Okay, I've looked up Rust Cohle, and while he's no doubt a talented and accomplished investigator in his own right, Vic is probably a touch better in those regards, with his paranoid belief in conspiracies enhancing those skills further. Vic's also dealt with weirder things in Hub City and the DC universe as a whole. He could likely discover "Slay" Santa first and at least keep him at bay long enough to save of lot of the townsfolk.
