What is a Truckler? That's the label I have under Regional Influence, but I have no clue what it means.

Does it mean I own everyone's trucks?

It's a shame your an island nation, because if you weren't, that would be really useful.

Umm I just noticed this, but why are there more countries on the map than there are people listed on the turn order list on the other NationStates thread?

I believe that there were four territories left unoccupied when registration was completed. A small stretch of land in the south, the spot along the edge of the southwestern portion of the map, and two spots in the center of all this mess. I expect to see the two later mentioned spaces will see the bulk of the fighting.

I couldn't really remove them from the land, now could I... But one thing I can do is write up what you will expect to find there...

Prelim: The northern empties will be sand and lots of it, the edge country that used to be named five, will be craggy/hilly grasslands, and the southern spit will be jungle/swamp.

There are no usable natural resources (That you know of) in these areas, they are meant to be as inhospitable as I can make them given their location in the region.

That's pretty much it for them right now, and it covers the need to know info. Though if you have any more questions just ask.

Yeah, not quite what I meant.

I was asking, for example, why countries like "The Fiefdom of Magnushellhound" are found on the map but not on the turn list.

Ok, I see now.

1) The list only goes up to 8 players because only 8 have finished their Profiles so far. They have until Treacherous is done to complete them or else something bad will happen.

2) The Code Box can scroll down, but only after the 8 listed in the previous list does it go all guessy as to who goes where. Everyone who wanted to get in has their budgets listed.

I thought Treacherous was out?

Treacherous is out temporarily to allow him to deal with his flood problems. But his country still exists, and I believe that things are covered. Still, he's 8th on the list and we've only really gone through about 3 people...

***UPDATE***

The game is currently running.

If the turn order reaches past the people that have completed their profiles and goes to the people that have yet to complete their profiles... then there will be Dire Consequences.

Complete your Profiles...

Quick question: What percentage of my other funds other than military/defense (Law & Order, Education, etc.) are we able to funnel into developing our armies?

Religion might be able to be used if your a Holy Land of sorts and want to play the Jihad Card.

Commerce might be able to be used to buy Mercenaries...

These might over complicate the game though...

Nations Name: Skiralos

Nations Leader: Za'Vizard (Assumed alias, True name never given to his subjects)

http://www.sunsetrpg.com/economystatistics...nation=skiralos

Geography

Number of Provinces

Skiralos has Three Provence, one per Island, and they are connected with a single Major Highway that uses Two massive Bridges to connect them together.

Climate / Terrain

Skiralos benefits from a natural warm wind and steady rainfall giving it the climate and appearance of Brazil. Major development though has cut the Jungles back to a manageable level, these new open areas are covered in large Cattle Farmlands. It's three Large cities dominate a major part of the landscape, with the smaller central island being completely covered in cityscape.

Natural Resources

Skiralos benefits from a large supply of offshore oil reserves, but much of this resource has been left untapped until newer technologies are developed to provide a safer means of recovering the resource. Next is the Hardwood gathered and stockpiled from the clear cutting done during developmental expansion of the Nation. Lastly there is a small amount of Copper, Nickel and Uranium found and actively mined in the country.

Natural Hazards

Owing to the Hot and very Humid climate, Skiralos has a problem with Malaria and a sizable population of large and very persistent Mosquitoes which spreads this disease. Another problem is due to the fact that as an Island Nation, Skiralos feels the Full wrath of whatever weather is kicked up off of the ocean around it, this can lead to Flash Monsoon Rains and Gail Force Winds.

Military

% of Pop in Military

Skiralos has a Military strength of 7% of it's populations, which would be at time of writing 19,390,000 personnel.

Typical Infantry Squad Equipment for a 10 man squad

- 6 FN FAL type Battle Rifles

- 3 TDI Vector type SMGs with Pistols,

- 1 Heavy Machinegun or Missile Launcher or Sniper Rifle or Grenade Launcher all with Pistol

- All armoured with 2mm thick ballistics grade steel breastplates and thigh guards with small embedded plates of Ceramic, with thickly layered Kevlar under padding.

