Culwych1
Good old father vs son match up. Osiris takes this in a landslide. He had the biggest festival of the year: you don't get better than New Year's eve with plenty of booze and food. This page sums it up pretty much: https://www.worldhistory.org/article/1032/festivals-in-ancient-egypt/ Wepet-Renpet Festival: basically New Years Eve - with plenty of feasting and drinking, celebrating the death and rebirth of Osiris. Wag Festival: honouring the souls sent to Osiris, and shrines of paper were sent down the Nile - must have been absolutely beatiful And plenty more. DSkillz
Well, Horus is the god of kingship (pharoahs in particular), and pharoahs were known to hold very festive, regal events. The Pharaohs' Golden Parade was also a huge event this year:

The Pharaohs' Golden Parade was also a huge event this year: Actually Pharaoh's identified with both Horus and Osiris (two facets of life and death) and celebrated both at the same time in their ceremonies. Osiris's form is literally a mummified Pharaoh. Osiris represented to pharaohs "both their father and their higher aspect and hope of salvation after death". "Osiris was the all-merciful, the forgiving, and the just judge of the dead who oversaw one's life on earth and in the afterlife". And with a bit of research, I'll add that worship of Osiris and the cult of Isis continued into the Roman world where it was hugely popular. Their parties were.... how should I say this... lavish and behind closed doors and involved the loss of peity in a lot of cases.

I did not know that ancient Egypt celebrated New Year’s Eve. Huh, I guess you learn something new everyday. Thanks.
