  2. NEW CHARACTER RUMBLE! From across time and space, Eve, Lydia, and Cana join forces to defeat The Brain. But The Brain has taken precautions and has CX-2 and Mustard protecting him. Can team 1 complete their mission to assassinate The Brain?

  4. If the Stunticons can only be in vehicle mode, then I'm going with M.A.S.K. Their vehicles are made for vehicular combat. Cybertronians usually just fight in their robot modes. M.A.S.K. also has flying vehicles, giving them a massive advantage.
  5. X-23 takes it mid diff. She’s got way better combat feats and I doubt Hollow’s skin will hold up against adamantium claws.
  6. Gunray is corrupt and greedy to his core, he barely hesitated to try to have two Jedis killed when they presented a threat to his plans, I doubt he’d hesitate to try the same on Kirk. Sorry but I just don’t see how Kirk is gonna stop Gunray diplomatically. Especially since Gunray knows that if he doesn’t go through with the blockade Sidious will likely have him killed.
  7. Another good set-up, Johnny. Glad I'm getting to these latest arc chapters on time. As for the match, it looks like Britain has most of the advantages here. He just seems to be more powerful overall than Guardian.
  8. THE XAVIER INVITATIONAL TOURNAMENT PART 11 TEAMS AND SET-UP In a steel factory setting conjured by the Danger Room, Jean Grey and Polaris used their respective powers of telekinesis and magnetic manipulation to throw steel beams and large pieces of lumber at one another. Both of their shields held up strong at the start but were beginning to fade from the stress of the back and forth battle. With exhaustion setting in, Jean’s shield dissipated first. Lorna seized on this opportunity and quickly bound Jean in steel sheeting. Jean fell to the ground. Lorna lifted a large pile of pipes and levitated them over Jean. POLARIS: Nothing personal, but I’m ending this now Jean. Before being buried in metal rubble, Jean fired back with her telekinesis and held the pipes in the air. The two powerful mutants struggled for control. The protective mutant, Lifeguard, watched in awe nearby inside the simulation. Outside the Danger Room, their combined teammates Cyclops, Beast, Iceman, Archangel, Havok, Strong Guy, Quicksilver, and Multiple Man along with Magneto watched intently in silence. POLARIS: You’re not beating me this time! Lorna’s magnetic forcefield faded away as she put more of her power into overpowering Jean’s defense. Jean quickly upended Lorna with a surge of telekinesis and Lorna crashed into a series of conveyor belts. Jean then pushed the metal pipes backward. The heavy collection of steel cylinders went flying and descended upon the downed Polaris. HAVOK: Lorna! Lifeguard, Heather Cameron, quickly swooped in and protected the defenseless Lorna. Jean freed herself from the metal binding Polaris had trapped her in.Polaris looked up at Lifeguard as she cocooned around her. POLARIS: I just lost, didn’t I? LIFEGUARD: Afraid so. COMPUTER VOICE: The winner is Jean Grey. That is one point for the Original X-Men team. Polaris took off the helmet given to her by her father and pounded the ground in frustration. Jean then joined them. JEAN GREY: Quick to react as ever, Heather. LIFEGUARD: I knew I had to stay ready. I knew you would both pull out all the stops to win. Polaris rose to her feet and shook Jean’s hand. POLARIS: You never cease to amaze me, Jean. I really thought I had you there. Jean Grey chuckled. JEAN GREY: So did I. If that final push wouldn’t have worked, I would have had nothing left. The three women exited the Danger Room. Cyclops and Havok rushed to Jean and Lorna respectively. Magneto greeted Jean with a slow clap. MAGNETO: Impressive. After all this time, you truly remain Charles’s star pupil. Magneto then turned his attention to the X-Factor team. MAGNETO: That is true straight losses for your team. I hope for your team’s sake that you can turn around before you fall too far behind. HAVOK: Don’t worry about us. MAGNETO: I try not to. Havok was then approached by his brother. CYCLOPS: Since we have not been paired against one another I do wonder what they have in store for us. HAVOK: I have some ideas. CYCLOPS: Whoever it is, give ‘em hell, Alex. JEAN GREY: I am looking forward to some rest before the next round of matches. That was quite draining. BEAST: Also very exciting and fascinating. CYCLOPS: Let’s move out, team. Beast, Angel, and Iceman followed Cyclops and Jean and took their leave. As did Magneto after Lorna returned the helmet to him. POLARIS: I’m sorry, Alex. I failed. STRONG GUY: They certainly haven’t made it easy for us, being paired off against some X-Men legends back to back to start. Looking forward to when we get a crack at some of the kids. QUICKSILVER: I’m not trying to duck anyone. That is a coward’s way. HAVOK: Me neither. It doesn’t matter who we are paired against, we should have the confidence that we can win. MULTIPLE MAN: Easy for you to say, I think you could probably blast away anyone here. QUICKSILVER: Are you not confident that you will win your match? MULTIPLE MAN: That depends on which me you’re asking. HAVOK: Let’s go watch the other matches for this round, we can start to narrow down the