Huh. I wonder if Jonah and Vigilante ever met in the Old West in canon.

Ok, after looking both characters up, I saw that while Jonah Hex lived in the Old West era, everyone that's assumed the mantle of Vigilante has come from either the 20th or 21st century. Given that, I'd have to assume Jonah would have relied more on horses in his time, so he'd likely be more capable of taming them.

EDIT: This also seems to answer the wonder in my first post here. Unless one of the Vigilantes time traveled to the Old West, none of them would've met Hex then.

The only thing I can find in Vigilante's favour here is the he currently "runs a ranch". That presumably could involve some sort of horse training/taming and may tip this.

Still, pure experience would probably 80% of the time go to Hex who would be riding and around horses significantly more frequently.

I also feel that a horse would take one look at Hex and decide not to give him any trouble!

1 hour ago, Magnamax said:

Anyone else think vigilante’s holster on his left hip is distractingly wrong? Like what’s going on with his hand drawing a gun?

You mean how the pistol butt is backwards?

That's actually how Wild Bill Hickock wore his guns backwards. But I'm pretty sure the idea behind that was you drew with the opposite hand like a sword, not the same hand.
