Battle in Manhattan

Nova easily spotted the bright white clad individual tailing him in broad daylight in his peripheral vision. He stopped his pursuit of the skiff for the moment, turning to face the other. He had stopped and moved into a firing position, a tiny dart emanating from his gauntlet. Nova simply blasted the thing into oblivion before sending another, larger blast, intending to destroy the portion of the rooftop he was standing on. Once fired, Nova used that as a distraction, speeding off quickly after that hijacked skiff, catching up relatively fast. Once in range, he unleashed a torrent of energy beams.

Moon Knight quickly grappled to another rooftop as Nova fired the blast.

 

"Yeah, that didn't work." he stated.

He spoke into the mic once again:

 

"Fury, Nova has turned hostile and is currently in pursuit of our hijacked aircraft. I've got tranquilizers, I'll see if they have any effect."

 

Fury gave out a very audible sigh over the mic. "Him too? Dammit Loki. At least we know how to deal with this. Team, you have to neutralize Nova with cognitive re-calibration. The long and short of it, hit him in the head real hard. That should fix him up...relatively speaking." he replies.

As Nova closed in on the captured skiff and opened fire, Carlos jumped towards one of the nearby buildings, unleashing an optic blast back over his shoulder towards Nova while in the air.

When Nova fired a blast at Punisher he had been helping a civilian get to safety when the Civilian shouted at Punisher as a energy blast soared toward him.

 

Civilian: Mr.Punisher look out!

 

Punisher turned around with seconds to spare as he jumped over the hood of a car as he rolled on the ground and took cover on the ground holding his head as the blast hit the car causing it to explode. The car was blown to bits as small pieces flew everywhere. Punisher got up as he had dust and scraps all over him as with some cuts as he went to press his ear piece to speak to Nova when Fury interrupted him. After hearing what Fury said Punisher ran toward the others angry and pressed his ear piece.

 

Punisher: Alright folks you heard Fury. We gotta knock some sense back into Nova. Everyone focus your attacks on Nova. If we got any heavy hitters go straight for Nova. Wolverine find someone near you who has the strength and get a fastball special. Come one people we gotta get this right. Nova is a powerhouse who we don't want under Loki's control for too long.

 

Punisher with that ran toward a Chitauri flying on its crusier or whatever the hell it's small air vechi was called above him through the air as he needed to get a better height to aim for Nova. Punisher jumped as by luck he grabbed a hold of the cruiser as it flew higher in the sky. Chitauri still not paying didn't notice as Punisher shot him in the back of the head with his hand gun as it fell off the flying cruiser. Punisher took control of the cruiser as he flew it through the air as he chased after Nova who was going after the aircraft. Punisher not far from Nova who was blazing through the sky pulled out a his SMG and fired a couple of rounds at Nova's head hoping to get Nova's attention.

 

" Come on you son of a bitch focus on me."

 

Punisher muttered to himself.

Nova saw the blast coming in, decides to roll to the left in an effort to dodge the blow. He avoids it, narrowly but Castle is not so lucky. The blast impacted his cruiser. However, his bullets did succeed in their mission, distracting Nova as he looked for the source. He saw Castle, who Nova fired at yet again, before returning his attention to one jumping in mid air. Timing his attack, he flew forward at the moment he felt Carlos would land on the building, attempting to tackle him through the wall.

Boris was comfortably busy taking out the skiffs and ground troops alike. Blasting one here, crushing one there, destruction everywhere. Titanium Man hears the call that Nova became brainwashed and was attacking the others. He didn't really care so much for the others, after all, Death and War are synonymous. He was more interested in the fact of possibly going toe to toe with the space officer.

 

So he quickly follows the path of destruction that only Nova can make. Nearly going his top speed through the derbies and the dead Cheituri, before noticing that Tarantula was about was about to get speared.

 

He gives a hearty russian laugh as he charges a shot from his hand, while he tires to make it in time to smash Nova with a full-body flying lariat.

Pre Nova corruption

 

Bullseye calmly walked into the elevator as he heard the varois comm chatters. he calmly whistles to himself, reloading the tw rounds he spent in the rifle as he hears that Castle is getting very confident.

