigger technique, intending to immolate Raphael with the flame. But the mutant Red Ear Slider instead rushed ahead and tensed his leg muscles, pushing himself to leap and now threw his weight forward only to somersault in towards his opponent and snapped both his legs out— effectively slamming his feet onto K’ chest, sending the man flying across the construction site as Raphael would drop back before flipping to his feet.

“That shit DBZ shit ain’t gonna work on me! I’ve fought enough of you people to learn and know better than to stay in the path of that shit!” The red masked hot-headed reptile shouted.

K’ slammed flat onto his back harshly onto the gravely ground of the construction site but firmly planted his hands beside himself and quickly rose to his feet. He grit his teeth and now rushed right at the mutated reptile and as he drew near, he leaned forward with his weight and snapped his right leg forward in a front kick as he took aim for Raphael’s mid-section, but the red masked Turtle crossed his arms in front of himself to take the brunt of the kick. K’ followed up by turning with his weight and he would swing his right and left arm across twice, intending on striking Raphael hard across his face but the Turtle raised his arms up in a defensive posture, blocking the incoming punches. K’ quickly turned in a spin and he swung his left arm back across in a spinning back fist as he aimed to strike the back of his hand across Raphael’s head.

Raphael hunched from the path of the incoming back fist and responded by spinning his twin sai and gripped the handles and tucked them in his palms, the blunt handles now protruding between his fingers. Turning with his hips, the hot-headed Turtle thrust his arms forward as he leaned in with his weight only to firmly strike the blunt ends of the twin sai harshly onto the body of his opponent. K’ widened his eyes and gasped out as he then lurched forward and felt whatever meal he had threatening to come up. Raphael turned with his weight as he then swung his right arm in an uppercut— blasting the blunt end of the sai handle in his hand directly into K’s chin. Raphael decided to finish by turning in a spin and he thrust his left leg outward and firmly slammed his foot into his opponent’s mid-section, again pushing the man back and causing him to lose whatever air he had left in him.

The red masked ninja immediately shifted with a step and he swung his right arm across, his elbow bent out and firmly struck it across K’s head. He watched as his opponent lost his footing and stumbled to the side but he didn’t hesitate to follow. Raphael quickly then turned in a spin and he swung his right leg back across horizontally as he took aim for K’s head once more, firmly striking the man hard.

K’ hit the ground once more as a wash of pain moved through his head, his vision somewhat blurred and spinning. His sense of direction jarred, and the only thing he felt was his body hitting the gravel.

“DAAAAAAMN! Raphael’s owning this guy! Keep it up, broseph!” Michelangelo shouted.

“Shut up, Mikey! I don’t need the distraction right now!” Raphael responded.

K’ shook his head, fighting off the throbbing pain which seemed to be moving through his head. He grit his teeth and shot a fiery glare at the red masked Turtle, and quickly scrambled to his feet only to then rush on ahead once more. As soon as he neared the mutant Red Ear Slider, K’ immediately kicked off his assault by turning with his hips and he released a series of six quick punches which were aimed out for Raphael’s face and chest. However, the Turtle remained in place and he swung his arms inward, his forearms posed vertically and used them to deflect the incoming punches. K’ added onto the assault by then leaning forward and firmly placed his right hand’s fingers onto Raphael’s plastron. With one motion from his feet, then his glutes, and a shift forward—K’ snapped his hand to a fist and leaned in as he executed his One Inch Punch technique.

“AARGH!!” Raphael grunted as he widened his eyes in discomfort, dropping to his knees.