options that will be left for Pietro, Jamie, and I. X-Factor walked to one of the several rooms with giant tvs linked to the feed from the Danger Room. After the last match of the second round between Captain Britain of Excalibur and Guardian concluded, the team was called over by Dr. Cecilia Reyes. HAVOK: I assume you are here to take us to the next fight. CECILIA REYES: Yes I am. MULTIPLE MAN: Our team is going first, again? Hardly seems fair. CECILIA REYES: I don’t see any inherent advantages or disadvantages either way. The possibilities for your next opponent is shrinking but it still remains vast in possibilities. HAVOK: The connections between fighters have made sense so far, Guido and Piotr, Lorna and Jean. I am still unsure about who Jamie and I are going to be squaring off against but I think I have Pietro’s opponent pegged. Assuming they are the ones that are waiting for us. QUICKSILVER: I think we are both thinking of the same mutant. When they arrived at the Danger Room they were met by the X-Men Blue team of Wolverine, Jubilee, Rogue, Psylocke, and Rogue. X-Men Blue was undefeated thus far after victories by Gambit and Psylocke. HAVOK: Not who I was expecting. WOLVERINE: Right back at ya, pal. ROGUE: I’m a little confused. I could see myself in a fight against Strong Guy, but he already fought Colossus. Pietro and I have some history with the Brotherhood, is that it? CECILIA REYES: You are not fighting in this round, Rogue. Jubilee’s eyes widened. JUBILEE: You guys aren’t putting me against Havok are ya? CECILIA REYES: No, you aren’t fighting in this round either. WOLVERINE: So, it’s finally my turn. CECILIA REYES: That is correct, Logan. WOLVERINE: Hmmm, I would have figured if I was fighting someone from this version of X-Factor, it would have been Rahne. But, she isn’t here. CECILIA REYES: Initially, Sage had you pegged in a matchup against Feral from X-Force. The connection was obvious with your shared history of barely controlled rage and injuring teammates during training. However, I talked her out of it when it became clear I would be the one on hand for your matchup and I didn’t want to get caught up in the crossfire of a violent fight pushed too far by anger. ROGUE: A wise call, suga. WOLVERINE: Then who is my opponent here? CECILIA REYES: Multiple Man. Jamie smiled. MULTIPLE MAN: Oh thank god, I was certain I was going to be facing Banshee or Monet. JUBILEE: Why would you think that? MULTIPLE MAN: One of my dupes slept with Monet while I was with Siryn and then… you know what there’s no need to talk about it right now. WOLVERINE: If you were worried that M was going to beat you senseless, I have bad news for you, Maddrox. You ended up in a worse place. I’m just a little disappointed my matchup wasn’t against someone stronger. Jamie was unbothered and held up a copy of his own file from Xavier’s records and read it aloud. MULTIPLE MAN: Jamie used to have a max limit of creating 50 clones or “dupes” as he has named them, however in recent times that limit has grown far greater and the current cap is unknown. Ohh, that sounds like it might be a problem for you Wolverine. Jamie stomped his foot to create a dupe. The dupe grabbed the file from Jamie Prime and continued to read. DUPE #1: Each dupe has all the skills and abilities of the original Jamie and can sustain injury or even die without affecting him. Not that I would want to die, but it’s always good to be reminded. Jamie stomped his foot again to create another dupe who then took the file. DUPE #2: Jamie can reabsorb the dupes at any time, gaining whatever knowledge and abilities they have acquired and in the process can also help heal himself from injury. Tell me Logan, does that make you feel a little less special? Wolverine unsheathed his claws. WOLVERINE: It’s going to take a whole lot more than parlor tricks and an army of pranksters to shake my confidence, bub. I’ll cut all of you down. CECILIA REYES: I feel the need to interject again and remind everyone that this is just a friendly skirmish. I’m here to tend to potential injuries not maimings. WOLVERINE: Heh. Wouldn’t dream of it. MULTIPLE MAN: You know Logan, even with all my years of experience having lived a hundred lives simultaneously I still don’t think I would be able to defeat you one on one. DUPE #1: However, a whole army of me… Multiple Man created several more dupes of himself. DUPE #3: You don’t stand a chance. WOLVERINE: We’ll just have to find out. Maybe this will be a better challenge than I thought. CECILIA REYES: Wolverine, Multiple Man, please step into the Danger Room. The third round begins with the two of you. Logan and Jamie stepped into the Danger Room which transformed into a research facility that shared elements of the one near where Jamie was born in New Mexico and the Weapon X facility where adamantium was bonded to Logan’s bones. ROGUE: If there was concern about Logan going berserk during this tournament, I don’t think selecting this as a location was the best idea. CECILIA REYES: The thought process is to test both Logan and Jamie’s concentration when being potentially distracted by images of the past. Both of their lives were shaped by these facilities for better and for worse.
