From what I vaguely recall of the movie, Dren's purpose is to seduce, mate and kill. I am thinking of the children when I say I'm reluctant to imagine Whitey fulfilling that role...

True but would you rather that thing be a youth basket ball coach, or be a factor in changing Davey Stone's life?

I think I probably would rather it (or certainly rather imagine it), with Dren turning out OK. 

But as to the question of who could do it better, now I'm doubting myself.

Have we got Whitey going around mating and killing successfully, or Dren reigning in her/his instincts to try and coach/improve lives.... now that's a question and a half.

I'll wait to see a few more comments before casting a vote.