K’ again then channeled the energy within himself and directed it to flow through his entire body and directed it to flow through his left arm this time, and manifested another flame. He flicked his hand once more, unleashing a plume of flame which moved in towards Raphael, unleashing another Ein Trigger. Fighting through the pain, Raphael pushed himself to move as quickly as he could despite the pain, now scrambling and pouncing to his left and now hit the ground once more but K’ followed up by jumping and turning in a spin, kicking his right leg back in a jumping back thrust kick, his leg now bursting with flame as he followed up with his Second Shoot technique, firmly striking Raphael directly in his plastron protected mid-section. Raphael was sent stumbling back and felt a heat moving onto him, dropping back onto the gravel covered ground of the construction site. Rather than waiting for his opponent to get back up, K’ was intent on burning Raphael again as he focused his control over his flame, and rushed in towards the Turtle once more—flicking his right hand once more, and released another plume of flame, before he followed up by thrusting his right hand forward and out, intending on striking Raphael across the face, as he unleashed yet another Ein Trigger but also implemented the Second Knuckle follow up.

Raphael widened his eyes as he hopped to his left once more and gasped when K’ came at him with that punch, but the red masked ninja tensed up his leg muscles and pushed himself to leap over his opponent, now throwing his weight forward and somersaulted forward only to land onto his feet behind his opponent, narrowly evading the man’s attack. The hot-headed ninja leaned back and turned, only to thrust his right elbow back and slammed it at the back of K’s head, causing the white haired, dark skinned man to shut his eyes in pain as he was forced to stumble. Raphael spun his sai and thrust them down, slipping them into his belt straps and now turned to meet his opponent’s back only to reach out with his arms and firmly wrapped them around K’s mid-section.

With a mighty heave and lifting with his legs, Raphael managed to lift K’ off from the ground and bent back as he dropped— slamming K’ firmly onto his back hard onto the gravel covered ground as he landed that powerful suplex. K’ widened his eyes as a powerful rush if agony and pain moved through his body, and whatever air was inside of him now seemed to have been forced out. The pain was so immense that he couldn’t help but feel his body going limp, as he slumped and remained on the ground as the pain moved through him.

Raphael quickly then planted his hands to the ground and flipped himself to his feet. He shot a glare down at K’ for a second before he reached down with his arms and then took hold of the man by the back of his leather jacket, and then positioned him to his feet but then leaned forward and thrust his head out— slamming his forehead directly into his opponent’s, causing K’ to now move his hands up and clutch at his head.  Raphael quickly leaned forward and snapped his left leg up, slamming it directly into his opponent’s solar plexus region and caused him to wheeze out from the impact. Raphael quickly turned with his weight as he then swung his right and left arm across, firmly striking K’ directly across his cheeks, and then he shifted with a step and pumped his arms up four quick times, impacting his knuckles directly into K’s solar plexus once more, relentlessly pushing his breath out of his opponent.

K’ was having an incredibly difficult time in getting his second wind, as Raphael seemingly was capitalizing on that. The red masked ninja then released another series of punches, firmly impacting his knuckles up along K’s stomach region, his midsection, chest and his face—causing K’ to lose his footing and wind up dropping onto his rear.

“Oh, man… That is not a good look for him.” Maxima grunted as he raised a hand to his forehead, shaking his head in disbelief at the display before him.

He took in several deep breaths of air through his nose and exhaled— and felt all of the agony which Raphael had inflicted upon him. And that was something which outright infuriated K’ to no end. He focused the energy from within himself, channeling it to move through his entire body and manifested the flames in his hands as he manipulated the energy, now throwing his hands down and created a pillar of flame which surrounded him. Raphael widened his eyes and hopped back, his skin now feeling the heat brush up against him. The red masked ninja clenched his hands firmly into fists, glaring to his opponent as K’ now rose to his feet once more.

“ALRIGHT! NOW YOU’VE PISSED ME OFF, FREAK!” K’ shouted.

Still focusing the energy within himself, K’ manipulated it to move through his entire body and fed it directly to his muscles. He stepped forward and took off in a sprint, now seemingly disappearing from thin air as he now executed his Blackout technique.

“What the hell?! Oh… Oh, no you don’t!” Raphael grunted.

