Interesting. Maui never actually defeated Ta Ka the lava monster but Skar King would be more his match. I think Maui can win this.

I mean supposedly Maui held up the sky and lassoed the sun. I mean throughout most of Moana he definitely didn’t seem that strong, but maybe it was because he had been separated from his Hook for so long and it took away his powers? I don’t know, maybe?

There definitely seemed to be a disconnect between what he has legendarily done and what he seemingly could do even with the hook. Still he did battle large monsters for a long time so he could concievably do this.
