Cracker Jack pumped his left arm out three times, taking aim for the mutant Terrapin’s face before he would turn and lean in with his weight, aiming to deliver a solid straight at his opponent’s nose. But Michelangelo ducked and weaved from the incoming jabs before he side-stepped to his left and quickly evaded the incoming punch. Cracker Jack turned to meet the other combatant head on before he would come out swinging his right and left arm, intending on blasting Michelangelo with his mighty punches. But the wily Turtle leaned back from the fighting bouncer’s fists and hopped away from Jack to get some space between himself and the bouncer. Jack rushed ahead and the man immediately thrust his left arm out in a straight punch for the Turtle’s head once more before pumping his right arm up in an uppercut fashion for the mutant Red Ear Slider’s plastron. However, Michelangelo side-stepped to his left, evading the punch and hopped back from the fist moving for his mid-section. Jack roared as he rushed in once more, now leaning in with his weight as he quickly thrust his right arm out as he intended to slam his fist directly into Michelangelo’s face once again.

The wily Turtle instead turned and leaned to his left before stepping inside to move in towards his opponent. Quickly, Michelangelo spun his nunchaku within his right hand, and he swung it vertically, intending on impacting his weapon firmly into Jack’s chin. The Turtle would find his mark, causing Cracker Jack’s head to forcibly lean back and made the bouncer stumble briefly. Grinning, Michelangelo again spun and twirled his nunchaku, now bringing them both down at Cracker Jack’s shoulders, striking the fighting bouncer firmly. Jack winced and grunted in discomfort as he felt the crunch on his shoulder and the sting in his muscles.

Michelangelo twirled his nunchaku and swung them horizontally at Cracker Jack’s mid-section, striking the bouncer on his ribs. Jack grunted out in pain as he could feel the sting of Michelangelo’s weapons moving into him, feeling his ribs compress with each impact the Turtle managed to land. Jack quickly moved his arms back, tucking himself in defensively as he worked to block Michelangelo’s nunchaku with his forearms. But Jack was no stranger to pain, he had learned to take as much as he could give.

Quickly, Jack threw his arms up and parted them— forcing Michelangelo to stop in his attacks. Grunting with fury, Jack leaned forward, and he pumped his left and right arm out, aiming to slam his fist directly into Michelangelo’s face. The red masked wily Turtle widened his eyes in surprise, only to allow himself to drop back and he threw his weight back, now rolling away from his opponent.  Michelangelo rolled back up to his feet, and he pounced forward only to now snap his right leg out as he took aim for Jack’s chest. The bouncer widened his eyes, and he crossed his arms out in front of himself, blocking the Turtle’s foot with his forearms. As Michelangelo landed, Jack quickly swung his left arm diagonally up back in a backfist motion before he would swing his right arm as a follow up in a hook punch. Michelangelo quickly leaned back from the two punches, quickly evading them as he felt nothing but the breeze moving in front of him. The red masked Turtle responded by turning with his weight and thrusting his arms out, striking his fists into Jack’s mid-section before he tensed his leg muscles and leapt to the air, only to thrust both his legs out and slammed his feet into the bouncer’s chest as he landed a mighty drop kick.

Jack gasped as he felt the Turtle’s feet hitting into him and he suddenly felt himself being flung off from his feet and gravity pull him down, slamming down onto his back. Quickly, he placed his hands on the ground and pushed himself to his feet before clenching his hands firmly and squaring himself up into his fighting stance. Michelangelo quickly bounced to his feet and snapped back into his own stance after spinning his nunchaku and tucking the ends underneath his arms. The two stared to one another, now circling each other as they observed each other.

Michelangelo shifted with a step, and he snapped the nunchaku in his right hand forward, sending the end of the weapon out at Jack. The bouncer quickly weaved to the side, evading the weapon quite expertly. Michelangelo swung the nunchaku in his left hand upward as he aimed to have it strike at Jack’s chin, but the bouncer leaned back, moving away from the incoming weapon. Jack quickly reached back behind himself and drew out a short wooden back and swung it across—firmly impacting Michelangelo in his plastron, sending the Turtle flying.