- Each man is equipped with 1 Frag, but the SMG troopers have 2 Frags and 2 Incendiaries.

- One Rifle Trooper is equipped with a satchel charge.

Common front line Tank

50 ton Medium-Heavy Tank. It is armed with a 90mm Cannon, two Heavy Machinegun side sponsons and a pintle mounted Heavy Machinegun. It is equipped with 3rd Generation composite armour which incorporates high-hardness steel, tungsten and plastic filler with ceramic components. It can reach speeds of 60 km/h on road conditions. It is designed with a thicker slab of front and top armour as it was designed primarily to attack and defend head on in Urban environments.

Common front line Aircraft

Combat Gyrocopter, the Gnat with rear facing propeller. The Gnat is armed with two twin-linked 20mm auto-cannons and has room to carry at least two AAMs, with a preference of Heat Seeking types. The Gnat can reach maximum combat speeds of 245 km/h and due to it's Auto-gyro design has extremely good maneuverability, being able to turn on a dime and preform tricks effortlessly with little training needed. A special characteristic to it is that crashes are fairly rare unless the craft has sustained significant damage, with some Gnats even outliving their pilots.

Common front line Naval Craft

Large armoured Zeppelins dominate the Skiralosian Navy. Rather than risk loosing ships to storms, enemy mines and torpedoes the Skiralosians opted instead to take the Navy to the skies. Two models of Zeppelins dominate the Skiralosian navy, one fills the roll of an Attack and Defense craft, which incorporates significant compartmentalization of it's inner structure, and thick slabs of lightweight Ballistics grade aramid plating. These Skynaughts are usually equipped with several undercarriage mounted cannons, and a battery of Modular Missile systems, which can easily change it from a Air to Surface bomber to an Air Supremacy battleship within hours of docking.

40 x CBU-87 Combined Effects Munition

Armour:	0.50 in Thick Rigid Aramid Panels Interior and Exterior Compartment Walls,
Complete with Self Sealing Resin Pockets

The Second type is least common and is never seen without an Escort Skynaught or two. It is the Skycarrier and throws out thick armour and all weapons except for a handfull of CIWS cannons in order to carry as many Gnats as possible. In battle the Skycarrier can usually disgorge it's 100 Gnats in under a minute due to them being under slung across it's belly and sponson launch bays. When returning, the Gnats are expected to land on the short runways that litter the top and either be re-equipped and immediately launched or lowered back into place by one of the six on board cranes.

10 x 20mm M61 Vulcan Gatling Auto-Cannon CIWS Turrets

Armour:	0.2 in Thick Rigid Aramid Panels Interior and Exterior Compartment Walls,
Complete with Self Sealing Resin Pockets

A the fact that these Craft can choose to turn off their engines during flight give them increased defense against Heat Seeking Missile systems like the Sidewinder Missile, however radar guided missiles have to be dealt with in the usual way of Jamming and Chaff. The Skiralosian Navy is currently developing a Stealth Zeppelin to fill the roll of a Dedicated Electronic Countermeasure Airship, but no examples of this type have been sighted to date.

The Issue

All of Opaloco has been in an uproar since yesterday when a car exploded in the middle of the capital city, killing dozens and injuring hundreds. This terrorist act was traced back to a violent minority group known as the Lilliputian Freedom Fighters. A group allegedly supported by an unfriendly regime, despising Opaloco for its heathenish ways and political bent, but more particularly for supporting the recent occupation of their homeland by an ally.

all right, who did this?

Muahahaha!!

Seriously, since Mother Nature took out the puppet master I've got about a month or so before I can get back into my home. So, don't expect me to do any serious RPing anytime soon. Sorry, you guys lost your main villain. I don't know what happened to my allies either. They've all disappeared.

OK, I've waited long enough, gave fair warning to those tardy...

Second Turn is Up and Running, those who didn't want to play can no longer play.

You can appeal this decision on a PM basis but this is how it stands right now.

