Yashiro Nanakase pumped his left arm out four times, intending to strike his opponent dead on in the face and then followed up by swinging his right arm across for a devastating hook punch as he focused his weight into the movement of the punch. However, the red masked Turtle would lean and weave from side to side, remaining out of reach and evading the white haired man’s punches, but when the hook punch came for him, Yashiro hit nothing btu air as the mutant Turtle hunched down from the incoming blow. If anything, Yashiro had to admit that his opponent was fast for someone who he believed dressed like a Turtle. Oh, how oblivious to the truth Yashiro happened to be. Michelangelo retaliated by turning with his hips and he swung his right and left arm across, firmly striking the muscular and toned man directly into his mid-section, causing Yashiro to grunt out with each impact. Taking this opportunity, Michelangelo took aim directly for Yashiro’s forehead and he leaned forward with his weight and swung his left arm across, bending his elbow out and firmly struck his adversary dead on.

Yashiro grunted in immediate discomfort as he was forced to stumble. Shaking his head from the blow, the Hakkeshu member charged right in towards Michelangelo and snapped his right leg out in a rushing front kick. Michelangelo side-stepped to his left and he swung his right leg horizontally; slamming his foot directly into Yashiro’s toned mid-section, causing him to double over as he felt the impact moving into him. Seeing the opportunity, Michelangelo spun his nunchaku—exchanging handles between his fingers before he then would swing the tethered clubs downward as he took aim for Yashiro’s shoulders and then he would swing upwards, intending to strike the man directly in the chin with the weapons. Yashiro was forced upward, and Michelangelo rushed in after him as he stumbled back. Quickly, he ran in towards his enemy and rammed his right shoulder into Yashiro.

“UNGH!” Yashiro grunted, soon finding himself hitting a palm tree that was placed in the greenhouse.

The red masked Turtle then turned with his hips and he would swing his right and left arm across, firmly striking Yashiro hard across the face twice before he followed up by swinging his right arm in an uppercut. Yashiro’s chin was blasted by the Turtle’s knuckles and his head was forced to jerk back as the back of his head hit the trunk of the palm tree behind him. A rush of pain moved through his head, and a sense of embarrassment overwhelmed him but that would soon be replaced by new pain as Michelangelo turned and raised his left leg up and thrust it in a mighty side kick, firmly striking Yashiro in the mid-section and pushing the air from his lungs.

“GUUUGHH!”

Yashiro found himself being asphyxiated from the blows to his body which his opponent seemed to be putting on him and the punishment was piling on him. He dropped forward and hit the hard tiled floor of the greenhouse, and firmly planted his hands onto the ground and was gasping for air. Yashiro soon felt something new inside of him, something which could only be described as a flicker of fire. He grits his teeth as he allowed the flicker to erupt inside of him, now bursting to a furious flame. As Michelangelo snapped his left leg in a front kick—Yashiro quickly rose to his feet, and he crossed his arms, taking the kick directly into his forearms. Yashiro moved his arms and planted his hands onto Michelangelo’s shoulders, shoving him to make him lose his footing and the Turtle was forced to move back against his will. Focusing the energy inside of him and channeling it through his body to bolster his strength, Yashiro lunged forward as he directed the energy to flow through his right arm and directly to his fist. He swung it down, intending to smash Michelangelo overhead with his Regret Bash technique.

Michelangelo widened his eyes and he was forced to hop over to his right and padded feet first onto the ground and quickly moved to get around to Yashiro’s blindside. The Hakkeshu member turned to meet his opponent and charged, now stopping as he got in close and he fired off a mighty straight from his left arm as he took aim for Michelangelo’s head. The Turtle quickly pulled his head into his shell, allowing the fist to pass above him. But Yashiro instead leaned forward and rammed his left shoulder directly into the red masked Turtle. Michelangelo briefly lost his footing, and that was all that Yashiro needed as Michelangelo popped his head from his shell.

Yashiro again focused on the energy inside of him and felt it coursing through his entire being. He fed it directly to his muscles, only to now allow himself a boost in speed. Dashing right in towards the Turtle, for a brief moment it seemed as if Yashiro disappeared from sight only to appear in front of Michelangelo. Yashiro pumped his right arm out as he took aim for Michelangelo’s mid-section, impacting his knuckle directly into the reptile’s plastron protected stomach. Regardless, Michelangelo grunted as he felt the strength behind the blow of Yashiro’s Jet Counter technique.