He had seen a similar thing like this before, especially when he had remembered when that Luchador girl used a similar technique on Leonardo. Raphael immediately turned around and he quickly saw K’ suddenly appearing in front of him. K’ quickly aimed to deliver a solid punch to the ninja’s face as he leaned in with the punch, throwing his right hand out and aimed to slam his knuckles in but Raphael raised his arms and crossed them, taking the blow directly in the forearms. K’ again leaned in with another punch but this time coming from his left, and Raphael worked to hold the defense, tensing his muscles up as he took the hit. K’ leaned in with his weight and he raised his right leg up, his knee bent as he firmly impacted Raphael’s mid-section.

Raphael grunted but he fought to keep his footing and the Turtle responded by jabbing his left arm out four quick times before he shifted with a step and snapped into a horse stance, now shooting his right arm out as he moved to execute a side stance punch. K’ crossed his arms, taking the punch directly in his forearms. With fury, K’ widened his eyes and bared his teeth as he then snapped his left leg up in a side kick and added onto the assault by turning with his hips and jabbed his left and right arm at Raphael’s head. The red masked Turtle blocked the kick with his forearms and then hunched and weaved from the incoming punches.

“STAY STILL!!” K’ shouted.

He attuned himself to the energy within himself once more, and directed it to flow through his entire body. He channeled it to move through his right arm and hand, manifesting the flame once more. K’ leaned and hunched down, only to pounce up and he’d swing his right arm upward—firmly impacting Raphael directly up along his plastron and into his chin as he now managed to land in his Crow Bite technique onto the mutant Terrapin. Raphael felt the heat moving onto his body and he was sent into the air only to be pulled by gravity. The Turtle hit the ground, and felt his skin stinging as if he had experienced the worst sunburn he could ever have.

“AAGH!” Raphael grunted.

“Ouch… That’s gonna leave a mark.” Donatello quipped.

K’ quickly rushed in towards the Turtle, and he pounced to attack as he then vaulted his right leg upwards to strike at the Turtle’s chin as he attacked with his Minute Spike technique. Raphael however moved his arms up and crossed his arms, taking the blow directly into his forearms. The red masked ninja then shot up to his feet, and he leaned in with his weight and snapped his left leg in a side kick which was aimed for K’s chest but the man crossed his arms out and took the blow in his forearms. But the Turtle rushed in and planted his feet up onto K’s knees as he decided to use the man as a jumping spring, and then thrust his right arm down with his elbow bent out— and slammed it down to the top of K’s head. Pain moved through K’s head, and he was forced to shut his eyes in complete discomfort and pain as he buckled down. Raphael landed onto his feet, and he moved his arms out only to grab a hold of the man by the back of his head as he planted his hands onto him, and pulled him in close. Raphael then quickly would thrust his right knee up, slamming it harshly into K’s face several times.

The Turtle finished with his attack, only to heave K’ back up while planting his hands onto the sides of his leather jacket. Raphael quickly then turned with his hips and leaned forward, only to move down and executed a hip toss—slamming K’ firmly onto the gravel covered ground.

K’ writhed in extreme discomfort from the beating which he had been subjected to, and he didn’t even think that his opponent would be outright working him like this. He grit his teeth and then clenched his hands firmly into fists. K’ now then focused on the energy within and conjured the flames once more as he opened his hands. K’ angrily slammed his hands onto the ground, causing a large burst of flame to explode from within. Raphael widened his eyes and he jumped back the moment K’ slammed his hands onto the gravel covered ground. He watched as the gravel around and underneath K’ heated up to the point where the gravel now was glowing red hot, almost melting from the heat which the white haired and dark skinned man generated.

“NOW YOU’VE REALLY DONE IT, YOU FREAK!!” K’ shouted with fiery fury.

