As much of a bubbling idiot as he is, the things he comes up with seem to "work", as cartoonish as they are. Unfortunately, as much as I remember from Judge Dee, he is extremely agile to the point where he jumps up a few stories into the air, as do all his contemporaries from the one movie I watched. If it's a trap that has even one point of escape, I assume Judge Dee could take it and leave.

I have never heard of Judge Dee up until this point so I can’t really speak for his capabilities. I do feel the need to point this out though; Dr. Evil himself has admitted his death traps are “easily escapable, unnecessarily slow-moving, and involving an overly elaborate and exotic death.” So assuming that Judge Dee is as competent as Austin Powers, whose probably just as dumb and bumbling as Dr. Evil, I assume he can survive this scenario.
