The Silent Hill film is all I have to go on.

Jaylah seems like a reasonable and intelligent enough character to make an attempt to figure out what is going on and solve the town's mysteries. However, she will have no frame of reference or context for all the religious viewpoints or story elements.  From her viewpoint, the whole thing is probably going to seem asinine.

Anyways, she has some good combat and physical skills and the intelligence, so maybe.