Raphael then moved his right hand down and he slipped it to one of the small pouches attached to it, now taking hold of one of the smoke pellets inside. Quickly, he tossed it forward to the direction K’ happened to be the moment he stepped forward and now ran in towards the Turtle. When the pellet hit the gravel, it erupted in a burst of flame and black smoke wafted across the area, now obscuring K’s vision but the man didn’t even so much as care as he continued on with his violent charge to the Turtle, but to his surprise— as soon as he punched his flaming right fist out, he found that he would ultimately end up striking at nothing but air.

“WHAT?! WHERE’D YOU GO, FREAK?!!” K’ shouted.

The fiery tempered man turned his head from right to left, now glaring at the construction site surrounding him as he looked for any sign of his opponent. However, his vision would be immediately cut off as soon as something came down overhead, and now seemingly entrapped him. Raphael managed to sneak up from behind the fiery tempered fighter, dropping a steel oil drum over him.

“HEY!!” K’ shouted.

Raphael then quickly turned with his hips as he thrust his arms forward and out, slamming his fists as hard as he could onto the steel drum. The impact would reverberate through the drum, causing the sound of the strikes to amplify inside to the discomfort of K’ of course. Raphael then moved his hands down and he took hold of his sai, then pulled the weapons out and he spun them, now gripping the handle between his fingers and tucked in his palms. He leaned in with his weight and would punch at the steel drum enveloping K’ as hard as he could, leaving deep dents inside of the steel drum. Raphael finalized this by spinning his sai as fast as he could and he gripped them, only to then thrust both his arms and slammed the handles of his sai into the steel drum and with his strength behind the mighty blow, K’ would be sent flying back some ten feet and hit the ground harshly.

With his anger now boiling over, K’ willed the heat and the flames which he was generating to burn hotter and hotter, and he focused the energy to explode— destroying the steel drum. He shot in a glare to the red masked ninja, and his hands were clenched firmly. If there was one thing left in the world he would do, it would be to turn this mutant Turtle into nothing more than cinders.

Raphael then set his sights to whatever was behind K’ and he flung his arms forward and released his twin sai from his grasps. The pronged weapons would move past the Turtle’s opponent and strike what appeared to be some sort of lever control and this was enough to raise K’s curiosity as he turned around. The white haired, dark skinned man now widened his eyes as he realized that behind him was a cement mixer, and now liquid cement would be pouring all over him, the weight of the fluid now causing him to fall back. K’s flames were extinguished from the mixture of water and mortar, and now he found himself sluggish and slow from the mix as he firmly planted his hands onto the ground and tried to push himself to rise but was still being pushed down by the pouring mix.

The red masked hot-headed Turtle stepped calmly over to his opponent, who was finished being poured on with concrete and now was facing the possibility that he might be stuck in the mix and potentially stuck that way when the mix would try. K’ just moved his head up, shooting a glare to Raphael before the red masked Turtle would swing his right arm across, slamming the blunt handle of his sai hard across K’s head.

K’ dropped onto his side from the impact. There would be no flames, no movement. Raphael took in a deep breath of air through his nostrils, and began to count down from ten. When he had counted to zero… Raphael nodded in satisfaction of his victory and now looked over to his brothers.

“ALRIGHT!!” Michelangelo shouted.

“Well done, well done!” Donatello spoke.

Raphael stepped over towards his brothers and looked over to them. Michelangelo grinned and raised his left hand up, and Raphael moved his sai down to his belt before he raised his right hand up and slapped Michelangelo’s palm. Donatello looked to his hot-headed brother, and nodded in approval to his victory. Leonardo on the other hand, looked to the opposing team and was making note of their reactions.

“Well, K’s down… Damn! That’s not exactly a good start.” Maxima sighed.

“Kula wants to have fun! Kula thinks Turtles are fun!” Kula spoke in the third person.

However, the mysterious member— the Kunoichi, remained silent and merely gave Maxima and Kula something of a side-eyed glanced, before she returned her attention over to the Turtles. Spotting Leonardo watching them, the Kunoichi merely nodded her head in acknowledgement of the Turtle and crossed her arms in front of her chest. Whoever that mysterious player was, definitely had Leonardo’s attention. The red masked field leader turned and now looked over to his brothers. As Raphael already had secured a win for the team, it was time for someone else to come up to bat.

