Unlucky pull for the Tramp here. While the Gorillaz don't really play soul music, they're probably the closest of anyone in the performers slot. Meanwhile, the Tramp is completely out of his element here. Easy win for Gorillaz

I will point out that Soul Train was a variety show which also featured comedians and dancers.

That said, I like Gorillaz here as well.

This match-up would be worth it to see the pure WTF-ery on the faces of the Soul Train judges alone.  

But yeah, I think Russel Hobbs at least gets the Gorillaz through auditions.

EDIT: And wow, Soul Train's been off the air for that long?

Over its last few decades, the show had all kinds of acts from urban music, including rap, reggae, and even some Latin music. The last time Soul Train featured just soul acts was probably sometime in the '70's.
