Yeah I think most only engage in debate for their own characters. Others have definitely checked out with their team so far behind.

I'm a little surprised I made it into the top 4. Most of my picks were just characters that I liked and I have three or four people who are mostly dead weight if they get put into a match. I think I got pretty lucky

Right there with you. A lot of my picks were already taken so I just tried to think of characters who I liked or who sort of fitted the description. Never expected to get beyond the middle of the pack so have just been enjoying the debates.
