I don't got a dog in this fight. I feel like both of these competitors could handle the graboids. Unless it's the versions that walk and fly, that could give them more trouble.

I root for Ripley given my team but this would go either way.

I agree that both could do it, but I think Ellen's experience closer matches the Graboids, and that probably gives her an edge

Both are very capable

 

May be leaning a bit more towards Ripley as we have seen her adapt to the situations of facing off against deadly creatures. In the first alien, she did not have as much as far as weapons and tools, but managed to defeat the lone xenomorph

In Aliens, she received some training and was able to survive against a horde of xenomorohs and even managed to survive in a battle with the queen

 

I know graboids are not necessarily something that could be faced head on, but finding tools to survive or defeat them could be in the wheel house of Ripley

Yeah, Ellen Ripley's situation is better suited. She dealt with the perfect killing predator, who also used stealth, as opposed to Robert Neville who dealt with a lot more savage killers, that didn't really care about stealth solely due to the fact that they were so much more powerful than the people they were up against. Not to say that the Xenomorphs weren't, but they definitely were less reserved in their stealth.

Considering that Ripley survived four movies worth of acid spraying Xenomorphs, even a platoon of Colonial Marines couldn’t have lived through what she did, I’d say she takes this. Heck, even jumping into straight up molten lava couldn’t keep this women dead for long! What hope do the Graboids have?
