Based on the wiki, Kali main role is to be protector against evil and she herself fought and killed demons to do so. She's  also is skilled warrior herself. While Dagda is said to be associated with manliness and strength I think he's more of a gentle giant.

The Dagda:

-"He was a warrior god and father figure from a superhuman race of giants called the Tuatha Dé Danann, the ruling clan of gods in Ireland."

-"There are numerous myths about Dagda's prowess as a warrior in the wars the Tuatha fought against the evil and supernatural race called the Fomorians, who sought to invade Ireland. Dagda was one of the leaders of the Tuatha who played a vital role in winning the battles. One myth states Lugh sent him to spy on the enemy camp and gained important information before the battle. He then used his cauldron and a giant club to win the battle."

I think it's being missed that The Dagda is a god who led a race of superhuman giants that fought invading evil forces. Plus he feeds his people, think Odin but more Irish. Surely warriors are going to be in on the god who will support them in battle and be able to let them celebrate without end? I think more warriors are in on that.
