RakaiThwei
I am going to give this to Apollo Creed with a slight edge here, based on the fact that he had taken on Rocky Balboa as a protege,-- who during his run as Heavyweight Champion prior to fighting Clubber Lang, tended to fight under the style which Micky Goldmill taught him and was fighting handpicked fighters. Balboa got stagnant because of this, and that's why he lost to Clubber Lang. It wasn't until Apollo Creed took him, and showed him how to REALLY box with refinement and technique, while also improving Balboa's seemingly almost non-existent footwork to where Balboa actually developed speed and footwork. Mr. Miyagi did the prompt basically to a T in the Karate Kid though. He took a kid who was pretty much a talentless screw-up and trained him better than people who had been training in martial arts for years. That's literally the prompt. Apollo only trained someone who already had incredibly good fundamentals and just needed help with the specifics of boxing. Miyagi effectively already did the prompt, Apollo really hasn't, so Miyagi should win

Funnily enough, I think Rocky would fare better due to the Creed movies giving him credence to being a nice teacher.
Mercenaryblade
Yeah that was the storyline for Karate Kid... so Miyagi all the way.
RiotGear
Not only is this the plot for Karate Kid, but you could argue that Miyagi is still doing this posthumously in Cobra Kai as his methods and practices are still yielding similar results. Twogunkid
There are group dynamics to consider. Apollo trains a whole gym of athletes. Miyagi trains one kid. Apollo is better suited to handle multiple members of a team.
RiotGear
That would depend on how you interpret the scenario. It doesn't say train a team it says train people. Contextually that could mean together, one at a time, etc. Miyagi did train more people then Daniel as well. He trained people while he was in the service he trained Julie in The Next Karate Kid and according to Cobra Kai he not only continued to train Daniel, but also his children. JohnnyChany
Count me as another one who immediately thought of the plot of the Karate Kid when reading the scenario.