“Alright, who’s next?” Leonardo inquired.

Raphael then looked over to his younger, energetic and eager brother. He moved his left hand out and slapped at Michelangelo’s shell, while also pushing him to go ahead. The younger, wily Turtle then looked over to Leonardo and nodded his head as he was quite willing to proceed with the next match. The field leader of the Turtles nodded back to Michelangelo and now looked over to the opposing team to see who would approach.

“Kula wants to have fun! It’s Kula’s turn!” Kula spoke out as she then skipped her way to her opponent.

“Well, I guess it’s our turn to play huh?” Michelangelo chuckled.

The red masked wily Turtle moved his arms down and he took hold of the chained clubs which were strapped to his belt, now drawing out his twin nunchaku and then spun them around before he would swing them vertically upward and then down, now tucking them underneath his arm pits. He moved to his fighting stance, and now bounced on his toes, easing himself to be ready for the fight ahead… But Michelangelo blinked as he watched as Kula now seemingly was creating ice formations from her feet, the ground underneath her feet frosting over.

“Oh-kaaaaaay…” Michelangelo raised his left brow in a quizzical manner.

“Mikey! This one has ice powers! Be careful out there!!” Leonardo hollered out.

“Turtles are funny! Kula and funny Turtle are going to have fun!” The petite blue haired girl smiled innocently.

Michelangelo nodded in regards to Leonardo’s warning and realized that this one perhaps might be something of a challenge. But if he could get through this one… Then he might come out of this and hopefully become a better ninja. If Raphael was able to beat Iori Yagami and K’, both opponents who utilized flames… then he might be able to beat someone who utilized the polar opposite power.

The red masked wily Turtle, and the blue haired petite girl circled around one another before they rushed in, colliding with one another to kick start the next match.

The next match up between the Mirage Turtles and K' Team has finally been posted!

Writing out the recap between Raphael and K' was something of a difficult challenge but at the same time very easy because I had wanted to get across that Raphael had managed to get some experience in the matches he has participated in this tournament, and likely has learned to deal with opponents who use their Ki to empower themselves to achieve superhuman abilities. Hopefully, that was one which was conveyed well enough here in the recap-- and I did my best to portray Raphael being able to keep toe to toe with someone like K' before he would switch tactics to use the environment.

I honestly had to choose between a few of the remaining fighters to see who would go next, and I had to choose between Michelangelo, Donatello, Leonardo and Kula Diamond, Maxima and the mysterious Kunoichi. I feel as if the mysterious Kunoichi someone who should either be third or last. So I was left with two fighters in mind, and I narrowed it down to Michelangelo and Kula Diamond. I think this is one of those matches which does make sense here, as Michelangelo is the most laid back and chill of the Turtles when compared to someone like Leonardo or Raphael-- especially the Mirage versions here, and of course Kula Diamond-- someone who generally has a very childlike personality and tends to view fighting as playing. Also it would be a good contrast to the last match too.

Remember-- ENVIRONMENT IS ALSO A FACTOR IN THIS BATTLE! Something I feel like people need to seriously consider.

For new readers who are just hopping onto this storyline here, I suggest you look at the Mirage TMNT Respect Thread to see what the Mirage Turtles are more than capable of.

Michelangelo is Low Tier Superhuman in terms of physicals. Think Above Peak Human due to his mutation and training.

Michelangelo possesses his Twin Nunchaku, Shurikens, Smoke Bombs, and Kunai.

Kula Diamond is in Athletic Condition for a teenage girl of her size and stature.

Kula Diamond has her moveset from the KOF games.

I like Kula Diamond and I think she'll give Michaelangelo a good fight before he outmaneuvers her.

So you're saying Mikey's gonna take this one eventually?