 

"Careful Frank, you know what they say....the pride before the fa-" he starts to say when Nova's blast decimates that floor of Stark tower. The elevator was luckily halfway up the floor when this happened but the shockwave of the attack made its way through the door and pressed Bullseye against the wall. The elevator was damaged but was at least still moving.

He regained consious by the time the rest of the team was busy trying to subdue Nova. He was a good six floors up from earlier.

 

"Ugh, the hell did that?" Bullseye grunts to himself as he sees the elevator stalled. "*vulgarity*." he grunts before picking himself up. He quickly opens the above shaft and climbs out. He considers comming in, but instead he realigns the thing to try and pick up some chatter. As he listened in, he forced open the door to the next floor and tried to get another sniper survey and re-orient himself, hoping to see some more skiffs to kill, or better yet whoever nearly blew him up to hell.

Nova was nearly there, smirking in anticipation of the moment his attack would be successful, before being attacked from behind. Unable to slow his or his opponent's momentum, the pair smashed through the wall at near top speed. Crushing a few objects in their wake, the two buckled and bounced on impact, before finally stopping near the other side of the building. Nova, adrenaline pumping though him like there was no tomorrow, quickly jumped up and started flying towards his opponent, his fist eager to smash through that metal armor protecting his opponent.

Kraven ignored the comment from Spiral as he went to work, slipping into the building where he had previously saw Chitauri and Civilians alike... the aliens strolled round the captured innocents from a higher elevation, one or two chattering in bizarre, unintelligible speech to one another. Kraven knelt momentarily as he watched their actions... before all looked to the Civilians below and one began to pull out a strange, shiny silver, angular object with iridescent blue running through it. Immediately narrowing his brows - he knew that wasn't good. At all. Leaping to action, that single Chitauri would find his hand embedded into a close by column, by virtue of a thrown dagger, through the object as he rushed into the fray, slicing and dicing his unaware opponent, only one managing to react in time to pop off a shot. To which Kraven evaded via anticipation and he'd return the favor in the form of a deep slice across it's neck, nearly severing it whole... the bomb started to beep violently and loudly, Kraven looked back then down to the civilians, leaping down below - "Flee now!", he shouted and took off for the exit, smashing through the shoddy barricade the Chitauri had constructed to pen in the innocents. As they followed, the second floor would rumble with a blue explosion, which culminated in dark, thick smog covering the immediate vicinity... moments passed before Kraven the Hunter and the civilians departed from the smog, uninjured by the prior proceedings.

 

"Kravinoff here, I've rescued the civilians. Get them elsewhere from this warzone." - he spoke to any and all nearby S.H.I.E.L.D agents, and he glanced up - he heard the news regarding Nova - perhaps the Hunter could subdue a foe more challenging than the Chitauri? And he stalked off immediately, taking to the sky via rapid climbing of the closest building... it was time to get a vantage point.

Punisher tried to get control of the cruiser but he knew he needed to something quick before it crashed. Punisher managed to take control of the damaged cruiser as he flew over a rooftop and jumped off the cruiser onto the roof of a building as the cruiser went crashing into another as it exploded in the air. Punisher picked himself up slowly as he ran to look at where Nova was.

 

" Good I got you now you son of a bitch."

 

Punisher put his other weapons away as he took out his rocket launcher and set it up. Punisher followed Nova's battle as he watched it waiting for the right moment. Where they were fighting blocked Punisher's view of Nova. He simply waited on the rooftop to get a glimpse of Nova to fire it off.

Nova simply smirked at the idiocy of his opponents. He had not thought them dumb enough to speak about their plans when it would be broadcasted through their mics and earpieces...like the one Nova was still wearing. As such, he was forewarned that Castle intended to attack, so he kept himself on guard and yet still focusing the majority of his attention on Titanium Man.

Boris slid across and amazingly, quickly recovered enough to stand up to see Nova flying at him with the wind-up. He felt pretty confident that his armor would be able to withstand a blow, but, he wanted to test out how much damage he can really dish out.

 

He feels the energy in his right hand building up, it's telling him to grab victory. So he too winds up, using his thrusters to go straight at Nova as he was coming at him as well. Fully intending on smashing his head in.

