Detective vs. thieves: Take a fictional detective and place him against a fictional thief. Ex: Dick Tracy vs. Catwoman, The Question vs. Nami (One Piece), Hellblazer vs. Ganondorf of the Enchanted Thieves, Batman vs. Lupin the Third.

Time Warp: Take a CBUB character and revamp them into another time period.

Man vs. Beast: Take a non-powered hero and put him against a fictional beast.

Obstacle course: take two non-powered heroes and place them in a famous obstacle course. Who succeeds? Ex: Tarzan and Flash Gordan vs. Ninja Warrior, Alice in Wonderland and Dorothy vs. the Labyrinth, Spongebob and Dora vs. Wipeout, Finn the Human and Ax Cop vs. Arcades Death Traps, Captain America and Batman vs. American Gladiator, but the Gladiators are villains.

Kid Fight: Pick a pair of kids to do battle.

Post me some new ideas for February!

I gots me a couple:

Black HIstory Month Challenge - All characters must be black. Simple

Challenge Treach! - All participants must write a battle using the same characters. The catch? They must write against me.

Valentine Challenge - Must a match revolving around the two characters being in love, falling in love or falling out of love.

The under 100 words challenge - Write a match in under 100 words.

chess match or a game of poker.

How about to characters enter a casino and see who could win more

I like some sort of romance themed challenge since it is February. We had a similar theme during Halloween and, I think in December? I dunno, I wasn't there most of that month.

How about to characters fighting for the love of the same person?

A Valentine's Day match wouldn't be a bad idea. We could also possibly put random characters in a sporting event.

Well, a few people like the idea of a Valentine's themed challenge... and I kinda like XLEGACYx's suggestion. I suppose we could also do other lovey themed stuff like:

Write a fictional breakup between two characters even if they weren't a couple in real canon.

A love-hate relationship. Two characters who, despite being enemies in canon, probably have some underlying feelings.

For when March comes along we could possibly do one of these idea I've thought of:

1. Ides of March

Like the title indicates, we could have it where you make a match where a some group or person is trying to take down an evil (or at least thought to be evil) ruler/government.

2. "March" of the armies

We would have to make match involving an epic clash of two opposing armies with a possibility of having one leader character on each side to lead the army if you so choose or are able to do a 2vs2 match. Having a leader for each army wouldn't be neccessary though.

I like the Incredible Hulk's ideas..,

Ides of March and March of the Armies sound really awesome...

Something else could be

1. March Madness

Have some characters go mad or insane.

2. Saint Patrick's Day

I don't really have any ideas for this one.. A battle of green characters; Hulk, Green Lantern, Leprechaun, Green Arrow.... or a search for gold or a 4 leaf clover.. I don't know

I would say some kind of treasure hunt or like boratz said o. Green characters being used

Okay I just skimmed through past suggestions so maybe this was suggested before; but maybe two teams of unused characters must compete against one another, it could be a race, a fight, or just obtain an objective but one must triumph over the other.

And to make it even more interesting and challenging these characters must never have met before.

Okay, this is a very not well thought out idea, but perhaps something of a CBUB vs. FPL match-up? Writers could pick an FPL character and, with the permission of the character's creator, create an even match-up between that character someone in the CBUB database. Thre would be no restrictions on the kind of match-up, be it a fight, chess match, treasure hunt, or whatever you want, but it has not fit the theme, message, or general plot of the FPL character. Might be awful, but it's an idea.

For April, I'm thinking a prank war between a faction of two groups, particularly rivals.

IMO that's kinda seems too specific a subject range for making matches. Maybe just a simple joke/prank or just "April Fools" theme would be better give people more options to work with

Anyway here are a couple Ideas for April I came up with:

  • Poetry Competition: Since it's National Poetry Month (U.S.) perhaps the set-ups for our matches would have to be in poem format or whatever. I know this probably won't happen but just thought I'd throw it out there.
  • The Fall and rise: We have make a match invovling the fall and then rise of an evil force. For example, it could be about a hero defeating a villain and then the villain returning more powerful.

Perhaps for May we could something like a space (outer space) theme. I got this from "May the force be with you," which of course comes from you know what which is in space for the most part.

I thought of maybe doing something with "May the odds be ever in your favor," but I'm not sure how we could turn that into a theme.

Here are some non month related themes

  • advanced technology battle (could be building/designing competition, just plain tech fight, etc....)
  • Aliens vs. Aliens
  • purely range brawl (could be gun or energy projection fight)
  • elemental brawl. Two opponents, each has to represent a different element of the four elements in some easily recognizable way (and maybe even make them have to be opposing elements also: earth & wind, fire & water) fight each other in a battle of the elements
