Match 19498 Raditz vs. Hulk and The Agents of S.M.A.S.H.

[Venom 2009]

Things were peaceful for the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. Hulk was reading a book; Skaar was playing with Devil Dinosaur; She-Hulk and Red Hulk were practicing combat training; and A-Bomb was video editing the next episode of the team’s web show.

But suddenly the peace came to an end, as the alarm to the base went off. Hulk, She-Hulk, Red Hulk, and Skaar ran into the command room. A-Bomb was already setting at the computer.

“What’s going on?” Hulk asked.

“Something is heading towards us, and it’s coming in fast.” A-Bomb said.

“How much time do we have?” Red Hulk asked.

"None." A-Bomb said.

Outside of the base, something crashed into the ground so hard that it created an earthquake.

“Skaar and friends are under attack!” Skaar yelled as the base was shaking.

“Relax, nothing has hit us.” She-Hulk said to her friend, as the base finally stopped shaking.

“Still, it could have been an attack.” Red Hulk said.

“Best to go outside to see what it was.” Hulk said.

When the five Hulks got outside, they were shocked to see a very big crater up ahead. The Hulks started walking towards the crater, using their flying robotic cameras to record footage for their web show.

The Agents of S.M.A.S.H. reached the crater, and looked down to see some kind of object at the bottom of the hole.

“What is it?” She-Hulk asked.

“A ball.” Skaar said.

“Yes, Skaar, it’s a ball. But it’s no bowling ball.” Red Hulk said.

“It looks like a spaceship.” Hulk said.

“That small? Whoever is in there must be really short.” A-Bomb said.

The Space Pod opened up. Stepping out of the small ship was a tall man with armor, had a small device on his face, and his hair was very long.

“Or someone that doesn’t mind small spaces.” A-Bomb said.

The Hulks backed away as Raditz flies out of the crater, and lands in front of them.

“So, the creatures on this planet are still alive. Kakarot has failed us.” Raditz said out loud to himself.

“Kaka-what? Is that something you eat?” Skaar asked.

“More like someone who didn’t do his job.” She-Hulk said.

“Hey, buddy. I don’t know where you got your driver's license, but you don’t crash land in someone’s backyard.” Red Hulk said.

“Oh? What are you going to do about it?” Raditz asked.

“We can kick your butt and throw you back into outer space.” A-Bomb said.

“Ah! Like a bunch of weaklings could beat a Saiyan warrior.” Raditz said.

“All that hair must be cutting off the oxygen to your brain, if you think you are even a match for five Hulks.” Red Hulk said.

“Look, there’s no reason to cause trouble; just leave our planet, and never return.” Hulk said.

“I’ll be leaving the planet alright. After I find Kakarot, and we exterminate every life form on this rock.” Raditz said.

“That’s not going to happen.” Hulk said.

“You’re going to have to go through us first.” She-Hulk said.

“If you want to be the first ones to die, I’ll be happy to do that. Just let me take a little look at your power level.” Raditz said, as he was about to hit a button on his scouter.

“I’ve got your power level right here!” Red Hulk yelled, as he throws a punch towards Raditz’s face.

Before I give my rating please know that I am being particularly picky just because of it being a writer's challenge. 

There are a few punctuation issues and only a couple of words are used either in the wrong tense or just the wrong word used. The few mistakes made are ones that I wouldn't have noticed unless I was looking to critique. 

The story does get the point across as well, Bad guy does a bad thing and the good guy(s) try to stop him. However, there really isn't much going on beyond that. However, I do appreciate the line "Kaka-what? Is that something you eat?" as a call to Goten.

I haven't seen Agents of Smash so I can't really give a fair vote because of that. But looking at some clips, I haven't seen anything that would compare to Raditz. I'll reserve my vote for now.

Pretty good entry, Venom.  It's pretty certain that neither side is going to back away from this challenge. 

It looks like Raditz may make a fairly decent match-up for the Agents mainly due to his speed. I don't think he has the power (and probably not the smarts) to take them, though. At least a couple of the Hulks look physically stronger, and Red Hulk may even be able to absorb Raditz's chi attacks.

Hello  

Good job on the debut part of the challenge.  Hulk and the Agents of SMASH took up most of the screen time, and they all got a nice chunk of dialogue.  There is also a clear, sensical reason for these characters to be fighting.  I think the spirit of the match was supposed to be one on one and this is one on five, but besides that you followed the rules of the match very well.

However, quality of the writing is a factor too.  What is missing here is description and depth, very fixable with more practice.  What does the base and yard look like?  What do the characters look like?  I want to be able to visualize what is going on.  Tell me more details about the characters.  You want me to be interested in them and care about what happens to them.  Right now, I don't know anything about them, they arn't compelling or interesting, I don't care about them.  What are their abilities?  From this write up, I have no idea who would win because I know nothing about them.  

I don't know anything about any of these characters besides hulk, so like IKA I didn't vote either way either.