Yashiro swung his left arm across and firmly impacted Michelangelo directly into his cheek causing the Turtle to stumble to the side, and he followed up by swinging his right arm across and again stuck Michelangelo. Yashiro followed up again by swinging his right leg down and across to the left, performing a low roundhouse kick which firmly struck Michelangelo across his left knee and the Turtle winced in discomfort. However, that discomfort would only be further added as the Hakkeshu quickly moved his left arm out and he took a hold of Michelangelo by the throat, applying pressure onto the Turtle’s neck only to turn in a quick spin and he would throw the mutant reptile forward, tossing the red masked Terrapin into a nearby flower bed.

“Damn! Damn!” Michelangelo hissed as he shook his head to fight the brief disorientation.

Yashiro didn’t hesitate as he ran towards the downed Turtle and quickly leapt to pounce. Michelangelo widened his eyes and he scrambled to his left, allowing Yashiro to slam feet first onto the flower bed. Twirling his nunchaku, Michelangelo then moved his left arm horizontally back across to the left and then moved it to the right as he took aim for Yashiro’s mid-section once more. His opponent crossed his arms out and took the blows directly in his forearms, but Michelangelo came at him as he then swung the nunchaku in his right hand vertically downward with tremendous speed and force as he intended to go for the top of Yashiro’s head. Impact was made, causing Yashiro to hunch and wince as there was a stinging pain moving through his head. Seizing the opportunity, Michelangelo gripped his nunchaku in his right hand firmly in both hands and slipped it over the back of Yashiro’s neck. Using his strength, the Turtle pulled the Hakkeshu member down and in towards him only to slam his right knee into Yashiro’s face several times. Michelangelo had no intention of treating this like a game.

The white haired Hakkeshu felt a blast of pain moving into his face, right where his nose happened to be and he shut his eyes in immediately discomfort and pain. He couldn’t help but ponder how this was allowed to happen… to him. He was the coolest member of the band, and here was this upstart… humiliating him. Yashiro roared out as he then forced himself upright, throwing his arms as he forced the Turtle to release him. The Hakkeshu jabbed his left arm out four times as he aimed for the Turtle’s head but Michelangelo weaved from side to side from each incoming strike, but Yashiro then swung his right arm across. The red masked Turtle hunched down and responded by turning in a spin to his left and he snapped his left leg up and out, performing a spinning back thrust kick as he took aim for his opponent’s mid-section once more. Yashiro crossed his arms out and took the kick head on before he responded by shifting forward and snapping his right leg out in a front kick and reeling it back to snap it across to the left in a roundhouse. Michelangelo slapped his right hand down, deflecting the first kick and raised his arm up, blocking the incoming roundhouse for his head and he shifted forward only to pump his left and right out. Yashiro moved his arms, slapping the incoming punches down before he charged in and swung from his right with a haymaker.

Michelangelo hunched down from the incoming haymaker only to then dive forward and curled himself into a ball, rolling onto the tiled floor before he positioned himself onto his feet and bolted to his full stature. Yashiro turned and clenched his hands into fists, now bouncing on his feet as he faced the mutant Turtle.

“HOW ARE YOU STRUGGLING WITH THIS RUNT?!” Yamazaki shouted in anger.

But he did have a point… How as Yashiro struggling with someone who he believed was someone decked out in a Turtle costume? The Hakkeshu turned his head to the left and spat a mixture of saliva and blood before wiping his mouth with the forearm on his right. Not once did he think that this would happen. For a moment, Yashiro was beginning to see why Shermie had a hard time with the other red masked Turtle.

The Hakkeshu then charged forward and he quickly swung his left arm across to the right, intending to go for Michelangelo’s head but the Turtle leaned away from the incoming blow and Yashiro turned with his weight to the left as he swung his right leg across in a turning spin, intending on striking Michelangelo across his plastron protected mid-section. The usually wily Turtle, now completely serious, shifted forward and he immediately swung his left arm horizontally with his forearm positioned vertically— effectively blocking the kick. Yashiro directed his energy to course through his being once more, and channeled it into his arms only to move in as he set his sights on Michelangelo’s chest. He thrust his left arm in a downward straight punch, before moving his right across in a hook punch and then followed in with another from his left, then aiming to deliver in an uppercut from his right fist for Michelangelo’s chin as he executed his Missile Might Bash technique.