Players

Ruinus - The Empire of Allied Intelligences

TheJ0ke - TheJ0ke

MarvelFan15 - The Kingdom Of Cruciamentum

He who fights monsters - The Federation of Erisus

Opalord - The Republic of Opaloco

Jaeger Panzer - The Armed Republic of Jaeger Panzer

Nova Force Nova - The Federation of Nova Force Nova

Treacherous - The Kingdom of Treacherous

+ His Current Satellite States

Marvel Man - The Holy Empire of -Marvel-

(I really Expect More though...)

Treacherous has had a Leap Turn due to problems with flooding, all of his money for this turn is therefore carried over to his next turn.

Marvel Man has Kinda completed his Profile... and I have been Expecting More for a while now. He may stay in the RP, but if he doesn't finish his profile and take his turn he will not see Round 3. Unlike Treacherous though, I aware of any RL Problems and he will not get his money carried over.

Members of your intelligence service have captured a spy gathering information in the civil service. Your interrogators have learned that the man known only as 'Solo' is acting on behalf of the government of Outer Bigtopia, which denies all knowledge and involvement.

The Debate

*insert other options here*

"But what if he discovered the plans I've been assembling for the moon cannon project?!" asks Brigadier Chastity Jong-Il, one of your more insane military officers in a hushed whisper. "It's nothing official, something I've been doing in my spare time... but what if they've got wind of it?! We could all be in mortal danger! We've got to commence construction right now! Our esteemed leader, do I have permission to get Project Lunar Apocalypse underway?"

Definitely that option.

The Question of how Jets and other Air Power has come up... I though about it and bounced some ideas around and have decided on this:

Fixed Wing Aircraft or Jets/Planes/etc.

Move: 4 spaces, they must end their turn in Friendly territory or else they are destroyed.

Attack: When fly over a combat zone you may designate them as your Air Support, they may only be used this way in only One Battle per unit though.

Defense: When the area that they are in comes under attack, they suffer as they don't want Blue on Blue fire. As well, they would have to scramble under hostile conditions, with runways that may be blasted or targeted by AA fire. Basically they take a 1/2 strength modifier on the defense.

Air Attack

JetAttack.jpg

Helecopters/VTOL craft

Move: Regular 2 spaces

Attack: They may assist with 1/3 strength One Battle per unit in any surrounding area that has a Battle. And may Airlift a similar level of strength in Infantry to those areas as if the Infantry were moved there in the controlling players turn.

Defend: As normal

VTOL in Red can act as though they had 1/3 of their power in any of the green territories. But this can only be used in battle, and only for One Battle per unit of VTOL

Alright, I can finally get started on my aircraft movements.

PS Do neutral territories (unclaimed area or nonparticipating country) count as "friendly" areas to land jets?

PPS I like the diagrams.

Yes you can

PS: No they don't as your troops would still have to go in and secure airports/runways/etc. before your jets can land there.

Wait so if I have troops in that territory and no ongoing battles they can land there?

Illegal File-Sharing Flares

The Issue

A surprise raid conducted on ISPs over the last week in TheJ0ke shows that more than 30% of all Internet data transfer in TheJ0ke at one time or another is used by illegal file-shares to illegally distribute files, most notably songs.

The Debate

"What we need to do is hack their computers and format their hard drives," says Falala Fellow, recording industry representative. "People need to be taught to not mess with the law. This is theft, pure and simple. And they're not only halving our revenue to tune of billions of J0kes, but you are also stealing a few hundredths of a J0ke from the artist for every song they steal. THINK OF THE STARVING ARTISTS!"

"Yo, dude, like, don't be hatin' man," says teenager Violet Washington. "We're like, going to change the whole structure of our society. Everything should be like, publicly available to, like, everybody, dude. Copyrights are so, like, uncool man and we need to get rid of them. That'd be totally radical, and cool as well."

"Yo, dang, blizzity blang, yo, this ain't, right, yo," says Zeke Barry, famous rapper with three platinum albums. "Dang, yo, we dang need to copy-protect my dang CDs, yo. That dang playability life dang decreases, yo, but it's the only way to stop this, dang, yo."

Those last two options are just so amazingly stereotypical!
