Donatello immediately swung out with his metal electro-staff, moving the weapon horizontally across from left to right as he took aim for Manon’s head, but the French Judoka quickly leaned back from the incoming strikes. The mutant Red Ear Slider quickly followed up by bringing the back end of his staff downward as he twirled it in his grasp, aiming to slam the metal onto the head of his opponent. Manon quickly and seemingly turned to her left and spun in a pirouette, evading the weapon rather quickly. Her movements were something which perplexed Donatello, having been caught off guard by the way she gracefully managed to dodge his strikes. If he didn’t know any better, it almost seemed as if she had added ballet to her way of fighting. No matter, he had come across too far in this tournament to be dumbfounded by her, and he was already in pursuit of his opponent as he now twirled and spun his staff in a figure eight motion, moving the weapon from right to left as he shifted with a step to catch and beat down onto Manon with his staff. But like before, Manon turned and hopped back from the Turtle quickly.

Shrugging her shoulders, Manon raised her arms up and kept her hands open as she snapped into her fighting stance. Quickly, she moved in towards the Turtle and took a swipe at the mutant Turtle’s head with her right hand before she then thrust her left arm out, intending on landing an open palm strike onto Donatello’s face. Utilizing a combination of her training in ballet and Martial Arts, Manon then shifted with a step and snapped with her left leg in a side kick but fluidly turned in a spin as she then planted her foot to the ground before snapping her right leg down in a low front kick for Donatello’s shins.

Donatello quickly went onto the defense in response to Manon’s assault, as he raised his staff up to deflect Manon’s initial strikes from her hands, but when the kick came at him, the Turtle repositioned his metal bo-staff in front of himself and watched as Manon’s foot planted itself firmly onto the center of his weapon. Quickly setting his sights when he noticed movement from his opponent’s feet, Donatello swiped the lower end of his staff across, deflecting Manon’s kick away from his legs. She was fast. That much he had to give her credit for.

Continuing with the pressure, Manon again shifted with a step, and she snapped her right leg outward in a rising side kick which was again aimed for the Turtle’s head but like before, Donatello pulled his staff back and positioned it defensively to deflect the incoming blow. Turning in a pirouette spin again, Manon arced her left leg across as she aimed to slam the back of her heel across Donatello’s head in a spinning wheel kick. The red masked Turtle leaned back from the incoming kick and responded by thrusting his staff forward— firmly striking it into Manon’s midsection. Manon widened her eyes in pain as she lurched, almost gagging from having her breath knocked out of her. Donatello quickly swung the back end of his staff up, firmly striking it into Manon’s mid-section once again before he brought the upper end of his staff down, slamming it onto the Judoka’s back, effectively flooring her to the arena ground.

“Alright, Donnie! Make her fight your fight!” Raphael yelled out in support of his brainy brother.

Reeling from the pain which Donatello had inflicted upon her, Manon realized that her opponent wasn’t just some cosplayer who just got lucky in the tournament. It seemed as if he really did possess some level of skill after all. Quickly, she rolled forward to her feet and like a piston, she shot herself up to rise to her feet. Upon doing so, Manon then turned in a pirouette once more with her right-side facing Donatello. She brought her right leg up all the way as high as she could with the intent of hitting the Turtle’s chin. Donatello leaned back, but Manon swiftly brought her leg down, striking her heel onto the back of the brainy Turtle’s head.

“Nnngh!” Donatello grunted as he stumbled forward, now realizing he was vulnerable to attack.

The pink haired woman immediately thrust her left arm out, her palm open as she managed to plant it firmly onto the middle of Donatello’s face, forcing the Turtle’s head to jerk back. She turned with her weight, focusing it into the motion as she thrust her right arm out and landed another open palm onto Donatello’s face. Quickly, she reached out with her hands, taking hold of the Turtle’s wrists in her grasp. She pulled in the reptile close, as if she were getting ready to dance with him, before she turned and kicked her right leg up, sweeping at the Turtle’s ankles while turning in a pirouette once more and brought the Turtle up while releasing her grasp from him and caused him to drop onto his plastron as she successfully executed her Manege Dore technique.

“Leo, did you see that… It’s like she’s dancing out there!” Michelangelo spoke, raising his brow in a quizzical manner as he watched the match between the French Judoka and his sibling.

“Yeah, I see it. That’s probably what’s throwing Donatello off a bit.” Leonardo responded.

