As much as I like classic Mario games, I am going with Willy The Hillbilly here, he is my dude and was created to market a drink, a Pepsico drink none the less.  Pepsi was honestly ahead of the time with Pepsi AM, considering the later rise of energy drinks.

This does feel more in-line with Willy, I have to agree. He's already a drink mascot, and drinking a breakfast cola is something I could see marketed as a Hillbilly thing. I don't think it would catch on with either of them, but then it didn't catch on in real life, either. Willy has the better brand synergy

Well, there was a Mario soda on the market at some point.

The cans also still sell well as novelty items.

Mario is also still a major marketing force. Willy, however, hasn't been relevant since the '60's.

Actually Willy was used for Mountain Dewshine as recently as 2017 (the last time I bought any, but I generally do not buy sodas.)

Eh, Dewshine didn't stay on the market long, either.
