I...don’t know how Brood fleets measure up to Sangheili ones.

The Brood don't do well in alien fleet battles, they're much more suited to ground combat cause they specialize in taking over people as they are more parasites than soldiers. I think solely cause of this the Sangheili should take this.

Brood and their infected spacewhales vs Sangheili covenant vessels? 

I got to go with the Elites, the weapons on their ships leave planets decimated I think they'd work well against organic beings in space. Plus the Elites are very good tacticians, it's why they usually beat the Brutes in naval engagements even outnumbered.  

The only chance the Brood has here is if they try to board, but trying to board every single ship in a fleet? Not a great plan. 

Hmm, the Brood are sort of similar to the Flood, Elites may just have this one if prior experience is factored in, especially if good ol Shipmaster Rtas Vadum is in command.
