This one is definitely going to be tough here as both Ryu Hayabusa and Snake Eyes are definitely the best in their respective worlds as far as ninjas are concerned. But as far as I know about ninjas, they are definitely a stealthy bunch and this is where patience is definitely a virtue here. Contrary to popular culture, ninjas often get close to their targets by acting as a guard while in disguise or another role which is very important to the intended target. If anything... I can see both Ryu Hayabusa and Snake-Eyes taking down a Stormtrooper and stealing their armor, working to get in close to Tarkin...

Both can definitely pull it off... No question.

The question is... Who does it first?

That's the ten million dollar question, as both have a variety of ways of killing Tarkin... from direct assassination to possibly poisoning his food.

Hayabusa probably edges out based on his ninpo skills... So.... I'm gonna give it based to his superhuman abilities with a slight edge to him.

This is pretty damn tough and Hayabusa is my guy. He definitely has worked on some major infiltration missions between the DOA games and his own Ninja Gaiden series. I know Snake Eyes works with the Joes. But I think this slightly favors Ryu.

Sneaking into a high tech enemy base to eliminate a high value target is what Snake does and is regularly chosen to do in a organization full of highly qualified spies, commandoes, ninjas, and spec ops personal.

Also we should consider where this is playing out. I am not super familiar with Ninja Gaiden or it's associated games, but to the best of my knowledge Ryu has never operated in space. Where as the Joes do have space assets and allies. So Snake would not only have access to methods to get to and from the Death Star, but also experience in said environments.

I think we're gonna need to be careful how we evaluate Ryu in these challenges. A lot of his higher-end feats put him well above the required tier range for this slot.

I mean, I've only played the old NES games, and even then Ryu was taking out demons that threatened to overtake the Earth.

I'm kind of leaning Snake-Eyes, but there's a big hurdle with the character I'm having trouble getting over to make that vote.

A central part of Snake Eyes' character is that for one reason or another, he cannot, or will not, speak.  And I just don't see how you pull this off without speaking.  If you disguise yourself as a Stormtrooper or something as part of the mission, eventually you will have to talk to get through some of the security.

You might have to talk to droids. You might have to issue a command to a computer.

I want to like Snake-Eyes here, but being mute seems like a super disadvantage in the Death Star.

Snake has the skills to stealth his way through the Death Star with out the need for a disguise. He does this sort of the thing to ninja and cobra strong holds on the regular. Remember he's an 80s ninja with all the disappear in plain sight abilities that come with.

That said as a Stormtrooper he could probably get through most of it by nodding, saluting, hand signals etc or dress as maintenance tech/waste specialist and you're less likely to get bothered.

So he either straight up sneaks through the base or goes so as such a low level person or even droid that he is not bothered.