Manon tensed her legs and like a piston, she shot herself to a leap and soared towards Donatello as he was busy getting back up to his feet. When she flew in close, Manon kicked her left leg out while seemingly performing an aerial ballet split in mid-air. The Turtle widened his eyes and found himself getting struck firmly into his left cheek, and Manon quickly, while in mid-air, turned with her weight and she snapped her back leg out in a thrust kick—again striking Donatello directly into his cheek as she successfully landed her Degage kick. Upon landing feet onto the arena floor, Manon again spun to a split only to spin with her legs attempting to sweep across and strike at Donatello’s ankles. Donatello stumbled, and he firmly planted his staff to the ground to support himself as he fought to regain his footing but then suddenly found himself being caught by Manon’s hands by the wrist.

“Oh no you don’t!” Donatello yelled as he thrust his head forward, slamming his head directly into Manon’s forehead.

Manon briefly screamed as her head rang with disorienting pain, now losing her grip on Donatello’s wrist. The red masked reptile now spun his staff upward, striking the bottom end of his weapon up into Manon’s chin—causing her to arc up and stand on her toes from the force of the blow. Seizing the moment, he turned with his weight and swung his left leg across to the right as he performed a roundhouse kick, moving his foot for Manon’s mid-section. Manon gasped, saliva bursting from her mouth as she doubled from the wind being kicked from her yet again. Donatello moved his arms forward, thrusting his staff several times and firmly batted the end of his weapon hard into Manon’s mid-section, chest and shoulders. The pink haired French Judoka grunted and hissed with each time the staff contacted her, and she brought her arms up to defend herself as she huddled up. But Donatello added to the pressure as he brought both ends of the staff horizontally, striking them hard into Manon.

The Turtle spun his staff and gripped his weapon, only to bring it over Manon’s head and shoulders. He pulled her in towards himself and forced her to hunch only to thrust his left knee up directly into her head. Donatello would do this several more times, piling the punishment onto his opponent before he shoved her away. He wouldn’t let up however, as he quickly planted his weapon to the arena floor and then catapulted himself forward. He kicked his right leg out, firmly striking it hard onto Manon’s cheek.

Manon was sent flying across the arena. If Donatello had to guess how far she flew back, he probably would’ve had to at least say she maybe was sent back by twelve feet. He watched as the Judoka hit the ground flat on her left side. He spun his staff firmly in hand, and the Turtle now took off in a brief run before he pounced ahead with his arms raised over head, his staff gripped in hand only to bring it down upon his opponent.

“MANON, LOOK OUT!” Jamie shouted.

Hearing her teammate, Manon widened her eyes open and immediately noticed Donatello coming at her with that staff. Quickly, she threw her weight to her left and managed to evade the staff as the Turtle came down at her. A loud smack was heard as the metal staff slammed to the arena floor. Manon had looked over to Jamie, giving him a quick nod of appreciation of the warning before she returned her sights to Donatello.

With a mighty yell, the pink haired Judoka now set herself to her feet and rushed in at Donatello. Quickly, she thrust her right and left arm out in a series of four quick open palm strikes for Donatello’s face before she swiped her right arm across for his head once more. Donatello moved his staff, deflecting the incoming strikes as they moved in for him but when the swipe had come in for him, he hunched down to evade Manon’s strike. Manon immediately turned to a graceful spin to her right and reached out with her left arm only to grab at Donatello’s right arm. She continued with her motion, turning to the Turtle’s right while she positioned her left leg behind his right and kicked it up, causing the Turtle to lose his balance for a moment and leaving him immediately confused. Positioning herself to the Turtle’s left while spinning, Manon set her right leg behind Donatello’s left and let the motion do the work itself as she executed her Renverse throwing technique.

Donatello hit the arena floor flat onto his carapace, the wind being pushed from him for a moment as he had realized all too late what had happened.

“I hate fighting dancers.” He muttered to himself.

Manon now focused on the energy within herself, feeling it in the form of a powerful rush which coursed through her entire body. Grasping this energy, she focused on using it to enhance herself. To hit harder, to move faster. She stood on her left leg, up on her toes while she raised her right leg back and parted her arms as she assumed a ballet stance. Quickly, she pushed herself forward while hunching down with her right leg forward and her left leg back, her arms positioned to make her look as if she had wings. Her movement was swift, as behind her trailed a set of after images as she zeroed right on Donatello with the intent on landing her Arabasque technique.

Donatello placed his hands and feet to the ground, and he pushed himself with all his might. Quickly, he threw his weight forward and somersaulted over the French Judoka as she zoomed by underneath him. Donatello landed his feet onto the arena floor, and he quickly turned to meet his opponent. He swung his left arm across in a backfist motion, slamming the back of his hand firmly across Manon’s head.