The Turtle quickly hunched down, and worked to weave out of the way from the incoming punches. When the uppercut came, the red masked ninja then had tensed up his leg muscles only to then leap and throw his body weight backwards, effectively flipping away from the incoming strike. He kicked both his feet up, one after another as his left foot would strike directly into Yashiro’s chin and his right soon impacting afterwards. Yashiro’s head was forced to snap back from the two blows and he stumbled back, his lip feeling his upper teeth sinking into it and a small burst of crimson erupted from Yashiro’s flesh. Pain moved across his teeth and lower jaw, and Yashiro fell onto his rear clutching his mouth with his hands.

Seeing an opening, Michelangelo tucked his nunchaku back within his utility belt and using his skill in the art of sleight of hand, he drew set of four shurikens. Yashiro angrily slammed his hands to the ground and bolted to his feet and then ran in towards the mutant Red Ear Slider. Yashiro roared with fury, his face contorted with pure anger and hated as he drew closer and closer to Michelangelo.

The Turtle then took aim for Yashiro’s legs, and he flung his arms forward and out— now releasing the shurikens from his hands, and sent the spinning blades flying. Yashiro widened his eyes and he tensed up his leg muscles and then pushed himself up to a leap, successfully evading the throwing blades and landed feet onto the ground only to continue with his warpath to Michelangelo. Michelangelo moved his hands to his utility belt and took hold of his nunchaku once more, and readied himself as his opponent drew closer. Yashiro then once more directed his energy to flow through his arms and he channeled it to his hands once more— and he swung his left and right arm  upwards in three uppercuts, one after another as he set his aim for Michelangelo’s mid-section as he executed his Duel Upper technique. Michelangelo felt a strong impact slamming directly into his body twice, and then the final going for his chin, forcing himself to stumble back from the blow.

“YOU’RE DONE!! DO YOU HEAR ME?! DONE!” Yashiro shouted.

The Hakkeshu channeled more of his energy to course through his body and flowed it through his arms and into his hands. He pounced forward, his right arm raised and swung his fist down for the top of Michelangelo’s head—aiming to land in that Sledgehammer blow.

But the red masked Turtle raised his sights, and he quickly side-stepped to his opponent’s left. He twirled the nunchaku within his grasp, exchanging the handles between his fingers. Aiming for Yashiro’s back, Michelangelo swung the nunchaku in his right hand across to the left— firmly smacking the tethered weapon into Yashiro’s back. The Hakkeshu winced his eyes in a pain, grunting as he was forced to shift forward. Michelangelo then thrust his left leg up, slamming his left knee directly into Yashiro’s mid-section causing the man to lurch forward and gasp as he once more felt the air being pushed out from him.

“GET HIM, MIKEY! GET HIM!” Raphael shouted.

Michelangelo spun his nunchaku as he then swung his nunchaku diagonally down over from right to left, batting the weapons down onto Yashiro’s shoulders. Then he followed up by turning with his hips and he swung his nunchaku over across horizontally— slamming the chucks again into Yashiro’s ribs. The Hakkeshu grunted out and then felt something cracking, and he lurched forward as he wrapped his left arm around his mid-section. Michelangelo turned in a spin and he leapt, only to then swing his right leg across to the left in a spinning crescent kick, firmly impacting his foot firmly into Yashiro’s face.

Yashiro stumbled and lost his footing only to then drop into one the more narrow pools in the greenhouse. Water splashed and Yashiro soon found himself laying down in ankle deep levels of water. He firmly planted his hands down onto the ground and the white haired man slowly pushed himself to his feet. He refused to go down to this freak; he would not go down like this. He took in a breath of air and… a sudden stinging sensation ran through.

Yashiro coughed and placed his left hand over his mouth, now looking to his palm and widened his eyes. On his hand was a wet stain of crimson and he realized what the Turtle had done to him.

