It's Star Fleet's finest expendables with their formal combat training against Gears of War brutish expendables with their strength.

It could go either way. Locust Drones don't seem difficult to defeat in Gears of War. But, then again, Red-Shirts have a knack for getting on the wrong side of danger.

I think the Locust Horde has this. It's only consistent with the Red Shirts being expendable after all.

A bunch of science nerds in red shirts vs a race of hyper aggressive mutants who on average are taller and heavier than the most muscular humans. And they’ll be essentially wrestling you say? Gee I wonder who’ll win?

While Starfleet does train crew how to fight, and the redshirts excel being security the Locusts are stronger and more savage. Unless these Redshirts have gone toe to toe against Klingons or Romulans I don't see them pulling a win in a wrestling match.

That's a good point. Vulcans, Caitians, and Andorians could definitely throw down with Locust easier than a human could.