  9. Okay, I've spent much of my log-in time today reading through the matches in this arc, and I think I'm almost caught up now. Good set-up, Johnny. There's been some interesting match-ups between characters in the X-Men lore in this arc, and this is no exception. As for the match, I think things might have to risk getting serious for a winner to be decided here. Hollow may have her diamond-hard skin, but I'm not sure that's much of an advantage for her. X-23 might match her agility, and she has a good chance to pierce Hollow's flesh with her claws. Add in Laura's superior combat abilities and smarts and healing factor, and I think she takes this.
  10. Megastory 27.4 Previously: Computer whiz, Chip Chase hacked the Decepticon code and Agent Fowler and Major Lennox were sent to retrieve him. Laserbeak was already there and exposed himself battling Lennox while Agent Fowler and Cliffjumper took Chip to Autobot City. Chip confessed to having sent his code breaker to a friend, Raphael Esquavel. An enemy was already onto Raph and with the help of Jack Darby, he evaded capture. When the target escaped inside the Autobot Cliffjumper, Laserbeak withdrew. He was afraid to report back empty-handed but there was nothing to gain by lingering. By the time he was gone, Cliffjumber returned having dropped off Fowler and Chase at Autobot City. Lennox looked a little pissed. “Where’s my backup?” the human snarled. Staying in car mode Cliffjumper opened his door. “Come one pal. Who needs back up when you got me?” With a disgusted smirk, Lennox got in. “I think we have Laserbeak tracked.” Cliffjumber said. “You up for going after him.?” “Laserbeak doesn’t get tracked. He tracks people.” “That’s why he’s going to be so surprised when we show up at his doorstep.” “Cliffjumper change in plans.” Ultra Magnus spoke through the communication network. “Chip has an accomplice. We need you landbridge over there and pick him up.” “But we wanted to surprise Laserbeak.” “He still doesn’t know we’ve got him tagged. Grab the package and get back here. I’ll make sure you and Lennox are on the assault team.” “We got a deal!” Right in front of his path a land bridge opened that would take him to his next mission. * * * * * * * Jack started to doubt his helping a guy he barely knew evade the police. For all his chivalry, Raf could be guilty of something serious and he was helping a traitor or something. On the other hand, Jack was concerned of what would happen to Raf’s family. They way those guys were treating them in their own house, it just wasn’t right. Only one cop seemed to be on their trail. But there had to be some trap set. When they came out of the neighborhood, a motorcyclist pulled up. “Who are you?” The woman on the bike didn’t actually look at Jack. Her helmet never even turned in his direction. Through the communication network, an operative addressed the stranger. “Stand by. Facial recognition running. He’s a neighbor. No threat signature.” “What are you doing here?” The motionless motorcyclist asked. Jack sputtered. “He looked like he was in trouble. I was trying to help him.” “Checks out.” Agent Fowler’s voice came through the comm. “Bring him.” “How? I can only carry one!” A red Suzuki Swift pulled up. “Relax Arcee. We’ve got you covered. Should have stayed with your car altmode.” “Up yours Cliffjumper.” Arcee spat. Knowing how unnerving this must have been for the two kids, Major Lennox opened Cliffjumper’s door smiling. I’m Major Lennox with the army. You guys are in trouble and we can protect you. Climb in.” Timidly, Jack and Raphael stepped closer. Suddenly the rider on the motorcycle disappeared. “You get on here.” Arcee said to Jack. Confused for a minute, Jack’s eye gleemed a bit at the thought of riding a motorbike. He gave a reassuring nod to Raf as the young kid got into Cliffjumper with Lennox and then they pulled away, a land bridge just ahead of them. * * * * * * * After they arrived at Autobot City, the humans were offloaded and Cliffjumber and Arcee transformed. Greeting them was Agent Fowler and Ultra Magnus. “We’ve still got Laserbeak tracked. But I was too hasty in making promises to you. The humans want their Mobile Armored Strike Kommand team to take point on this. Autobot’s will serve as back up.” “What. Decepticons are our problem!” Cliffjumber complained. “I know but as our agreement to have Autobot City on Earth, the native population want to handle as much Decepticon as they can. They have a right to call dibs on a strike.” Arcee spoke up. “So we’re going to sit here and watch them take out our enemies.” “I’m glad you recognize that Earthers can