Great set-up as usual, Rakai. Raph not only beat K', but he pretty much was in control of most of the fight, whether he was going toe-to-toe or using his ninjutsu and the environment.

As for the match, from what I've seen and read with Kula, her outwardly-innocent persona belies the fact that she's a powerful and dangerous assassin. Michelangelo's gonna have to be careful head-to-head, since even her breath can literally freeze him in his tracks. Between his skills and what's he's already faced in the tourney and elsewhere, though, he should likely be able to pull through.

Also, there's surely some kind of torch or other heat-based tools on the site Mikey might be able to use to somewhat neutralize Tula's attacks.

I'm liking this side of Raphael, brutal but not without a sense of humor to his violence, as the idea of the metal barrel may seem comical, but also functions quite well for the purposes of this fight, in wearing down K' quite a bit. Raph is certainly a man of anger, but also has a dry wit too him, that is a good bit more mature, than the comedy we might expect from Michelangelo, that being said Raph never loses focus in a fight all that much either, so he does manage to balance himself out quite well personality wise. In this match, I could feel the pain in both fighters, and I'd be hard pressed to determine who was more injured by the end of this, sure Raph won, but he did so after sustaining many perhaps 2nd or 3rd degree burns, so he'll be hurting from them for a little while, but K' in the end, had a brutal beat down just the same, so... a tough call.

If I were Mikey, I might just stay sky bound here, if possible, as Kula's power seem to function better on the ground than in the sky, so maybe aerial or jump attacks are the way to go, leap at her and press the advantage from there until an opening can be created to finish her. Have the Turtles ever been frozen before?  I wonder how their bodies would react to extreme cold versus how they have reacted to extreme heat? That being said, I can see Mikey finding a way to win here, but it is going to take some creativity on his part to find a way to properly counter Kula's powers.

Thanks for the comments, I appreciate it! Always great to hear from you DSkillz!

Well, it is true that Kula is an outwardly innocent persona but she's not an assassin for NESTS anymore according to KOF lore-- she's since abandoned that part of herself when NESTS seemingly was destroyed and wants to have nothing but fun. But she doesn't really know her own strength in terms of her abilities, and she's always worried if she's severely injured or killed her opponent. She's not out to kill here but that doesn't make her any less of a challenge for Michelangelo, because of her cryokinetic abilities, and that's something which Michelangelo, as a reptile HAS to be careful about.

Are there any torces or heat based tools in the area? Probably but Michelangelo may have a way to get around this potential problem he faces.

Always great to hear from you Z451!

I honestly felt like as if I may have fumbled a bit with Raphael and K' fight, in that it wasn't as brutal and violent as I normally would have written him to be but at the same time, we need to remember that they are fighting in a tournament and the Turtles have to practice some measure of restraint-- at least when it comes to some opponents who show them some modicum of respect or aren't outright outwardly or inherently evil. As for some comedic elements, I think that was unintentional with the oil drum that Raphael used, as I wanted to show case that some weapons can come from the environment. And in a construction site, that offers a lot of weapons for both sides to use if they needed to use it.

Excellent breakdown of the match here. Have the Turtles ever been frozen before? As far as the Mirage continuity goes, well... As far as I know, not really but I do know that in Vol. 4's Mirage run, when the Turtles are in their 30's, Raphael does mention that he doesn't really like the cold and would prefer to be in Florida and this was right after the Turtles fought a gang in New York during the winter season. However, the Turtles have shown to function fine enough in winter climates without much gear, so they may or may no longer be cold blooded-- but for the sake of making a safe bet, I'm going to assume they're still cold blooded, and may be affected by colder climates if left for a prolonged period. I do know that REAL LIFE NORMAL Turtles tend to hibernate or brumate during colder climates, and most aquatic species bury themselves under mud mounds in ponds or rivers, and slow their metabolism and heart beats.

Battle of the 12.0 Win/Loss Ratios!  There can only be 1!

Let's not do that, I'd rather Michelangelo's record not be marred unless it's done in my arc.
