With the sheer number of demons, vampires, and monsters in Sunnydale, Indy isn't going to make it out alive. He's a curious explorer, but he's only human, and peak humans don't last long in the Buffy-verse without a lot of prep and the help of Slayers, which Indy has neither of.

Normal untrained humans live entire lives in Sunnydale.

People like Xander and Cordi. Were not trained fighters or even particularly gifted athletically or academically. Yet they survived years Sunnydale ( before Buffy arrived ) and it's not like they did so by hiding inside. They regularly went  clubbing at the Bronze after dark, heck Xander would sleep outside for some holidays to avoid family fights.

So chances are Jones is going to get drink, find a girl or good book, and retire to a hotel room with no issue.

Even if there is and issue.  He's not likely to get swarmed by a supernatural army, but rather bump into a low tier vamp/demon or two.

A situation that would not be new for Indy, nor one that he couldn't deal with.

He faced Dracula as a kid and won. So vampires he knows.

Here is Indy fighting 8ft giants.

 

and in Emperor's Tomb he fights demons and spirits and he fights them in groups.

In this clip we can see Indy resist Mola Rams magic. When the priest tries to use it to rip Jones's heart out and we see Dr. Jones invoke the power of Shiva. When he heats up the Sankara stones.

In other words if he has to. Fighting vampires, demons, and the forces of darkness is something that Indy has on lockdown.

He may get a few bumps, but he comes out of this just fine.