“What the fuck?! HEY!” Raphael shouted as he stepped forward.

Leonardo and Donatello quickly reached out and took Raphael by the arms, pulling their hot-tempered brother back. Donatello summoned whatever strength he could to at least attempt to hold Raphael. Leonardo also put in some effort, but much like Raphael, he also made it an effort to keep his strength developed. Together, both brothers were able to pull Raphael back in rank. Leonardo shot an icy glare at Raphael.

“Don’t worry about Mike. Let him do this on his own, Raphael.”

The hot-tempered brother simply threw his arms up out of Donatello and Leonardo’s grasp. He looked over at Leonardo with that fiery glare in contrast to Leonardo’s icy stare. Raphael slowly, begrudgingly nodded his head and breathed to calm himself as he now returned his attention to the fight.

Jack gripped the wooden bat in hand as he now rushed over to Michelangelo, raising it overhead before swinging down with it an effort to inflict damage onto the Turtle’s shell. The bat would strike down hard onto Michelangelo’s carapace, causing the mutant Red Ear Slider to grunt in mild discomfort. Cracker Jack raised the bat again, and he struck down at the Turtle’s back once more. Michelangelo dropped onto his plastron and raised his eyes, watching as Jack raised the wooden bat again and was preparing another beating. But rather than sitting there and taking the punishment, Michelangelo scrambled to reposition himself and he parted his legs and closed them around Jack’s ankles and turned with his weight to the left. Jack quickly was forced to fall, and he hit the ground on his side. Michelangelo quickly took this opportunity to bolt to his feet and spun his nunchaku in hand as he snapped into his fighting stance. He took several breaths, working to calm himself after that little scare. But at least the shell served its purpose and he had never been more thankful to be a Turtle.

Michelangelo quickly ran as fast as he could towards Cracker Jack, who was already readying that wooden bat for another swing. The wily Turtle quickly tensed up his leg muscles and he pushed himself to a leap as he pounced ahead, and he threw his weight forward and curled himself into a ball. Jack quickly swung his bat at his incoming opponent, but suddenly felt the mutant Red Ear Slider’s weight colliding into his head as Michelangelo’s shell impacted his face. Jack felt his neck muscles straining as his head was forced back, and he could also feel the compression in the back of his vertebrae as this all happened.

Jack fell hard onto the floor of the terminal and Michelangelo landed feet first after having landed that attack. The bouncer shook his head, working to regain his senses but he immediately found that his weapon was now out of his hands. No matter. Jack didn’t need the bat to do a number on someone. He had beaten many people with just his fists alone, and this would be no different.

Jack placed his fists to palms and cracked his knuckles, clenching his fists and now squared himself up once more as he raised his arms. He tensed up his muscles, summoning the vast strength inside of himself before he dashed forward and zeroed in on the red masked Turtle. As he dashed ahead, Jack quickly unleashed a mighty straight punch from his right for Michelangelo’s face as he aimed to land in a Dash Straight. Michelangelo quickly spun to his left and moved behind the Vegas bouncer. Jack turned to meet Michelangelo and moved in with a Dash Upper from his left fist, intending on firmly striking the Turtle’s face. The mutant Red Ear Slider leaned forward and dove towards the ground, only to now curl himself up as he rolled and quickly moved behind Cracker Jack.

Growing frustrated with this unusual opponent, Jack growled as he turned only to now shift forward with a step and he swung his right leg up, intending on kicking the Turtle’s face with a Soccer Ball Kick.

But Michelangelo pulled one of his nunchaku taut and moved it forward, only to block Jack’s incoming kick and wrapped the nunchaku around his opponent’s ankle. The Turtle made quick execution of his skill in acrobatics, now turning and cartwheel flipped to his right, slamming his feet directly across Jack’s face. The Vegas bouncer felt pain moving across his cheeks and teeth, as spittle flew out from between his lips and hit the floor. Jack stumbled to the side, and he worked to fight through the pain which Michelangelo inflicted upon him. But the wily Terrapin took advantage of this opening as he set himself feet on the ground. He moved in on his opponent, twirling and spinning his weapons only to swing away at Cracker Jack’s mid-section. Loud, fast whipping sounds echoed through the terminal as Michelangelo managed to strike at Jack’s abdominal region multiple times.

