Honestly, I'm thinking Grom is at a greater advantage here, in some ways.

The two are similar in certain ways/skills they possess, the difference here is that Grom doesn't necessarily need a photographic memory to operate the way he does most of the time, his deduction skills seem to be enough.

Now, Grom is certainly the more apt fighter and combatant of the two, in addition to his detective skills, and for my money, although admittedly I haven't seen much of Psych, he seems to certainly have more and perhaps better experience in planning escapes from fortresses/prisons in which guards, traps, or both seem to be, even without holding a weapon, as he managed to escape multiple booby traps in the Plague Doctor's estate > https://readcomiconline.to/Comic/Major-Grom/Issue-9?id=133685, while poisoned, and even managed to launch an escape from a compound in Ireland, with heavily armed guards about and waiting for him > https://readcomiconline.to/Comic/Major-Grom/Issue-14?id=142792#1.

Again, I'm not saying Spencer couldn't do perform effectively in either scenario, but both of those situations seem to be above his skill set, at least as far as I understand the show, Psych.
