....Corvo could feel his opinion sinking even lower of the wizard. Perhaps he shouldn't have expected anything more. But then he actually was shocked out of his anger. Not enough, but to a point where he could behave without raising his voice.

Komi was here!

He gave her a nod of greetings, a small smile splitting his face behind the mask before he turned to the guild master and spoke.

"We are all angry, yes...But I find myself disappointed. These bandits are worse than normal ones. They at least do not pretend that there is anything noble in what they do. But these? They target folks for no reason than a twisted ideology. They cripple people, rob them of anything they need to survive and leave them to die, claiming it's not murder. I had thought they had an actual cause that we may try to address them. I had thought we were going to help people who had been abused and thought this was their only recourse left. To find out that it was all a lie and over such a banal issue infuriated me. And against our worse instincts, we left them quietly and unmolested...Though not on a lack of trying from one of our number."

His mouth curled beneath the mask in a snarl as he spoke. "Elbine is dead. We had to rescue him from his wounds after he tried to attack them and when we opted for peaceful methods, he went ahead and ambushed us in an attempt to strong arm us into following him. He threatened to shoot us if we made a move against him and I warned him and gave him an ultimatum to surrender. He did not. And I did my duty."

He reached into his lapel, pulling out his badge for the guild as he weighed it in hand.

And then he placed it gently on the desk.

"Tell me there is something behind this. Tell me that we did not go through all this trouble, that all these had been ignored because of a toilet seat. If not...Then consider this my resignation."

He didn't need a badge to do good in the world.

And he had a feeling some of this group would follow him anyway, his eyes meeting Komi as a touch of his stress shone through his eyes.

Komi blushed a little and stood up. She stepped over to him and smiled slightly. She was in her battle gear now, and ready to help. "I'll help you, Corvo. After all, you were the one who encouraged me to leave the temple and come to Eastrun to begin with. Whatever you need me to do, I'll do my best!"

She looked around, hoping others would join in as well. "We should all do our best together... okay?"

And as uneventful as the previous mission and they all made it back safe, mostly. He was eager to chase the glory that had eluded him all his life. “What’s the next job Drondos? Do you have any monsters to fight? What I wouldn’t give to save some folks from a pack of Grimlocks Or something.”

Drondos snickered, amused at his fishy friend.

"Well now my fish boy, I'm across you are not high enough ranked in the guild to attempt anything higher than bronze ranked requests. Worry not, as you advance you will be able to accept missions for higher ranks, and higher danger. Just now before you arrived Squad A and their captain Enible the noble paladin just accepted a gold ranked mission, you will get there "

He reached into his desk, fumbling around locating something.

"Fine, fine, take the maid with you if you must. I suppose I'll just have to clean the guild up myself. Darn youngsters..."

After a few moments of fiddling, he was able to locate the requests for which he searched.

"Ah, here we are! Squad C, you are in luck as there two requests from which you can select one to complete. They are both similar and ranked and similarly rewarding..."

"The first, made by one of our guild members, ex-adventurer Kraster Dinkleton seeks a company of adventurers to escort a valued family heirloom safely to the town of Erwick. The town is not far, and I will be able to mark it on your maps if accepted."

He pulled out a second form.

"Another escort request, the cargo this time being a human. An merchant named Oswulf seeks a company of adventurers to escort his daughter safely to the elven city of Essealis. The mission will be completed once she is safely in the hands of Uncle Rythan, who is currently residing at an inn there."

Drondos studied the group carefully, his face conveying no emotion.

"So, what so you decide?"

"My first vote goes for the Grimlocks. Or goblins. Or whatever.

However, since that seems not to be on the table, I'd much rather transport the heirloom. There's too much talking in this group already, no need to add someone's brat to the mix."

Cliff turns to address Komi. "If your soft-spokeness is an indication of how often you converse, then I would be happy to have you along."

It would be nice to team up with an old friend from the Abbey. Corvo gave a grin beneath his face mask, eyes curled up in a way to indicate he was smiling as he nodded to her.

"Same here!" Clara exclaims the moment she heard the words 'elven city' peaked her interest. "Also escorting important people is also quite rewarding as well."

"So, what so you decide?"

Farley nearly spit out his juice when Drondos revealed the illusion.

"Wow. Geez." Farley facepalmed himself, "I didn't see that coming. A good thing I don't do magic, huh gang?"

Farley would finish his juice, accept the 5 silver and put it away in his pouch. "I'm glad we could make the guild proud and do some good for everyone. I guess I'll have to accept the fact you didn't tell us everything you knew. You had your reasons, I'm sure."

Farley gives a big smile and warm welcome to Komi. "Happy to have you."