Jack winced in discomfort and pain, feeling the pressure beginning to pile on him. But this also worked to stoke the fire inside of himself to a raging inferno. And he would use that to help himself ignore whatever pain he would be put through in this fight. Cracker Jack moved his arms and took hold of Michelangelo by the back of his head, pulling him in closer to himself. He quickly then pumped his right arm up, slamming his fist directly into Michelangelo’s plastron.

The wily Turtle grunted with each impact, feeling the raw strength behind his opponent’s fist. Jack again pulled Michelangelo in towards himself, only to hunch down and take Michelangelo in a fireman’s carry before heaving him up overhead. Jack then would begin to turn in a spin, attempting to disorient the mutant Turtle by making him dizzy before he would throw his arms forward, tossing Michelangelo a good eight feet.

The red masked Turtle would hit the ground flat onto his plastron, and he grunted with mild discomfort. Michelangelo took in a deep breath as he now worked to get over the immediate pain and now heaved as he worked to get through it for the time being. Planting his hands and feet to the ground, Michelangelo pushed himself to rise again, and he set himself into a fighting stance. He twirled his nunchaku and now bounced on his very toes, before he motioned for his right hand for Jack to come at him. Seeing his opponent seemingly taunting him, Jack now shifted closer to the mutant Red Ear Slider, and he pumped his left arm out for Michelangelo’s face, but the Turtle moved his right hand out, slapping away at the incoming punch before he hopped over to his left. Jack turned to now follow the Turtle’s movements, and he jabbed his right fist out once more and then followed up with another jab from his left, but like before— Michelangelo slapped the incoming fists down away from him. Jack punched his right fist forward, then swung across with his left before turning in a spin and moving his right arm across in a spinning back fist. Michelangelo watched his opponent’s movements carefully, only to duck and weave underneath the incoming punches before raising his right arm up and blocking the spinning backfist.

Michelangelo tensed up his leg muscles and pushed himself up, only to throw his body weight back and he swung both his legs up— slamming his feet directly into Jack’s chin and the Turtle soon flipped back onto his feet after having landed a strong backflip kick. Jack fought to keep his balance, only to stumble from the blow and the brief disorientation which came immediately after. He ran after the Vegas bouncer, only to then swing his right led horizontally across for Jack’s legs, and his foot would strike against the side of Jack’s left knee. Michelangelo then pulled his leg back and then snapped it up in a rising side kick for Jack’s forehead, striking the Vegas bouncer enough to jar his senses.

“HNNGH!” Jack grunted as he stumbled once more, now fighting through the pressure as he worked to keep himself in the fight, keeping his hands fists clenched as he also fought to regain his footing.

Cracker Jack now felt his heart beating quickly, he could feel a rush of energy coursing through himself as he felt his strength being renewed. The adrenaline now kicked in, and that would be more than enough to carry him through the fight. He curled his fingers, his knuckles cracking once more as he glared at the wily red masked ninja. Jack quickly ran at Michelangelo before he would kick his right leg out in a front kick, then continued with the assault by jabbing his left and right arm out. Michelangelo stepped back, now slapping his right hand down and deflected the incoming kick, but he swung his arms across outwardly, blocking the two punches with his forearms. Jack clasped his hands together and swung them down for the top of Michelangelo’s head.

Michelangelo quickly shifted with a step forward and he raised his left arm up and positioned his forearm horizontally, stopping the incoming hammer fist from landing onto him but he could definitely feel the strength behind Cracker Jack’s attack. The Vegas bouncer then turned with his weight, and he swung his right and left arm across, intending on striking at Michelangelo’s mid-section but the Turtle immediately spun and he snapped his left leg back out in a spinning back thrust kick, firmly striking Cracker Jack in his solar plexus.

