Rough pull for Buddy. He's not gonna be good at scaring anyone. Even tougher because the Thing can assimilate people pretty much perfectly. If the Christmas opponent had more of a chance we could argue that the Thing's insatiable desire to spread undermines its Holiday cheer, but that possible technicality wouldn't help Buddy. He's too sweet and happy

Funny thing about this is I think I'm finally going to watch Elf in the next few days.  

From what I've seen of Buddy in trailers and whatnot over the years, though, he strikes me as too goofy and wholesome to do the whole "deceiving and eating people and pets" bit. That and I don't think he can assimilate others. 

Man, the Thing looks to be a pretty tough draw in this slot.