Moon Knight, having been left in the dust by Nova, proceeded to fire his grappling hook at the first Chitauri cruiser to fly by overhead; assuming he was successful, he'd swiftly knock its occupants over the railings and commandeer it for himself. After getting to grips with the controls, he'd take off in the direction Nova had headed in.

 

"Fury, can you disconnect Nova's communications device? We don't need him listening in on our strategizing, given the circumstances." Spector spoke calmly, fully aware of the fact that Nova would hear everything they said.

The pair collide in mid-air, both their attacks hitting successfully. Nova is smashed in the head, while Titanium Man takes a blow to the jaw. Both are sent flying in opposite directions by the blow but as Nova was flying back he let loose a flurry of energy bolts. Of course, he hadn't been able to aim properly but he hoped one of those would hit home. Then he hit the floor, skidding to a halt almost at the edge of the building and played possum, hoping to trick his opponent into a false sense of safety.

Fury shook his head. "I could do that but bucket head comes equipped with his own communications device built in and can tap into our transmissions. And we have no counter for his alien tech as of yet. So it would be pointless." Fury reveals. "You'll just have to give him a concussion, to knock him back on track. Where's Wonder Man? Between him and Titanium Man, you should be able to do it."

Coulson phases into a building, waiting for Nova to fly past so he can hammer arm him.

And he would reach the top with all haste, propping himself in place... and he would unsling the rifle he had been carrying on his back... checking it over as he witnessed the fight before him in the distance unfold. Once he did so would he pull out a sedative dart and slip it into the barrel of the rifle. Typically he wouldn't use guns, preferring to be up close but such situations called for it and Kraven the Hunter knew better than to be foolish... he'd take aim, careful precision, tracking Nova. If he felt he couldn't make the shot, would he disengage and venture closer if possible... and if otherwise, he'd wait for the right moment, where Nova would be immobile, distracted, unable to defend himself... that would be when the Hunter struck.

"Yeah yeah just give me something to smash Fury" Juggernaut said angerly

Simon flew upwards, getting a view of the battlefield in order to locate Nova.

 

As soon as he spotted him, he started flying towards Nova at full speed, firing an energy blast at him to get his attention. "Titanium Man, heads up!"

Punisher cursed at himself as he heard Moon Knight's tranmission to Fury over the head piece. Fury was right though as there was no way to cut him off. But Punisher thought maybe he could use it his advantage.

 

" I'm gone fire a rocket at Nova. Hopefully he will be too busy to notice."

 

Punisher aimed at Nova and fired his rocket toward him. The rocket blasted toward Nova. He hoped his other team members got the message and used it's distraction to attack.

"Understood." Moon Knight responded to Fury, not wanting to give much away over the radio frequency. He'd continue moving towards Nova, who was now seemingly being engaged by the other two major powerhouses of the team. He'd simply observe for now, waiting for an opportunity to attack; for now, he'd simply watch Wonder Man and Titanium Man as they engaged Nova.

Nova opened his eyes immediately at that message from Castle, jumping up. He turns and catches the rocket with ease. "Is that all you got Castl--" Nova starts to remark...before hearing a loud yell. Glancing upwards, he spots a huge wave of energy heading towards him. "Oh fuc--" Nova starts before the blast hits, exploding as well as detonating the rocket.

 

As the smoke cleared, Nova could be seen there, uniform in tatters, bleeding moderately from cuts and wounds all over, a slight trickle from his mouth. He winced as he pulled himself up into a kneeling position and then up standing... "Is that...is that all you...got?" He asked, trying to potray confidence despite his weakened state. He started preparing to fire more energy blasts..."gonna have...to...do...better than...that."

And that was when Kraven fired his sedative round into the exposed mass of Nova, fully intent on utilizing his weakened state in conjunction with the sedative to render him unconscious.

 

"Perform the necessary cognitive recalibration." - Kraven said before he turned back into the fold below, leaping down upon a Chitauri soldier, killing it and moving onto the next target, having shouldered the rifle and more once brandishing his dual daggers, he set himself off to work...

Carlos, having made his way down into the building to where the combatants were taking place, grinned at Novas words, then rushed forward at top speed, aiming to hit Nova with a clothesline, knocking him to the ground and hopefully concussing him, giving him the "necessary cognitive recalibration".