“KIYAI!”

“UMMPH!”

A pit formed in Jack’s stomach, one which he was all too familiar with in his time as a bouncer, but this wouldn’t be enough to put him down. Jack instead shifted with a step forward and he raised his right foot up only to bring it down and aimed to stomp it down hard onto Michelangelo’s foot, but the Turtle instead pulled his left foot back and he snapped it forward in a front kick. Jack crossed his forearms, taking the kick head on as he leaned forward with his weight to resist the push from Michelangelo’s kick. He swung his right arm across in a hook punch before he followed up with a mighty uppercut punch for Michelangelo’s mid-section.

Michelangelo leaned back from the incoming hook punch, and he leapt forward, only to somersault over his opponent and evaded the second incoming punch. Upon landing feet first back on the floor, Michelangelo turned to now face the Vegas bouncer, and he leaned in with his eight as he snapped his right arm out—firmly striking Jack directly in his left cheek, then followed up by spinning the nunchaku in his left hand horizontally over to the right and then back across to the left, striking Cracker Jack in his ribs. Jack couldn’t help but grunt and cough in discomfort and pain, and he could feel the lingering sting behind Michelangelo’s strikes. He knew this pain, and he knew it quite well from his years of fighting… A few of his ribs were bruised. Maybe even cracked.

If Cracker Jack was going to have any chance of winning this, he would have to do it hard and he would have to do it fast. But he didn’t think that his opponent was going to be so difficult. Still… He wouldn’t go down easy if he could help it.

Michelangelo quickly then leaned forward, and he snapped his right leg out in a side kick for Jack’s mid-section, but Cracker Jack crossed his forearms and blocked the kick. However, he moved his arms out and took hold of Michelangelo’s leg and pulled him right in. He leaned forward and thrust his head into Michelangelo’s face, causing the Turtle to yell out in discomfort and pain as he landed a solid head butt. Jack quickly moved his arms and lifted Michelangelo as he took hold of him, only to run forward and he would slam the red masked Terrapin down onto the escalator steps behind him. Seizing the moment, Jack then would stomp his right foot down hard onto Michelangelo’s plastron protected mid-section, before he would thrust and swing his fists down at Michelangelo’s head and face. Jack lifted his right foot, ready to stomp it down onto Michelangelo’s head and came down at him with all the strength and adrenaline infused fury which he could muster.

The wily Turtle pulled his head into his shell, allowing Jack’s head to stomp on the metal step of the escalator with a resounding thud. He peeked his head from his shell, and then quickly snapped his left leg up and out— planting his foot directly in between Jack’s legs. Michelangelo struck his mark, and he watched as Jack now doubled over and screamed from the pain that he would be feeling for quite a while.

“AAAAARRRGH!” Jack screamed in agonizing pain as he placed his hands onto his pelvic region.

“HAH HAH HAH HAH! NICE!” Raphael cheered, bursting into laughter.

Leonardo couldn’t help but cringe at the sight of Jack’s agonizing pain, and Donatello couldn’t help but shake his head as he planted his right hand onto his face. On Jack’s team, Blair just widened her eyes at this as she gasped, covering her mouth with her left hand. Skullomania just covered his eyes as he shook his head from side to side, feeling Jack’s pain even though he wasn’t the one who experienced it.

Michaelangelo flipped himself onto his feet and he twirled his nunchaku swiftly and with skill. He batted away at Cracker Jack’s body, striking away at his injured ribs and his arms. The red masked ninja then leaned forward, and he snapped his left leg out in a side kick, striking Jack’s chin and causing the man’s head to jerk back forcibly. The mutant Red Ear Slider then spun his nunchaku in his right hand, and he pushed himself to a leap as he swung his weapon upward, now striking it up on Jack’s head as he flew up in the air, shouting the name of his attack.

“RISING THUNDER!”

