Culwych1
Introduction When the aliens arrived, they brought a storm of terror and fury unlike anything humanity had ever known. They descended from the stars like a dark force of nature, with powers that twisted our reality into nightmares. Lightspeed drones that could morph and shape at will tore through the skies, beings of pure thought bent men’s minds into madness, and godlike creatures who strode among us, bending the very laws of existence as if they were nothing. We fought back, clinging to survival by any means, yet it was as if our struggles only amused them. Then, one day, they offered something else—entertainment. They gathered 32 of humanity’s most iconic, most ruthless, and most fearless warriors, and pitted them against each other in a tournament of blood and spectacle. A brutal, twisted arena filled with shifting worlds and deadly obstacles, all for their alien amusement. Our survival, they promised, hung on the prowess of these chosen champions. And as the blood flowed, they laughed—and we were forced to laugh with them, sharing the twisted joy of our alien masters as heroes clashed and legends died. Was this our chance at redemption, or just another twist in their sadistic game? Nobody knew. Only the alien minds behind the Apex Arena understood this grim spectacle, and they beamed it directly into the minds of every remaining human, a relentless vision of battle, fear, and death. And so, the Apex Arena shifted once more, conjuring a fresh, warped location, bringing the victors of previous fights face-to-face for another brutal clash. A new battleground formed, bloody and unforgiving, as the arena’s cruel magic worked itself upon Earth’s warriors once again. ----------------- Apex Arena - Battle C5: Luke Hobbs vs Robert McCall The Apex Arena shifted again, unleashing its twisted imagination upon Earth’s minds, casting the two battle winners into an environment both deceptively familiar and treacherously alien. This time, the battleground revealed itself to be a flooded suburban neighbourhood—a ghostly remnant of what had once been a peaceful community, now submerged and decayed. Dark, oily waters filled the streets, reaching as high as the windows on some houses, while the air was thick with a chemical haze. The remnants of cars and abandoned furniture floated like corpses in the water, bumping softly against each other with the faint current. Above, grey, swirling clouds loomed, promising something deadly. This was no ordinary storm—acid rain would periodically pour down, hissing as it struck any exposed surface, corroding metal, stone, and flesh alike. Luke Hobbs materialized near what used to be a garden fence, now half-submerged and covered in toxic algae. He sized up the environment, noting the high water and the scattered, floating debris. The acid stench clung to the air, and he could feel it prickling his skin even before the rain began. He grunted, his instincts immediately on high alert. He’d faced environmental hazards before, but this one was unforgiving, and the rain, with its promise of searing pain, would force him to stay on the move or find shelter constantly. On the far end of the submerged street, Robert McCall appeared, his eyes cool and calculating as he took in his surroundings. His face gave nothing away, but his mind was already working, assessing every building and every piece of floating wreckage as potential tools. Acid rain, toxic water, a maze of flooded homes—this was a nightmare. But he thrived in calculated chaos. Nearby, he noticed a Refractor Cloak floating on the surface, the reflective material glinting faintly in the murky light. Its technology would render him nearly invisible for short periods, a potentially invaluable asset. Hobbs spotted his own Refractor Cloak floating beside a cracked garage door, half-sunk in the fetid water. He grabbed it, testing the device briefly before securing it. The cloak would allow him to blend into his surroundings, giving him a chance to catch McCall off guard. Scattered everywhere in this broken down environment were the remnants of weapons, aging but not broken. Guns and knives from a tough time in humanity’s past, but ready now to be used by the two fighters as they made their way towards each other. But they weren’t alone. Scattered throughout the neighbourhood were Acid-Spitting Fungus —alien flora that had taken root in the toxic landscape. The spores clung to submerged furniture, hanging from rafters, and nestled in cracks on walls. Their slimy, bulbous forms pulsated faintly, waiting to unleash their payload. Any sudden movement near them would trigger an acidic spray, filling the air with a blinding, burning mist that could quickly turn the tide of the battle. Hobbs moved carefully, his boots creating ripples in the water, his massive frame silent yet coiled for action. He knew McCall was out there, somewhere in this decaying maze. His fingers flexed, tightening around the Refractor Cloak’s activation switch. Just one hit, and he’d disappear from sight, buying himself valuable time to close the distance. McCall, meanwhile, slipped through the shadowed edges of the nearest submerged house, weaving between shattered furniture and floating debris. His gaze swept across every corner, every possible hiding spot. He’d spotted Hobbs briefly, a hulking silhouette against the faint light filtering through the clouds. With a slight press on his cloak’s control, McCall melted into the gloom, his form flickering from sight as he made his way closer. A drop of acid rain sizzled as it struck the water nearby, the clouds above growing darker, heavier. Both men knew the rain would soon pour down, and they’d have little time before the entire area became a burning, uninhabitable wasteland. It was a race against time, the acid-spitting spores, and each other. The Arena was set: a drowned suburb soaked in acid, two Refractor Cloaks, and deadly spores lying in wait. Macklemore
Hobbs is too powerful physically for any of the remaining action heroes to take him on. He's my call for winner of the whole tournament.
RiotGear
If Hobbs was just a tank, The Equalizer could probably pull a win, but Hobbs isn't just a giant brute. He is fast and skilled. On top of being ridiculously strong and tough.
Pizza Guy
Hobbs is a literal super soldier. He scales closer to Captain America then McCall.
