I'd say O'Connell wins. Mal never really went head to head with superior opponents in the show.

The Operative whooped him but good. The only reason he got him in the end was tricking him with that injury. The Operative did a nerve hit that should have parilized Malcoml but Malcolm was already injured there so there was no effect so he played it off and caught the Opertive off guard.  O'Connel on the other hand fought mummy Egyptian soldiers and Imhotep himself and Jet Li (Emperor Han).
