Heh, Chaos would be right at home in a hall of mirrors. He could make it even more of a maze to mess with Arthur, and that's with the least of his power.

I mean, Aladdin won against him, right?

Aladdin didn't beat him. He tricked Mirage, who in turn was trying to pull one over on Chaos. Chaos was toying with everyone the whole time.

and so it was the lone wanderer ventured forth from Vault 101 intent on discovering the fate of a father who had once sacrificed the future  of humanity for his only child...

I'm gonna reiterate what was said last time Chaos tied: he makes things interesting for himself. He 100% could just win outright, but it's not in character for him and Arthur is really good at catching people slipping up and underestimating him.

Also, if someone or something told Chaos his goal was to avoid Arthur in the maze, Chaos would 100% go to Arthur in the cave. Would Arthur be able to catch him fair and square? Of course not. But at he is portrayed in the episode, there is every chance that Chaos would either let Arthur win (knowing there is a force that wants Chaos to not let Arthur catch him would be the biggest insult to Chaos) or just refuse to participate altogether, giving Arthur a win by default

The problem with that argument is that Chaos was never really tricked in the episode. He was playing along with everyone's attempted machinations the entire time.

Or he could add to the chaos of Arthur's chase by making the maze more labyrinthine or, say, making a reflection of himself in every mirror in the maze, (even in places where he's not located), create all manner of traps, create enough avatars of himself that Arthur would never be sure if he's caught up to the real Chaos, etc. That would be more than enough to fill the chaotic quota.

Also, Chaos revels in the fun of mayhem. If he simply allowed Arthur to catch him, that would be the end of the mayhem as well as Chaos's amusement.

I didn't mean to imply he would make it easy for Arthur, but if he made it impossible for Arthur then he wouldn't have his fun, either. As you say, he loves messing with people. He would make it very difficult, but possible, for Arthur to win for his own amusement. If Arthur has no chance, then it's boring, and Chaos would hate that. My point is that Arthur is just the kind of person that people constantly underestimate, and he could very well surprise even Chaos and pull an unexpected win in the scenario Chaos cooks up

Chaos revels in fun on his own terms. He's powerful enough to set up this entire terrain to see if Arthur could catch him, and if Arthur catches him, it may be revealed that the Chaos he caught was in fact an avatar and the real Chaos was never in the maze in the first place.

You heard it here first, folks. According to DSkillz, Chaos was never even in the arena, make it an automatic win for Arthur

Jokes aside, I disagree just a bit with this reasoning because while it's true Chaos would be in no real danger, if Arthur has no chance of winning at all then he would consider it boring and would think Fate had determined Arthur has to lose, ans Chaos hates Fate more than anything. I think the most likely scenario is Chaos makes a game of it they is possible for Arthur to win but very hard, and Arthur, workhorse that he is, would overcome the challenges

I just want Trevor to get a crack at Chaos. Time to put that primal entity killing sword to use boy.

It's more like Chaos has a dislike of Fate, otherwise they wouldn't regularly play cards together.

But anyways, Chaos could also consider the possibility that Fate would determine that Arthur would win because of Arthur's rep of being determined and beating the odds. He may also think that Arthur always being underestimated is boring and set up situations in the maze where Arthur's actions are accounted for at every turn.

Heh, good luck for Trevor even getting to use that sword on him. :D Chaos is likely a little beyond what he's used to.

If anything, Chaos might look at Arthur and see he needs a win lol. Of the three major robberies in RDR 2, all three go wrong in some major way, all of Arthur's close friends die except like 3, he gets betrayed by his mentor/Father figure twice, he gets TB, and his gang falls apart. Fate has it out for Arthur lol