Jack flew up and back, only to be pulled down by gravity and he would hit the solid floor of the terminal. Jack just grunted as he now stared at Michelangelo with a hazy look on his battered and bloodied face, his nose leaking blood from the blow which the Turtle dealt upon him. Jack tried to sit up, attempting to get back up onto his feet. He reached out, as if defiantly trying to grab Michelangelo. But darkness soon overwhelmed him, and he slumped onto the floor. Jack closed his eyes and found himself being enveloped by darkness.

Michelangelo began to count down slowly from ten. He maintained his fighting stance, giving his opponent the benefit of the doubt. But as soon as he counted down to zero… Michelangelo raised his arms up, claiming victory for his brothers before turning and walking his way back over to them.

“You did good there, Mikey. But did you REALLY have to go for the nuts?” Donatello inquired with an amused chuckle.

“Hey man, the guy was on some sort of adrenaline rush. He kinda had me in there for a bit but other than that… I’m okay. Didn’t expect the bat to the shell, but hey… I love being a Turtle!” Michelangelo responded.

“If you four are done celebrating your victory, do remember that there are still two of us left to fight.” Blair spoke.

Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael and Michelangelo looked to one another as if pondering who would be next to fight. With Raphael and Michelangelo already having claimed their matches, it would be up to Donatello and Leonardo to decide. Leonardo then stepped forward and walked over to the remaining two opponents from Team EX. The field leader of the Turtles took the moment to assess the situation and the opponents who awaited him. To his surprise, it would be the woman in the white leotard and black thigh high boots approaching him.

“Monsieur Tortue, I hope you do not object to your opponent being a woman!” Blair spoke, her thick French accent being quite apparent.

“No, I don’t object to a woman being my opponent. I’m what you call an equal opportunity ninja.” Leonardo replied.

“Ah, it’s good to see an enlightened and chivalrous individual. But make no mistake, I will not hold back.” Blair spoke with a hint of iciness in her voice.

“I don’t expect you to. And neither will I.” The Turtle responded.

Leonardo and Blair now made their way to the middle of the terminal, neither one of them taking their eyes off the other. Michelangelo, Donatello and Raphael watched on with interest to see what this new opponent could do and how Leonardo might cope with an opponent like Blair. Skullomania meanwhile, stepped over to the unconscious form of Cracker Jack, slipping his hands underneath the Vegas bouncer’s arms and dragged him over to the still form of Allen Snider.  The skeleton themed hero moved his sights up, now focusing on both Leonardo and Blair Dame.

Blair snapped her arms forward in two quick jabs, before she would snap out a few roundhouse and side kicks as a warm-up exercise. Leonardo rolled his shoulders forward, and he leaned down to the ground to stretch his shoulders and arms out. As he did so, the Turtle’s joints popped as he undid whatever stiffness was there. Quickly, the Turtle pushed himself to his feet as Blair lowered her foot down after doing her warm-up kicks.

Leonardo and Blair focused their intent on one another. Blair moved her fists up and she set herself into a fighting stance, whereas Leonardo moved his arms up and he took hold of the handle of both his twin ninjaken and the katana which Haohmaru allowed him to borrow. The red masked leader of the Turtled spun his blades in hand before he set himself into his own fighting posture.

The silence permeating in the terminal would be broken as both Leonardo and Blair rushed in toward one another, both of them ready to claim victory over the other.

The Mirage TMNT storyline continues and it's also both the last match of 2023 and ushering into the new year of 2024! Honestly, it's kind of surreal looking at it like that because it's been well over a decade since I've been on the CBUB and it only feels like yesterday! Where does the time go?

Anyway, writing out the recap between Michelangelo and Cracker Jack was both easy and relatively difficult at the same time. It was primarily easy for me because Cracker Jack is someone who really doesn't have too many crazy moves compared to the rest of the other Street Fighter cast and yet... I also feel that this makes him relatively generic compared to the rest of the Street Fighter and Fighting Layer characters. He was definitely more of a fisticuffs and brawler type, and his moveset didn't really impress me too much when I looked at a video of his movelist on Youtube. So I had to write out that Michelangelo wouldn't have too much of an issue fighting someone like Cracker Jack.

