IKA Posted March 27 Read Aloud Posted March 27 Flash Fiction Challenge: "Just a Prank, Bro?" This Flash Fiction challenge has a maximum Word Count of 2500 words per entry. The match set-up must be 2500 words or less. Use a word count tool to verify your entry. Theme: "Just a Prank, Bro!" Two characters are involved in a situation where one has perpetrated a "prank" on the other. However, the prank has gone horribly wrong, resulting in significant negative consequences for the recipient. The prankster, despite the obvious distress and damage caused, still believes it was "just a prank" and struggles to understand the other character's reaction. The central conflict arises from this fundamental difference in perspective and the fallout from the failed prank. Examples: A character pulls a seemingly harmless prank that accidentally leads to the loss of something deeply valuable to the other. The prankster laughs it off, while the victim is devastated. One character orchestrates an elaborate "surprise" that backfires spectacularly, causing public humiliation, injury, or significant financial loss to the other. The prankster is oblivious to the severity, still expecting amusement. A villain, in their twisted sense of humor, commits a destructive act, labeling it a "prank" to downplay the harm caused to a hero or innocent bystander. Two friends with vastly different senses of humor engage in a prank war that escalates to a point where one character's life is genuinely disrupted, but the other insists it's all in good fun. Players: Players must use two contenders (and only two) in a 1 vs. 1 scenario. The two contenders can be anyone from any category of the CBUB Character Database for this challenge. The "prank" and its consequences must be the central focus of the conflict. Matches: Players will create One Tournament match during the challenge period with the above theme. And only one. Entries will be judged based on creativity, portrayal of the characters' contrasting perspectives, the impact of the "prank," and overall storytelling quality. Prizes: 1 Grand Prize - $25 Digital Visa Gift Card 1