Manon grunted as her head rang from the strike which Donatello delivered onto her, and she stumbled from the blow. The Turtle brought the back end of his staff upward, firmly striking it onto Manon’s chin before he then turned in a spin and thrust his staff forward, only to swing it across to the left and firmly collided it into Manon’s side. The blow was enough to make Manon shriek in pain, while Donatello pushed himself up and threw his weight to the left while spinning, performing a cartwheel kick and smacked both his heels across Manon’s face. The pink haired woman stumbled back from the kicks, briefly losing her footing as Donatello now zeroed right on her. He pushed himself up, bringing his left leg up in a rising front kick, but then pulled back and snapped his right leg up in the same fashion— performing a feigning jumping front kick. Manon felt a foot slamming into her chest, and she gasped again as the air had effectively been kicked from her lungs.

“YOU GOT THIS DONATELLO, FINISH IT!” Raphael shouted.

Donatello then once more turned to a spin, and he swung his staff down with all his strength focused on what he had set to be the final blow. But much to his surprise, Manon quickly dashed to her right and managed to evade the Turtle’s strike. Desperate to win this fight, Manon gathered up the energy inside of herself along with whatever remaining strength which she had left. She motioned to a turn as she stood on her left leg and raised her right leg up, touching her right hand while her arms were poised— assuming a ballet stance.

With blinding speed, she set herself down and reached out for Donatello’s wrist as she extended her right hand, now grabbing the Turtle before she raised her right leg up and swung it back, hitting the back of the Turtle’s leg to force it to move up and lose his balance. Suddenly, Manon pulled Donatello as she spun and threw him forward, releasing her hold on him and forced him to spin away from her before she zeroed in on him, and took hold of him once more in her arms, and lifted him up off from the ground as she suplex him, slamming him to the ground. The French Judoka, somehow, would throw Donatello around, ballet style, and seemingly made him do all sets of dance poses and ballet stances. All of this, before she took hold of Donatello by his hands once more and threw him to force the Turtle into a spin before throwing him into the air while still maintaining a hold on him. She quickly gripped both his wrist, before throwing her own weight forward and now somersaulted to the ground with Donatello in tow—effectively slamming the Ninja Turtle flat onto his plastron protected chest.

“OUUUCH! He’s gonna feel that in the morning!” Michelangelo winced.

Pain moved through Donatello’s body, and the Turtle now felt something else coursing through his body. Adrenaline had been released into his system, and the mutant Red Ear Slider now pushed himself to his feet, staggering as the pain that Manon put him through began to dull. Manon looked over to the Turtle, widening her eyes in shock and awe at how her opponent was still standing after all of that abuse.

“M-Mon dieu! H-How are you still capable of standing?!” Manon uttered.

Instead, Donatello offered no response. He quickly spun his staff in a figure eight, shifting the weapon over from right to left and rushed in towards his opponent. Manon quickly stepped back and raised her arms to protect herself as Donatello managed to strike the staff hard onto her, impacting her arms, her shoulders and her legs. Donatello then slammed the end of the staff onto the arena floor, only to now throw his weight forward and over to the left as he kicked both his feet out— now firmly striking Manon hard onto her face. The French Judoka shrieked in agony when pain rushed through her head. And without hesitation, Donatello raised his right arm up and threw his staff from his grasp, and watched as it struck Manon directly onto her forehead.

The pink haired Judoka dropped onto the ground like a set of bricks as Donatello’s metal electro-staff landed beside her. The intellectual Turtle stared down at his opponent for a moment, before he raised his sights and looked to the big screen monitors which showed the countdown as it began. When it finished, the arena horns blared, and the match was decided. Donatello had proven himself the victor of this fight.

“YEAH! I KNEW YOU COULD DO IT!” Raphael shouted gleefully as he pumped his fists.

Donatello stepped to his downed opponent, before reaching down to grab his staff. He turned and now made his way back over to his brothers. Michelangelo chuckled as he raised his left hand up and Donatello smirked, satisfied with his victory as he slapped his palm onto Michelangelo’s. Leonardo looked over to his intellectually gifted brother and gave a curt nod of approval of Donatello’s efforts. Raphael grinned at his brother and padded his shoulders.

“You kicked some serious ass out there. But… what was up with the ballet poses?” Raphael asked.

“You know, I have no explanation for that. She just had me in them and… Yeah, it’s a damn silly thing!” Donatello chuckled. “Last one up to bat, dude!”

The Turtles looked ahead of themselves now as they eyed the remaining member of the opposing team. Michelangelo, Leonardo, Donatello and Raphael looked at one another now. The hot-headed Turtle grinned in anticipation as it finally was his turn to have a go.

