I don't know if Jasmine really makes things that much better, but in Frozen 1, Elsa basically makes everything worse for 80% of the movie. She almost kills off the populace of her country because she's busy being a singing about letting it go and freezes everything over. I haven't seen Frozen 2, but going just off the first one Elsa sort of loses by default

I agree with @Peypeypeypey above. Elsa also nearly offs her own sister TWICE I believe.

Jasmine is pretty cool. She leads a sheltered life but wants to get out and explore things and see how people are living.  After that icky Jaffar business is dealt with, she presumably wants to make the city a better place.

Also, the entire town didn't come after Jasmine with torches, pitchforks and murderous intent unlike Elsa.

In Elss's defense, she brings balance back to the elemental spirits or whatever and humans.