Now the next match is between Leonardo and Blair Dame. I could've gone the obvious route and have her either fight Michelangelo or Donatello, but I didn't want to do that and instead decided to put Leonardo up against Blair-- if only to have Donatello go up against Skullomania next. Honestly? Now that I think about it-- a lot of the Street Fighter EX and Fighting Layer characters don't really seem to stand out save for maybe Allen, Kairi Mizukami, Hokuto Mizukami, Nanase Mizukami and Skullomania. I don't know why but it just feels like... I probably could have selected someone better. But I feel that Blair was definitely one of the more overlooked characters that Arika created and was unfortunately dropped in Street Fighter EX2 and Street Fighter EX3. I do remember her having an assortment of kicking techniques from the memories I recall from playing Street Fighter EX Plus A. None the less, I do hope that this one will be an entertaining fight for everyone.

Remember-- ENVIRONMENT IS ALSO A FACTOR IN THIS BATTLE! Something I feel like people need to seriously consider.

For new readers who are just hopping onto this storyline here, I suggest you look at the Mirage TMNT Respect Thread to see what the Mirage Turtles are more than capable of.

--

Leonardo (Mirage) is Low Tier Superhuman in terms of physicals. Think Above Peak Human due to his mutation and training.

Leonardo (Mirage) possesses his Ninjaken, Hoahmaru's Katana, Shurikens, Smoke Bombs, and Kunai.

Blair Dame is in Peak Conditioning due to her training.

Blair Dame has her moveset from the Street Fighter EX and Fighting Layer series.

Blair is a pretty buff so she should stronger than what she should be. That could help her pound Leo before he figures her out.

But Who am I kidding? Leonardo wins the fight.

That's one for Leo, thanks for commenting.

Also, Leroy... I hope you don't mind this but I made an avatar for you!

Ha! I'll take it! I gotta show my wife this. She'll probably say it works. Not sure how to apply it to my profile though. Some Moderator I am.

That's easy. Go to your profile and look for the L in the big green circle, there should be a grey box close to it and it will ask you to upload a photo or picture there for your avatar. So download the avatar I made you onto your desk top, and then upload it from there.

Got it. That's bruh! I kind of been wanting to have a profile picture for a while now.

There you go!

Now you look imagined how I pictured you! A boxer clenching their fists as they're tying wraps around their hand!

That's Mickey Rogers from Art of Fighting 2, by the way!

Blair is one of my favorites from the Fighting Layer/EX cast, but she is not superior to many of the other fighters Leonardo has already defeated in this arc. Good breakdown and recap as always.

Yeah, I figured that would be the case but I figure this would also let a chance to have the EX characters shine a bit.

Thanks for commenting!

Leo wins this easy. C’mon Rakai you can give the Turtles better competition than this. Otherwise great match as always!

I've got to make this up now. I just... thought I had something with the EX characters in mind, and this was written post Christmas.

Thanks for the comment.

Another great set-up, Rakai. Good to see that Cracker Jack had somewhat of a fighting chance against Mikey here.

As for the match, Blair Dame's style seems to be kind of based on a pretty dangerous martial art in Krav Maga. Given that and the motivation of just seeing her bodyguard/potential lover Cracker Jack beaten, she may possibly give Leonardo a fairly tough time of it.  Given what Leo's already faced, though, he should be able to pull through this.

On another note, you said you've been writing on CBUB for over a decade? Judging from your register date, it's closer to 15. You might have an anniversary coming up, dude. :)

Oh damn, it really has been that long? Man, I remember signing up in the CBUB in 2008 and fighting for the Predators ever since then, writing up storyline arcs for a couple of Predator characters. Fifteen years, damn I feel old.

Also, thanks for the breakdown of how this fight could go. I feel like after the last match against Team EX, I need to find a team to give the Mirage Turtles a decent challenge.

As always, thanks for commenting!