“You… You…. YOU!” Yashiro angrily muttered.

Michelangelo stood still, nunchaku firmly gripped in hand as he glared to the Hakkeshu member. He briefly turned his head to the left and looked over to his brothers for a second. He knew why he was fighting this battle like this, and he shot a glare to the Orochi team— Yashiro included. Raphael had been beaten to bad condition and while he was thankful that he was still alive, it was clear that these people reveled in the suffering of others—and in Michelangelo’s mind, that was something which wasn’t going to stand as far as he had a say in it.

The youngest sibling of the Turtles now dashed forward but then pounced forward as he then curled himself into a ball, and then threw his weight forward and down only to somersault right in towards Yashiro. Yashiro widened his eyes and he crossed his arms out in front of himself to block the weight of the Turtle’s impact. Michelangelo bounced off from the Hakkeshu member and then flipped down onto his feet. The white haired man stumbled back and he once more dropped onto his rear in the pool. Pain moved through Yashiro’s body and he was shuddering from the punishment which had been piled onto him like ten tons of bricks.

“W-What are you?! WHAT ARE YOU?!!” Yashiro shouted.

“Mikey can be scary when he has to be… Damn, who knew?” Donatello spoke.

Michelangelo ran as fast as he could and he zeroed right in on the Hakkeshu. Yashiro immediately leaned forward and snapped his right leg forward and out, fighting through the pain to release a front snap kick. Michelangelo slapped his left hand down and managed to deflect the incoming kick. Yashiro turned with his hips and he thrust his arms forward and out, trying to slam his fists into Michelangelo’s face, but the Turtle hunched and weaved from the incoming punches. Yashiro shifted with a step and he swung his left leg across to the right, executing a forward stepping crescent kick but Michelangelo leaned away from the incoming foot. Yashiro shifted forward with a step and he swung his left arm upwards for an uppercut for Michelangelo’s chin, but the red masked ninja then swung his left leg upward and impacted his knee directly into the Hakkeshu’s solar plexus.

Michelangelo moved around Yashiro and swung the nunchaku within his left hand to the right, now ensnaring it around Yashiro’s neck.  He then jumped and planted his feet onto the back of Yashiro’s neck only to keep the pressure around the Hakkeshu member’s throat.

“HE’S GOT HIM!” Leonardo exclaimed.

Yashiro moved his hands up, clutching at the chain around his throat as he felt himself going lightheaded. He dropped onto his knees and lurched forward as he was struggling to keep conscious. Michelangelo kept the pressure as he applied even more pressure. Yashiro dropped forward and firmly placed his hands onto the floor, and gasped for air which he was being denied. Seeing that his opponent had enough, Michelangelo released his hold and then thrust his right elbow down— slamming to the back of Yashiro’s head.

The Turtle stepped back twice and kept his glare on the Hakkeshu member. He silently began the countdown in his mind. Ten seconds… That was all he needed. Ten seconds.

Yashiro didn’t move nor did his eyes open.

Ten seconds had come to pass and the match was decided. Michelangelo stepped to the fallen Hakkeshu member and slipped his hands underneath his shoulders, and pulled him out from the narrow pool but then laid him on the tiled floor. Afterwards, Michelangelo stepped back, not daring to turn his back on the unconscious Hakkeshu fighter and then shot a glare to the remaining members of the opposing team.

“Well done, Michelangelo.” Leonardo nodded to his brother.

Donatello moved to Michelangelo and took a quick examination of Michelangelo. From what he was able to see, Michelangelo seemed to be mostly intact from the fight. Grinning to his usually wily brother and expressing his elation for his brother’s victory as he raised his right hand with his thumb up. Raphael looked over to his youngest brother and nodded to him with a sly but happy grin on his face. Michelangelo turned to look at his hot-headed brother and returned the gesture as he also gave a soft smile.

Yamazaki shot a glare down to the two fallen Hakkeshu, shaking his head from side to side. Shermie may have been eliminated but at least she had taken down the other Turtle in the process but Yashiro lost in such a manner which could only be called a crushing defeat. The blonde haired Yakuza member then looked down to the two fallen band members but he turned his glare to Yashiro and then kicked his right foot at Yashiro’s mid-section, taking his anger and his frustration out on him. Yashiro didn’t even so much as feel the blow, due to him being unconscious but none the less, it helped Yamazaki let out some steam. He turned and now looked over to the youngest member of the New Face band, and raised his left brow in a quizzical manner and grinned.

