Yikes.

Well, Arthur is a good tracker, he's pretty good at planning and can come up with a good strategy for most things. Deadeye may give him a way to actually see Roadrunner, and his lasso would give him a way around Road Runner's toon force durability. There's a chance he could catch the bird through sheer speed and tenacity

Arthur is probably just outclassed here. Road Runner is really good at making the best plans blow up in Wil E.’s face. His toon force is practically a way of giving others bad luck. Think of Wil E painting a wall for the Road Runner to run into, only for him to speed off into the distance.

Not sure in terms of video game mechanics translating to the fight itself, but I don’t think he can keep up either way. Arthur probably tried one trick, then the road runner speeds away, never to be seen. Throw in home field and I think it’s just a tough pull for Arthur.

I think Road Runner's toon force is too strong for him to get caught here.

Deadeye is explicitly an in-canon ability. It just represents Arthur (and later John) focus in on their targets basically. There are several times when Deadeye canonically increase Arthur's speed and accuracy, and John specifically trains it in the first game

Arthur’s deadeye could honestly be the thing that let’s him win here. At the very least you can’t definitively say that RR is too fast for him. Then again RR does have a high degree of cunning and sheer luck on it’s side so maybe not… Damn this is such a hard decision.

You can still say The Road Runner will be too fast for him. Deadeye isn’t going to slow down the Roadrunner, and it’s WAY faster than anything Arthur has encountered. He might be able to try and focus on it but, again, the Road Runner is essentially able to break away from a hunter who has specifically prepped for him many times and it simply doesn’t matter.
