I think it's possible that the Fanboys could win a LARP battle dressed as red shirted ensigns, against the red shirted ensigns!

This seems like it should favor the Fanboys, but I'm not so sure.

The Red Shirts have access to Federation fabrication systems. So there gear and costumes are gonna be better. They are gonna be better trained, which is useful even in a simulated battle. In fact that's the major problem with the costuming part solved for them, this is basically a training mission, a live action battle simulation between a trained and cohesive military force and untrained group of civilians, that may or may not get along.

The Red-Shirted Ensigns' training doesn't stop them from being killed on every mission they go on, so...

The fanboys have studied all of the red suits' tactics for decades, they probably gave the advantage here.

Gotta think about this one. 

The Red Shirts are likely more combat-trained overall, but the fanboys are generally more familiar with LARP'ing.

I know it’s strangely one of the toughest choices we’ve had this season. Go figure.