“You’re up, kiddo.” The Yakuza enforcer spoke.

The youngest member of the opposing team stepped forth and he had looked over to the four red masked ninjas, pondering on which ones he was going to be facing. Either he was going to be paired up against the Turtle with the nunchaku that just finished his match up, or he would be going up against one of the remaining two.

“You might be ahead of the game, but you shellback freaks are eventually going to come up short.” The young man spoke as he retained a seemingly innocent smile on his face.

Leonardo then turned to look over to Michelangelo and Donatello. Michelangelo took in a light breath of air through his nose and released a sigh from within as he was more than ready to fight once again but Donatello moved his left hand out and placed it onto Michelangelo’s chest and shook his head from side to side. He stepped forward, glaring at the younger Hakkeshu.

“No Mikey, I got this one… I gotta make up for the last match.” Donatello spoke out.

Michelangelo nodded his head in understanding. Leonardo then stared over to the intellectual Turtle, giving him a solemn nod as he reached out with his right hand and firmly planted it onto Donatello’s left shoulder. The genius Turtle now moved on ahead to the middle of the greenhouse and Chris now moved in towards his opponent. Chris simply grinned to Donatello, keeping that innocent smile which hid a sinister intent beneath. Donatello moved his hands together and bent them back, popping his knuckles before he rolled his shoulders forward and back to undo whatever stiffness he seemed to be feeling for a moment. He moved his right arm back and took hold of the metal staff and gripped the center of the weapon only to press the button on it. Soon, surges of electricity crackled along the ends of the staff and Donatello spun the weapon gracefully in his hands.

“So it’s looking like it’s our turn to fight! I didn’t think you weird freaks would be able to hold out but then again… Hah… those two were always holding the band back, you know?” Chris spoke.

“Honestly? I’ve had enough of you guys… So it’s about someone wiped that smile off your face.” Donatello coldly responded.

Chris turned with his left side facing the Turtle, shifting into his own fighting stance as Donatello once more spun his staff in hand and snapped back into his own fighting posture. The ends of the metal technological staff crackled with electricity. The red masked intellectual Turtle took in a breath of air through his nostrils and released a sigh, undoing whatever tension he seemed to be feeling before.

Inspired by Michelangelo’s courage, Donatello would take this match serious and fight to his hardest. He turned his eyes over to his brothers, staring upon Raphael, Michelangelo and Leonardo.

He had to come through for them… He just had to.

No more disappointments.

The next part of my Mirage TMNT storyline has finally been posted up and although it has been posted late, I think it actually might better that I actually posts on these matches during a latter time int he day as it hopefully might allow people time to vote as they finish up with other things in their lives. None the less, writing up the recap was both a challenge and yet I also knew what I wanted to put down, especially based on the comments and the votes as according to per last match up. Writing up Michelangelo vs. Yashiro was... interesting because I got to portray a side of Michelangelo that not a lot of people associate that character with. It's expected for Raphael and Leonardo to come off as stone cold ninjas but Michelangelo? Not so much since the first thing people see him as is the goofy, lovable, prankster that just likes to have fun-- while in the Mirage continuity, Michelangelo is pretty chill but he does have a side that knows when to get serious and in the early Mirage publications, he did have a temper that was just as bad as Raphael's, but he had something of a better grip on it. None the less, it was challenging to write Mikey that way.

And now we have Donatello going up against Chris from King of Fighters. To my surprise, no one has added the character into the database although they did add Shermie and Yashiro for the CYS band, but whoever added those two in-- completely forgot about Chris, so I had to add him into the database. This match up almost ended up being Leonardo vs Yamazaki, but then I figure... It wouldn't feel appropriate if Chris was to be the last opponent if the Turtles get that far, and it might even feel anti-climatic. So I felt like that this was the direction to go. I also feel like that this would be another redemption match for Donatello considering that he had tied with Chizuru Kagura, and probably feels that amongst the Turtles, despite him defeating opponents like Clark Still and Jubei Yagyu, Donatello's believing that he's fallen a bit behind and now he wants to make up for it. So to me... It was obvious that this had to be the next match up.

