Is it specifically follows of that God, or of the Pantheon as a whole? If it's just the God, Aphrodite might be in some trouble here

Aphrodite is a Goddess of love and Marduk looks to me like a God of civics and politics.

War can assume many forms.  Is this a war of words?  A battle for hearts and minds?

If so, I would tend to see the priestesses from the Aphrodite cult having better odds. They were super popular, back in ancient times.

Marduk is the chief god like Zeus and Oden and those dudes. He's not a war god patron but would be needed to keep the people from becoming monsters. A war of ideas, battle for hearts and minds would be more in his favor. 

And lets not forget, Marduk the patron god for Babylon the big dog of it day. They conquered everybody else.
