Well. Marduk is the patron god of Babylon (the  centerpiece Isreali captivity during the time of Jerimiha and Daniel. He actually the chief god like Zues of Odin so if he wanted it he could take the worship simply by status. Before Hammarabi, Marduk was mainly assosiated with vegetation and water among other things but this would probably appeal most to the Ewoks. Worshiping Marduk would likely up Ewok society by a lot.

Amaterasu already won this scenario before and she shall win it again.

Reason #1: She’s a sun goddess! Not only do the Ewoks need the sun to grow the berries and herbs that they eat but also the trees that they live in! Literally the Ewoks whole way of life revolves around the various plants on Endor and so they therefore rely heavily on the sun to grow the plants. So yeah, a sun goddess would be a personal favorite of theirs.

Reason #2: Amaterasu is also a warrior whose had to battle her own brothers Susano and Tsukuyomi to protect her worshipers. The Ewoks as a whole seem to be easily susceptible to a epic tales of good vs evil, as seen in Return of the Jedi when C-3PO managed to convince the Ewoks to join with the Rebels after regaling them with the adventures of the Rebel forces against the Empire. So they’ll no doubt be very impressed by Amaterasu’s battles with her brothers and be even more eager to worship her.

Reason #3: As Fox pointed out several matches ago these two things look a lot alike don’t they:

Much more then Marduk does anyway. So yeah I think the Ewoks will take one look at her and immediately start bowing and groveling at her feet.

Well Marduk can get them out of the trees. By the time Luke Han and Lea come around, Marduk worshipping Ewoks would be probably have shut down the shield generator already and enlaved whatever Stormtroopers that got abandon the Endor.

Amaterasu would be able to lead the Ewoks to defeat the Stormtroopers as well. As I mentioned before she’s a warrior goddess whose had to wage war against her own brothers in the past.

And since she already looks like an established deity in the Ewoks mythology she’ll have an easier time getting the Ewoks trust and rallying them under her banner. Marduk meanwhile is a complete unknown to them, so what reason would they have to follow him when they could follow someone who they already believe is their chosen deity?
