Admittedly don’t know all that much about the Saint, but Beckett was a mentor figure to Han Solo and an infamous figure to those in the underworld, this is right up his alley.

Never recall the saint doing anything with card games, Beckett though seems like he played a mean hand of Sabaac on occassion.

Yer boi Fox is an old nerd, but not even I am old enough to be a contemporary of The Saint.

That said I know how to Google and, yes, the Saint has a Gambling episode which you can watch on YouTube here.

Anyways, I'm pretty much leaning Saint as the amount of screen time and feats the character has are large.  One can only speculate with Tobias.

Gotta agree with Fox here. We could speculate that he helped Han Solo learnt card games, but it also could be Han himself that learnt card games. Who knows?

The Saint spent a fair amount of time in gambling clubs and casinos.

As Fox mentioned "Ex-King of Diamonds" is all about cards, but we also see Simon play roulette and craps. In "Invitation to Danger" and "The Set-Up" which may not be cards, but the actual gambling side is similar.

In other words The Saint has the displayed and implied skills to take this match.