“About damn time!” Raphael smirked.

The red masked Turtle now stepped forth as did his opponent. The mutant Red Ear Slider and the Chinese fighter now stopped about four feet from another, now taking the time to size each other up. Jamie had to admit, he hadn’t expected his teammates to have such trouble with what he had thought were cosplayers in Turtle costumes. But their defeats didn’t dissuade him whatsoever. If he could take all of them, then it would most certainly add to his credibility as a fighter and maybe even get him a hell of a lot of likes and views on both Instagram and TikTok.

“I’m not gonna go down so easy like the others.” Jamie spoke out.

“Mhm. Right, junior.” Raphael responded.

“Your friends might have beaten the others, but this is as far as you go. There’s no way that a man in some Turtle cosplay is gonna beat me!” Jamie spoke as he thumbed to himself.

Raphael just shook his head before he turned his head to the left, looking over his shoulders to his brothers before he returned his attention over to the yellow clad Chinese fighter. He poked his tongue through his left cheek, before circling it around his mouth and poking it through his right cheek. Raphael clicked his tongue on the roof of his mouth, and he chuckled in amusement to Jamie’s confidence.

The red masked ninja took a moment to reminisce about his experience in this tournament. He had come across many unusually powerful and highly skilled opponents— even going as far as to carrying his own team against Team Fatal Fury when he had been the only remaining member in that fight. The reason why he and his brothers had entered this tournament was to test themselves, maybe even get some more experience to make them better ninja in the long run. And so far… they had been doing that with flying colors.

“You just keep telling yourself that, junior.” Raphael spoke, blinking with a dead panned expression on his face.

“There’s no way I’m going to accept being called junior by a man in Turtle cosplay!” Jamie scoffed.

Raphael simply shook his head from side to side, expressing his disapproval of his opponent’s cocky attitude. If anything, he was looking quite forward to beating the arrogance out of him. The red masked mutant Turtle now moved his hands down to his twin sai and drew them out, spinning them with skill and swiftness before he snapped himself back into his fighting stance. Jamie reached down and took hold of his drinking gourd, only to pop the top and he downed a swig of the beverage inside, and now felt a rush of energy moving through him. Much like Raphael, Jamie entered his own stance as he loosened himself as any Drunken Fist practitioner did.

The arena horns blared, and the match began.

Both Raphael and Jamie moved, circling around the arena as they continued to size one another up. Both immediately yelled out as they rushed in towards one another, both with the intent of winning this fight.

The next match in my Mirage TMNT storyline has been posted up and this is the one which I have been looking forward to the most, as it's one which happens to feature my favorite Turtle of the bunch. Anyway, it seems as if I had gotten whatever was causing to make my PC go haywire finally fixed and I decided to write up the next match while I was stress testing the machine, and wouldn't you know it, everything turned out to be okay.

Wrtiting up the recap between Donatello and Manon Legrand was something of a bit of a challenge because Manon's fighting style which is a mixture of Judo and Ballet was something... really hard to translate when putting it down in written format. While I did have a video to more or less reference her moves and even utilize their technique names, it was very hard to reflect her gracefulness in battle through text. None the less, I found that the video of her moveset proved to be beneficial in writing how she performed her techniques and how she might've been able to give Donatello a fight. But as it turned out, the brainy Turtle won and I even made sure to put him through the ringer a bit, but he came out on top as it is and I wanted to reflect that in the recap as well.

Now this match definitely was one which I could say was in the cards. If Leonardo took on someone like Luke, then it was without a question that Raphael would have to fight someone like Jamie Siu here. I've seen some videos of Jamie, and I wanted to get a bit of his personality reflected here in the dialogue where he and Raphael sort of have a verbal scuffle here and there, and wanted to get across that he was your typical social media junkie Gen Z'er. Also, I wanted to play up Jamie's cockiness a bit as we do see him being that way in some of the character interactions in Street Fighter 6, and it was quite interesting to see that would play with someone like Raphael. None the less, I do hope that this one fight is an interesting one for all to enjoy!

Remember-- ENVIRONMENT IS ALSO A FACTOR IN THIS BATTLE! Something I feel like people need to seriously consider.

For new readers who are just hopping onto this storyline here, I suggest you look at the Mirage TMNT Respect Thread to see what the Mirage Turtles are more than capable of.

Another great set-up and recap, Rakai.

Yep, that's Manon for ya, at least from what I've seen in vids. :D Donnie almost didn't know which way was up until he pulled it together near the end.