"Hmm," with chin in hand, Farley thought about Drondos' requests. "I don't... I don't know about choosing between two missions. It's like making a decision on where live will bring you. You just have to go with it. I've always lived my life one adventure at a time, I didn't but myself in a position to choose between where I was needed."

"But... maybe. Maybe this is just a new way of going. Life comes at you and you must embrace it. Drondos, I think helping out this Oswulf and his daughter is the right one to do. It's about helping people after all and besides that, I've never been to Essealis. That would be very exciting."

"Hitting-oh! Hahaha." He chuckled as he nodded to Komi fondly.

"We grew up in the same group together at the Abbey. She's a friend of mine. Speaking of which Komi, we should catch up after. Actually, we could make it a group meal." The idea sounded better as he added to everyone in general.

"I would like to go over our first mission and then we can identify each other's strengths and weaknesses, for better synergy I'm future. It'll also be a great way to let Komi catch up and get to know all of you. Who's up for it?"

"Ah, the second mission it is, you will find the girl's father at the main gate in about two hours, do what you just until then."

Witha wave of his hand, Drondos dismissed the party.

They now have two hours to prepare.

Sounds like a plan then.

But not when they had to prepare for a mission in so little time. "Tonight at dinner then, whenever that may be on our mission. In the meantime, who wants to come along with me?"

He looked around and added. "I'm going to see about some equipment I might need. Shall we meet at the appointed place for our client till then?"

"We'll see you all later then unless you want to join us."

And off they went.

It was true that Corvo held a low opinion of Clara right now. But that did not extend to pettiness and he extended the olive branch as he said courteously.

"That's fine with me. So we can add an apocathery to our list of places to visit. In a town with a guild like ours I'm sure they'd have something. I need a new bedroll myself."

The clocktower struck noon, signalling the time for Squad C to gather their supplies have passed.

Drondos had informed them that the merchant they were supposed to meet would be waiting for them at the entrance of Eastrun, here they would find him and his daughter.

Corvo was prepared and ready for anything.

He was also in a cheerful mood. The sun was shining, Komi was here and there was a mission to be had. A task within their power.

As far as he was concerned, he was going to give this a hundred percent and he nodded to the two.

"Greetings sir! The Workers Of Requisite, Sly and Egnimatic Solutions are here to assist!"

Muggy waddled off on his own on their two hour break. He bought a bigger waterskin, one that was like 4 times bigger than the one he had. And he got some chalk, because why not? It was there and it was cheap. When the bell went off, he saw his compatriots heading toward the east entrance. He followed suit. And upon laying his eyes on their cargo, fell in love. He was moved to speechless. His pupils turned heart shaped. And he drooled a lil.

*Bringing it back to before everyone wandered off to shop and we went to meet the people we're protecting.

Cliff would say to his squad while they were all still together. "Everyone just promise, if we run into bandits or something we don't waste time talking. If we're meant to protect these folks we'll need to be swift and decisive in our actions-and to me that looks a lot like eliminating threats immediately."

Oswulf the Merchant, a heavy set fellow from the city of Pinegulf stood up straight.

He was a proud man, who considered himself above the need to ask for help, however this was something he could not handle alone. He observed the party walking up to him and introducing themselves.

"Aye, you lot already know who I am. Let's get this ovah wit'. See, I cannot be at two place at once, on one hand I 'ave my lovely daughter Erine, and on the other hand I 'ave this large cargo I need to send to Sterulia. One destination Is towards the far west, the otha' crossing the Lost Sea."

Oswulf digs through his many velvet pockets, and finally locates what he was looking for. A single scroll, sealed with a wax seal bearing his family emblem.

"This 'ere letter is for mah brother, he is at Essealis the elven city. Ain't much like the place mahself, but my brother's a good man. Ah realize it's a wee bit of a travel crossing the nation, so 'ave loandled Drondos one of me ships. Drondos tells me that the fish feller is sea worthy, I'll leave it in yer hands. If ye mess it up, it's coming outta yer pay."

He tosses the scroll to Muggy, and the key to the captain's quarters.

"This is my daughter, Erine. She's a quiet lass she is, but she knows the boat like the back of 'er hand. If one single hair on the back of 'er head is missin', you can ferget about the pay."

From behind Oswulf, nervously steps out Erine, the daughter. There's something enthralling about her, perhaps it's a feeling of delight or perhaps it's simply her friendly demeanor. But nonetheless, people tend to subtly ignore her, while learning as much about her as possible.

"Pleasure to meet you all, my name is Erine. I trust I'll be safe in your hands." A warm smile compliments her words, a sense of calm radiating from her.
