On the one hand, the best advice for running from a monster is "keep going and going," so the Energizer Bunny has that going for him. On the other hand, Mario is more recognizable, trustworthy, and he can actually talk to give out orders. Plus he has experience saving people from monsters

I think Mario has this. Not only does he have a more vocal presence, his bravery and abilities would allow him to save some people along the way.

If there is a monster attack, that probably means there will be some elemental hazards to navigate. That gives Mario a big advantage. The Energizer Bunny just goes straight, might not be the idea to follow that blindly.