handle Decepticons quite effectively. Keep in mind things to get too hot for them sometimes and we’re needed to put a punctuation on it.” Snarling and murmuring, Cliffjumper stomped off. * * * * * * * Matt Trakker was excited to be given point on this sortie. After final victory of their appointed rivals V.E.N.O.M, M.A.S.K had been downgraded to support roles. It was a wonder they were not disbanded altogether. * * * * * Laserbeak wasn’t one of the Decepticons best spy because he unwittingly lead the enemy back to their bases. Even if he didn’t know how, he knew that he was being tracked. A call for instructions arranged for backup and a trap. * * * * * * “I’m not understanding where he’s headed.” Matt Trakker complained. Agent Fowler spoke to the M.A.S.K. team on behalf of the Autobots. “The Decepticon’s hide pretty good. Stay with him and be ready for him to disappear or something all of a sudden.” One of the other M.A.S.K. guys chimed in. “Incoming! Suspected hostiles sighted!” A visual feed to Autobot city gave the support team an image. “Stunticons.” Ultra Magnus murmured. Fowler updated the team. “Those are Stunticons. They’re a wild bunch and their going to come at you hard. Keep away from civilians.” Ultra Magnus felt compelled to add something. “Operatives beware, this is a gestal group. They can combine into a giant name Menasor. If that happens disengage.” “Let’s keep that from happening.” Trakker gritted his teeth as five vehicles closed the distance fast. Fight Parameters: The M.A.S.K. team must engage the Stunticons in the city streets. They will try to take the fight away from populations. The Stunticons will remain in car mode and will not transform nor combine into Menasor. Who wins?
  11. When it comes to game characters, I'm very iffy about utilizing game mechanics because they're implemented to make the game more fun for the player, especially when it comes to fighting game characters. Because then we're going to be talking about frame rates, invincibility mechanics, etc... For me, the best way to gauge a game character from a fighting game is to look at cutscenes or in-canonical alternative media such as Street Fighter IV: Ties That Bind, and the Juri OVA. To my knowledge, those are the only canonical films which do line up with the games. A case CAN be made for Joey Ansah's Assassin's Fist live action movie, as it's an adaptation of the games canon-- which also incorporates elements from the non-canonical Alpha OVA films, but I feel like it's a grey area for that specific film. As for the Udon comics? That's also a grey area, while the story and timelines don't line up with the games, the powers of the characters do save for a few elements which are completely original to Udon (i.e. Shin Ryu, Darkstalkers vs Street Fighter, Petra, etc). Yeah, Ken is definitely someone who is more skilled than Kula... But as for Guile? I don't know. I do know that Ken and Guile are brothers in law, because their respective wives are sisters to each other, and they likely have fought each other around the events of Street Fighter II, but Capcom's stance on the story of SFII (and it's iterations) are muddy at best. SFII happened but other than that, no word on who fought who and who beat who has ever really been released-- the only concrete information is that Akuma killed Bison. Sorry for my little tangent. That's something which I have been trying to show A LOT of people that while the TMNT work best as a team, they can fight individually just as good. And I feel like that is something which people don't really take into consideration because they've been shown working as a team more often than not. There were more scans of Michelangelo fighting on his own, but I omitted from posting them up. Here's some more of Michelangelo fighting a genetically altered Triceraton who was developed more for speed than brute strength. And this was Michelangelo after he was starved and tortured. Possibly. But I would think that Ken is fairly tough enough to fight through pain. I was considering on pulling the healing ability which Ken had demonstrated in Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie, but I wasn't too sure if that would've been a good idea as it would've put Michelangelo at a disadvantage more so. Ken has the experience and power, Michelangelo has the speed and unpredicability. And both are not at one hundred percent... I would think that Michelangelo's fight with Guile might have worn him out, and Ken's fight with Raphael... MAYBE I shouldn't have had Raphael injure him in that way but the votes were really close. Oh well, live and learn I guess.