As for the match, yeah, Jamie in a lot of ways is probably at least as confusing to fight as Manon with his break dancing, drunken boxing-esque style. Something I've noticed is that almost every SF6-debuted character is good at cross-ups, including Kimberly and JP. Jamie's style may initially confuse Raphael, too, and may even piss him off, but the latter, as usual, may work to Raph's advantage in the long run. Aside from that, Raph is likely skilled enough to eventually come out on top.

Okay this one will be fun. Jamie is a different kind of drunken fist fighter than other fighting game drunken masters. I think Raph training with the out there Mikey will help him get a handle on this dude. And Jamie isn't experienced enough to fend off someone like Raphael when he's ticked.

Yeah, Jamie's take on Drunken style Kung-Fu is odd because the beverage which he takes... isn't even alcoholic whatsoever, but it's some kind of special brewed tea which gets him all loose and energized. Personally, I don't get the logic and I think Capcom's more or less lost their edge and balls over the years to where they won't even allow alcohol in their games from a narrative standpoint...

But yeah, Raphael's training with Michelangelo, even in the Mirage canon might be beneficial here to take on someone like Jamie.

I apologize about the delay in commenting Rakai, I was quite caught up last week in terms of my life's affairs. That being said, I did quite enjoy reading this write-up as it wasn't quite what I was expecting.

Donatello isn't the typical comedy "laugh riot" that his younger brother is, but here, I saw once more how he can be funny, if perhaps unintentionally, by circumstances rather than effort. Donnie doesn't rely on comedian typed efforts, but his life's affairs can be comical, in that he tends to be set as a more of a "slice-of-life" kind of guy. His life's affairs tend to be funny, whether he intends them to or not, versus Michelangelo who is funny more intentionally by comparison.

The fight was well crafted too, as both fighters have the "Don't judge a book by it's cover" mantra written deeply on both them and their fighting styles as a whole. Donnie is often pegged as a "brainy" but lacking street smarts kind of guy, while Manon is portrayed as whimsical and gracefully caught up in her blissful ballet style, but only enough so to ruse the unsuspecting opponent to let down their guard and not taking her fights with them seriously. In that, both have something in common that is not found by surface level comparison, a scenario building story piece that I wasn't considering when I first read it, but did come to greatly appreciate as i got further and further into it.

Donnie is learning too, and even though initially blindsided by Manon's style and performance here in this fight, is shown to devise ways to adapt too and face greater and more diverse challenges here, which I also like as it forces Donnie to grow and become a better and more diverse fighter as a result. All good things for each of the Turtles individually, but especially good for him here, as he has especially struggled in this tournament, more than any of the other Turtles have.

Like Donnie here, Raph is going to have to learn to diversify his combat regiment in regards to Jamie Siu's "Drunken Boxing" style, as it quite unorthodox and will be a stumbling block to many fighters at first. The good news here however, is that Raph can and has learned how to do just that from this tournament alone, something that leads me to believe that if he can find a way to be as equally unpredictable as Jamie's fighting techniques, he too can cause Jamie to slip up in the same way. In doing this, Raphael stands a pretty good chance a defeating Jamie handily in most circumstances.

Thanks for commenting, Z451!

Yeah, I had to write in how Donatello was going to cope with someone like Manon and her unusual fighting style. There's something of an element to whackiness and zaniness when it comes to certain characters in Street Fighter, and while I think dance is a good component in fighting since it can really help with footwork and motion, writing out something which was an infusion of ballet and Judo was... very challenging to come up with. And also, someone did want to see Donatello getting caught up in Manon's dance based techniques, so I had to look at some of her movesets and saw that there was indeed an element of comedy in them. So it naturally came out that way as being unintentionally funny, I suppose. As for Donatello and Manon as coming off as the "Don't judge a book by it's cover" types, well... I feel that out of all of the Mirage Turtles, Donatello has something of the weakest record as he has suffered more draw outcomes than the rest of his brothers, and he has the most passive weapon out of all the Turtles, where as the swords and sai that Leo and Raphael have are the most intimidating, and Michelangelo having the most unpredictable-- a Bo-staff doesn't necessarily have all that flare. And Manon, well... she's relatively new and I think her infusion of Ballet in Judo throws people off.

Also, thanks for the breakdown between Raphael and Jamie-- and you're definitely right in this instance, in that Raphael's fought so many opponents, that he's quickly learned to adapt to this kind of situation and... well, he's already now beaten Jamie.

I also want to mention that I might be taking a two week hiatus from my storyline... primarily because of Black Friday week hitting next week, and the store practically owns my ass through out the entire week. So I won't have time to write up anything and it will give me time to figure out who the next opponents are going to be or... if it's time for this storyline to go into a different path...
