CBUB Fantasy Draft Season One Slots

Hey all

Here's the slots for Season One.

You get to choose seven characters (Five active at all times, two on the bench at all times - switch them during the season at will).

Since this is the first season we are going to make this really simple and leave the wacky slot criteria for future seasons.

All seven characters you choose will have the same criteria in Season One.  And here it is:

Each character on the team must be a "Street Level" hero or villain from the Comic Book, Anime, Sci-Fi, Video Game or Fantasy genres.  No "Cosmic Level" characters.

When we say Street Level, we mean that the character is usually portrayed as fighting battles at the human "Earthly" level and are not the type which destroy planets (or flatten major cities for that matter) with a wave of their hand.

Some Trivial Examples:

Comics: Batman, Iron Man, Spider Man, Wonder Woman, Snake Eyes, Green Arrow, Wolverine ... etc.

Sci-Fi: Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Predator, A Power Ranger ... etc.

Fantasy: Legolas, Conan, Xena Warrior Princess, Harry Potter... etc.

Anime: Hell, I don't know.  Anime characters to me are weird in that sometimes they seem "street level" but then they turn around and flatten a city.  If you pick Anime, know the character.

Video Game:  Probably your typical Steet Fighter / Mortal Kombat types but whatever.  Sonic the Hedgehog and such might be fair game.

Once a character is drafted by a player for a team, no other player may select that character (unless the player removes said character from their team during the open draft).  So it's first come, first serve when the Draft opens probably this coming Sunday.

In the meantime, you can be thinking about what characters you want to get in and draft for your seven person team.

THE SLOTS:

SLOT ONE: Specialist: hand to hand combat, martial artist or melee weapon master

SLOT TWO: Specialist: Marksman, Archer or other Projectile or Energy gun-type weapon master

SLOT THREE: General physical or weapon based melee type character - any

SLOT FOUR: General physical or weapon based melee type character - any

SLOT FIVE: General ranged energy, magic or technology based character -any

SLOT SIX: General ranged energy, magic or technology based character -any

SLOT SEVEN: General mental powers based character -any

Thanks!

Sounds cool. Street level holds a lot of potential ideas so now all we have to do is wait til Sunday rolls along,

I don't think Wonder Woman would be considered street level. Iron Man also depending on the armor. Especially Batman...... since he's Batman of course :P

How does the draft work?  Is it similar to fanatsy football?  Each person gets a turn and then go in the reverse order for the second round or just pick 7 and if you get them first there yours?

Also, are we allowed to know the slot types before the draft?

Im still a little confused on the limits.  You said street level chracters but listed Iron Man and Wonder Woman in that category.

What is the parameters you want set for characters used?

Also, where do we sign up for the draft?

Wait, so our characters can only be from those 5 categories and we have to have a character for each of the slot descriptions? How do the categories come into play since we have 5 of them and we have 7 characters spots. Do five charcters (any slot) have to be so one of them is from each category and then the rest are from any of the 5 categories?

Ironman is street level though a very high one these days and Wonder Woman can't destroy the Earth or City so easily like a Goku for example. The slots describe perfectly the type of characters you can pick.

I think when you see the web interface where you draft your team it is all going to make sense.

I will be releasing the interface today or tomorrow.

Anybody can participate.  All they have to do is click into the web interface during the open draft period (say 10 days) and build a team.

Thanks!

Actually, he didn't just say "street level", he also gave a definition of what exactly he meant.

Grrr, it didn't save my team name. Can somebody let me go back and change that?

Hmm... apparently, my Control Panel has received a few upgrades today. I think I can take a look at that.

Team set. Some of my other choices were snagged but I did have some backups which were left open to use, Hopefully they'll be good to the task.

Well, I don't see any way to change fantasy team names from my CP. Maybe Fox can look into this.