  12. I'm glad I caught this match in time, so it wasn't scratched. I really liked it and that would have been a shame.
  13. From a game mechanics standpoint, Ken has been the strongest character in SF6 for pros and casuals since its release which on its face would speak to how well his fighting style matches up against a variety of other martial arts and styles which I think would serve him well against the turtles. As for how he compares to the fighters Michaelangelo has fought thus far in this arc, I think the strongest fighters Mikey has defeated are Guile and Kula Diamond. I would pick Ken over either of those two as well as over Mai who is Mikey's only defeat thus far. Outside of the arc into their actual lore, I would have thought the only real advantage Michelangelo would have would be in team fighting or fighting large groups neither of which is useful in this scenario. However, I don't want to discount his one-on-one fighting experience especially given the scans shared in this thread. Could Ken use the injured ribs as a motivation to push himself even harder to victory? Perhaps. Would it even matter since an injured Ken puts him at a supreme disadvantage despite being the fresher of the two, probably not.
  14. A crushing victory for Gambit, a devastating defeat for Dr. Facilier. But then again, with X-Men '97 being out, I think popularity also played a part in this win, aside from Gambit's abilities, which I think were enough to ensure the win anyways.
  15. Yeah, out of all the Turtles, Donatello is generally considered to be the nice guy of the bunch but he's not afraid to fight if he's go to. He's even had to teach Casey Jones a lesson one time, especially when Casey was in a drunken stupor as he was extremely depressed after having killed a teenage boy by mistake during one of his patrols. But yeah, I had to write out how the fight between Donatello and Chun-Li would've gone, and I wanted to show that Donatello had to make a use of his skills, his gadgets and ingenuity to deal with someone like Chun-Li who often gets by with her own grace and skill. I saw this as a match between rigidity and fluidity, assuming that's an appropriate analogue for it. A very good and decent breakdown to how this fight could play out! As always, thanks for commenting!

  17. Heehee Donnie's a softie, but he knows what to do to get the win and how to effectively provide a win for his team as well. People shouldn't underestimate him, similar to Mikey, but often some do. His use of the smoke pellet, roomba, and staff was a great move, and I'm glad you used it, as it shows how Donnie is a fighter capable of both strategizing and innovating his techniques based on equipment, strategy and experience. The fight shown here was well balanced, and presented a good narrative for how the Turtles can win against these Street Fighter upper echelon opponents. A lot of people seem to think that they are far more impressive than they actually are because of the accomplishments they have, but I think the Turtles do stand a great chance of winning here as the experiences they have had, have improved them by leaps and bounds, and I think that will be enough for them to win the rest of their matches here. Ken is a tough opponent, but I think that Mikey can win this one if he works to take advantage of the openings that Ken provides when he goes in close for his quick-hit combos, as his need to stay up close and personal leaves him vulnerable to counters and counterattacks viable in taking him down. Ken is also, all about timing in his attacks, and if Mikey can work to interrupt or interfere with that aspect of his fighting style, then he could exploit that and do some real damage against his opponent. Mike is quick, but he is also tactical, and I think that in being so, Mike could potentially turn the tide in a way Raphael could not. Raph was an offensive-speed based fighter, while Mike is speed-strategy based, and I think that difference in my opinion will lead to a different fight and different results when paired with Ken by comparison.
  18. Pretty good Megastory chapter, leroy, if a bit short. Haven't since a lot of animes outside of DBZ, and I haven't seen a Pacific Rim film yet, but glancing at pages for both mechas, the Zeorymer just seems more powerful. Given that it's also being piloted by the Dragon Emperor with all his combat skill and experience, I'd have to think that the Zeorymer would probably win this duel.