I also would like to state that CHRIS CANNOT BECOME OROCHI!!

Canonically, in KOF, for him to become Orochi requires a ritual blood sacrifice to awaken Orochi in him.

Remember-- ENVIRONMENT IS ALSO A FACTOR IN THIS BATTLE! Something I feel like people need to seriously consider.

For new readers who are just hopping onto this storyline here, I suggest you look at the Mirage TMNT Respect Thread to see what the Mirage Turtles are more than capable of.

--

Donatello (Mirage) is low tier superhuman in terms of physicals. Think Above Peak Human due to his mutation.

Donatello (Mirage) possesses a new Electro Bo-Staff, Electro Shurikens, Explosive Shurikens, Kunai and Modified Laser Equipped Roomba.

Chris is in Peak Conditioning due to his training.

Chris has his moveset from the KOF games.

Chris DOES NOT have access to his Orochi Chris form as that requires external awakening from Goenitz to access as dictated in KOF canon.

Mikey is a great fighter here, and I always appreciate him getting more opportunities to shine, as Leo and Raph tend to be the most popular turtles of the foursome, and in this write up a lot of his better traits are shown. He is persistent, he is tenacious, he is a Turtle who is optimistic about the world, but when pushed a certain way, he is also a dangerous foe, an opponent you would not want to  see. Mikey's dark side, can be down right scary, and that is why it is something most would perhaps try to avoid if they were able to, but the Orochi team, has already crossed that. It is exciting story telling, and I do find the increased intensity of the brawls, to be incredibly effective in conveying a deeper sense of excitement as well.

Chris is a pretty impressive fighter from what I can see from the KOF XV trailer alone, he is fast, can teleport, or rather translocate from one place to another, and is capable of launching some pretty impressive aerial and close ranged chest combat attacks. He is also the type, as gleaned from the SNK Wiki, to use a "mixup-pressure based fighting style", in order to play minds game with, or toy with his opponent in battle. These attributes are all impressive, and will give Donnie a hard time here, in winning this particular fight in the opening stages of this duel. However, Donnie is no slouch either in countering speed, as he has dodged bullets, attacks, and various other offensive maneuvers over the years, all with the intent to kill him, which somehow I don't see Chris possessing anyway. The ones he can't dodge, he has blocked, such as the attacks used by the Golem and the Triceratron leader, who each possesses strength that may even surpass Donnie's own.

In this match, I see Donnie coming up on top, by playing it smart, avoiding and blocking Chris' speed and attacks whenever he can, countering with heavy and powerful ones of his own, when the openings arrive, "keeping an eye on the ball", regarding Chris' translocation, and possibly even utilizing his mental training from Splinter, to locate Chris as the fight goes on.

Writing up Michelangelo's recap was a bit difficult but I wanted to really portray on what a serious Michelangelo would be like, which we have seen in a variety of TMNT media that exists out there and Last Ronin being the prominent one that's currently out there. If that version of Michelangelo is any indication on what Michelangelo could become if he ever decided to focus to his potential could be like, I feel like this depiction is what I needed to capture here. So I am quite glad that you particularly enjoyed that aspect of Michelangelo's recap battle against Yashiro.

That's a good potential break down of how this fight could turn out. Thanks for commenting!

I think Donatello would have to lean more to his superior physical strength to win this. I seems like the logical answer to all that Chris can do.

Possibly but remember... Donatello DOES have his gadgets.

Another great set-up, Rakai. The recap really showed how Mikey can handle himself when he gets serious, even against the fury that Yashiro can show.

As for the match, there may normally be a slight chance that Chris's outwardly-cheerful demeanor could throw a fair amount of fighters off their game a bit. After Team Orochi boldly announced that they are out to kill and watching Raph get hurt and a serious Mikey, though, I don't think this is going to work on Donatello. His skills and gadgets should likely be enough to take down Chris and his speedy attacks.

In fact, if Chris were to land/fall into one of the pools, it would be a perfect opportunity for Donnie to put his electric staff to good use (See? I remembered the terrain this time. :D).
