Cartoony abilities from the Mars Attacks aliens notwithstanding, I am leaning Necrons here. I feel that non-organics with superior tech are going to be a tough opponent for the Martians.

Also, if you are looking to get into some Necron game action, give Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus a look.  I recently played through it and found it an entertaining strategy game.

Considering though the Martians once used a weird thing to absorb a nuclear blast and turns out to be helium to them, i think the same logic will apply.
